    I’d be cool with Californians moving to my state if they didn’t immediately try to turn in my case Utah(could easily read Idaho or Arizona) into California when they get here. None of the Californians get that those policies didn’t work.
    I remember discussing at the hardware store the other day that we should all start open carrying our guns around town instead of concealed carrying them to deter Californians from getting weird ideas about moving out here during the tourist seasons. The three more dead animal heads on the wall didn’t deter more from coming, and then complaining about the dead animal heads on the walls.

      Noem paying people to move here wouldn't surprise many of us. Perhaps she could use the Covid money each state received but she sent back because we "didn't need it". Or maybe the money the state was offered for food for hungry children over the summer that she also refused. Along with the case of allowing more people to qualify for Medicaid. She turned that down, too. She had many chances to help people who need it most in SD but she's turning away those helps to make SD appear to not need federal money. Hungry children Ms Noem? If she's attractive to those who think like her and they move here with their guns (that give them their self esteem) and prejudices against people who not exactly like they are, we don't need any more of this kind. These nationalist Christian's don't do what Jesus would do in any circumstance. Christian In Name Only = CINO.

      I'm most jealous about the time never changing. Is there any way that the rest of the states could start doing that?

    • @bearcubdaycare
      @bearcubdaycare ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jeremykraenzlein5975 Yes. Any state could just choose to remain on standard time, as Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii do. To remain on Daylight Savings Time permanently, a state needs congress to change a law. (Why states attempt the latter rather than just doing the former is unclear to me.)

    • @jeremykraenzlein5975
      @jeremykraenzlein5975 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any state could, but it is tough leading from the states. Whoever does it first is going to be out of step with all bordering states (except for the few that border Arizona, and the two that don't border any states). I remember when Indiana also didn't do time changes, but they eventually got tired of disrupting schedules across their borders twice a year. Peer pressure is apparently a thing even among state governments.
      The solution I am looking for is a Federal law like the Daylight Protection Act which passed the last Senate but died in the House. That would forgo conflict between the states. Much of the conflict I see stoping it is that some people want year-round standard time and others want what that Senate bill would have done, year-round daylight time. But I don't think that it really matters which we end up doing. Just give us any consistent time year-round, and over time we will adjust our schedules to when it is light outside and when it is dark.

    I figured this out around 1970 during a family vacation, made it happen in 1978. I have been all over the country and I dont want to live anywhere else. We did move to Georgia in 1985 but six years was too much, people we knew were being murdered and mugged. It wasnt just stories on the news, it was coworkers and neighbors.
    I grew up in Taxachusetts. Still have family there and the traffic is worse than ever. I hate visiting that place! Both of my parents died of cancer there and both received substandard care. Both my daughter and I have fallen ill while visiting and all I can say about health care in the Boston area is God help you if you get sick in Massachusetts.

    Sioux Falls has the most stable economy of anywhere in the US. No booms or recessions felt there. Very strong single family rental market. Great healthcare that's not over corporatized. Not sure about the job market... They get chains about 10 years later and stuff like Uber and Lyft arrived much later (and not really). Not much of a dating scene for single people. Rest of the state is good old small town life. Hunting and fishing is superb. Buy a good snow blower or hire someone with a big truck to do your snow removal. Summers are hot but short. And minimum wage recently went up to $11.20. Also, you're still paying federal income tax on your pay. Sales tax is around 7% on everything you buy, you have to pay taxes on online orders... Rent and utilities are separate expenses, meaning that under-$1,000 place can easily exceed $1,000 each month. Oh, and winter lasts for nearly 6 months, so you better get used to getting around in the ice and snow. The other 6 months is summer, where temps can exceed 100°F in contrast to winter's -40°F. South Dakota also holes a nearly-100 year old world record for the fastest and most aggressive temperature change. Then there's the meth problem...

    I was going to pop into the comments to point out something, but Remy did it in the very next line. "They call it pop there." Yes, we do. Soda... is a BAKING POWDER. And, while we're at it, we don't say "PEA-AIR" (like the French do). If you want to refer to Pierre, say "PEER, South Dakota" and you'll get it right.

    Guns
    Trans people not being the gender they claim
    More guns
    Family Values
    The fight against socialism
    Guns
    Honesty
