The Peace and Love symbol is not New Age, but pertains to the Hippie movement. You also seem to confuse New Age with occultism. They are often intertwined, but not always. Now the actual definition. All New Age beliefs are based on the same 4 principles : 1_Spirituality is an energy, akin to light, magnetism or electricity. Metaphysics is considered a part of physics. 2_Emotions are the highest achievements of the human mind. 3_The Universe is made of the same material as human emotions. It responds to it. Thought modifies the Universe because they are one and the same. 4_There is nothing beyond the self.

As someone who has done some serious thinking on many of these subjects, I think that the things that people in the New Age movement believe are not necessarily wrong from an intellectual standpoint. For instance, could there by psychics and mediums? I keep an open mind that there could be some people with this ability. Demons could still play a role in granting people certain abilities, especially when they mess around in the occult to begin with. But I think trying to understand New Age beliefs and helping people to realize the danger of eclecticism and that true spirituality comes from THE Spirit rather than from various other demonic spirits.
