@@AndrewCamarata The UK is not a big country by any standards, and our population density is too high now, following poorly controlled immigration over the last 50-70 years. I have used one like this, Ours was more of a brush cutter and not for cutting huge trees... The blades are about 1 inch thick and have a cutting edge, You almost will never sharpen them because about 5 mins in they will be dull. They are designed more to tear/cut. I have had a few tractor brush cutters over the years where the blades are rounded over very smooth and cut tall grass just fine.

Why is this so satisfying to watch? Also hot tip for the owner if he happens to see this, keep the bigger trees that have the most canopy cover near the water sources in the quarry so the low groundwater and moist top soil doesn't evaporate by the sun which drastically reduces the ideal environment for trees/wildlife/insects/bees/smallgame to flourish (even though your area looks nice). Clearing the small flora around the area is still a great idea, it will slowly compost to topsoil in the surrounding area and improve the ground elevation so the water tables are concentrated into the quarry. This will one day result in a great naturally filtered watersource protected by a large canopy.

First day out trying to clear power right of ways a man was damn near killed. Whewwwww. 4 days later 2 machines had cabs and the rest were changed out weekly until all 6 machines were cnverted. Thank god I was number 2 so i was only out of work 2 weeks before my baby was up and running. Loved that job though. Man you felt like a god in that thing

Yeah those safe distances are estimated from the worse case scenario of when the cutter actually hits something very dense and perfectly sized (say a piece of scrap steel that weighs pound or two) or if the cutter disc loses one of its blades or a part of the blade. The trees and undergrowth its supposed to cut rarely pose a threat beyond 30 yards.
