If you tapped down on the bench each cup a little you’d probably fit that extra half cup over all 4 cups making it 4 cups even as compression could change the measurement but not the overall weight.
Different mediums need their own comparison. Sugar, oatmeal etc all would not work out the same as flour as the particles are different sizes.
Glitter is a great example of this, 1oz of chunky larger particle glitter will fill a 1oz jar however the superfine glitter of same type and colour with not fill a 1oz jar but they will be of same weight, 1oz as the particles are finer so sit closer together to have less bulk.

U're right , .. 2 types of cups ..1cup=240ml , 1 cup=250 ml.. if u use 250 ml cup u will get 4 cups exactly, whereas the 240ml cup gives 4 plus half cups.. so de choice is yours.

Depends on the recipe, some 500g recipe calls for 8eggs or more. For the butter or margarine it also depends as some will call for 500g, 375 or thereabout
