braces on is only a dream on the first day after that it's just a nightmare that we want to get rid of soon.
In my first 5 days after installation I litterally hate it and get irritated so much, but after that it feels just like u dont have braces on, It will be painful again after adjustment only for day
@@zenitsu.7876 After a while we really forget that we are using it because often we don't even feel that it's in the mouth anymore , because we are used to it ,but seeing it in my mouth most of the time it bothers me because of the appearance that doesn't seem to make me very pretty but i believe it's worth it for sure ;)

Lots of people are talking like braces are nightmares, but for me, I feel different.
It did hurt for me, but I tried to stay positive and think that the pain shows that my teeth are moving.
It moves after like 2-3 months for me then after 6 months qll gaps were closed and now i wear goddamm retainers

for the people who haven’t gotten braces yet: it’s not a nightmare like the other comments say. the first day it hurts a bit and is a lil uncomfortable cause there is something new in your mouth. eat icecream or cold stuff to numb it and it feels normal again! soon after it defrosts tho so you probably would want to eat some more. then as the days go on you will feel as if there’s nothing on your teeth. so you can stay excited for your braces:)

Hi, when are you getting braces?
Don’t listen to all of the wimps posting comments saying braces are a nightmare. I’ve had braces all year now and I’m very comfortable actually. Braces leave your mouth a little sore for about a week after installation, and the only issue I had was the wire in the back of my mouth poking my cheek. I went back and they cut it and it was perfectly fine. After the soreness goes away you forget they’re even in your mouth. Whenever I think of my braces right now, it makes me happy and excited to see the end result slowly come together comfortably. I’m just saying it’s not worth it getting nervous about, there’s nothing much too it bro

Braces for me wasn’t so bad. It hurt in the first few days. But after that it’s not so bad to manage. Just gotta brush after every meal and make sure you keep up with taking care of them

For me the pain of braces when I first got them wasn’t what bothered me a lot, it was mostly me being uncomfortable with the new feel in my mouth. But remember even when they hurt or really bother you, they are going to help fix your teeth a lot so your smile will look just as amazing as you! ❤

when i got braces, i felt as if my teeth were gonna break due to the pressure the dentist applied while pressing them. i was at home and felt a little pressure, i didn’t take ibuprofen and i never have for dental purposes, even when i got my teeth extracted. i love them so much and it feels so nice

When you get them it hurts like bitch for first week or two. After that it gets normal. Then whenever they tighten it, it hurts for a day then it's normal.

I imagine taking high dose of pain reliever (Tylenol or Motrin) in advance of the procedure and following weeks will help when first installed? 😬
I guess it's different for different people, but for the first 2 weeks I could only eat liquid food, it was impossible to chew anything harder than mash potatoes. Every time they would be tightened the pain would be bad for a couple of days. It helped a lot, even though my lower teeth moved back after my wisdom teeth grew. I still have a very straight top and a nice smile.
i have 3D printed brackets, and i love them! they are whiteish clear but don’t discolor and my beads are a pearl and don’t discolor either so it’s very seamless!
The amount of pain you feel after getting them on and every adjustment (you will have to get a new wire and bands every 4 to 6 weeks) depends on how crooked your teeth are and what needs to be moved around and such. Just know the first 3 or so days after getting them put on and having them tightened and adjusted, your teeth are going to hurt. I would describe it as a bruised feeling. It can feel like a sharp pain when you chew food shortly after getting them tightened, but this can be mostly avoided buy eating soft foods. My favorite foods were mashed potatoes, Corn Pops that I let get soggy, pudding and rice.

Oh yeah I said the same thing bcuz I thought braces were amazing but then I got them and then I realized that they weren’t as awesome as I thought but they weren’t a nightmare either
When i first got my braces it felt like I couldnt close my mouth and after a few days of soreness, i got really accustomed to them. My orthodontist is really nice and thorough and asks if anything is poking me. If you're planning to get braces soon, itd be a good idea to take ibuprofen or some pain medication an hour before getting them. Im almost a year into mine and I love them. I get to smile as much as I want. 😁

i had braces for 4 years as a kid and i only just learned this fact: the wires are heat activated! so the heat of your mouth makes the wires straighten out which gradually moves your teeth. cold foods help pain because they stop the wire from straightening!

@@yurgurlydd Doesnt hurt getting them put on, they just get sore later on that day and for like 2-3 days after, because of the pressure it puts on your teeth. My advice is eat softer foods for the first few days and don’t try to bite into anything that isn’t softer. Like I’d go with max n cheese or potato’s or noodles and not hotdogs, or pizza or anything like that if you get what I mean.
It’s actually not that bad to have braces I had them for about four years and I managed to survive. The worst nightmare is not the braces but having a bad orthodontist. If the orthodontist isn’t good at his or her job or you have a small mouth like mine they don’t cut all the wire off at the back or wires come loose making it really hard to eat but thankfully my orthodontist was amazing and I didn’t have that many issues with them

My orthodontist leave me with open bite which I doesn't have before. I can't fully close my teeth together it's hard to eat and even speak when I sneeze I hit my upper teeth with the metal arc which is painful 😢

lol I had to put them because one of my teeth didn't come out and they had to cut to get it and now are pulling it in its position, but it is bigger than the others and makes them move. I didn't have the choice to not put it, because that tooth would have been a huge problem otherwise

I have gold braces; I never smiled before getting them. I keep a smile on my face now. My only downside is that they hurt when tightened. Sometimes my teeth itch from being irritated. I got my braces not too long ago and I was a bit scared because everyone was always telling me how it'll hurt to the point of crying and not being able to sleep. I was expecting the worst but ever since I got my braces, they haven't hurt at all.. Only on the second day which I felt a little soreness while eating but that's it...

@@Gacha_Lorelai they aren't that bad, I mean the first 5 days they are probably gonna hurt and you will prob notice some teeth move, even the first month IS hella uncomfortable. But then you won't notice the braces anymore (except when they adjust them but then pain will only last a couple of hours). Don't be scared It is super worth it

I have had braces for 16 months, and I got teeth blocks rn, and I have gotten a root canal beofre, I got two fillings and two crowns rn(didn’t take care of my teeth as a kid) and then I got a tooth gap, and they are pulling a tooth to film that gap rn, so I got bands on the inside of my teeth too. And to end it all off I have a TAD, which is a screw in my lower jaw for an anchor point for one of the wires….
Had my braces taken out 11 years ago, but I'll always remember the pain everytime I got them tightened. It would take a few days before I could eat without hurting.. and 11 years later my two front teeth still grew over each other after all 🥲

I've had my braces for a year now and it is probably the best thing that I ever did, I am more confident and I like my smile with my braces, idk why heheh, anyways, it might get painful sometimes, I even had bite plate for 6 months (I had LISP and couldn't eat many items, but it wasn't bad at all) and I got my braces when I was 22, So yeahh, if you're planning on getting braces, you should totally go for it, and don't be anxious!!

Aparelho é algo que você fica ansiosa para colocar, quando coloca começa a doer bastante a movimentação dos dentes, porém fazendo as manutenções certinho você vê um resultado incrível de dentes alinhados e quanto mais alinhado, mais rápido da vontade de tirar pois "parece" que já está bom, mas geralmente demora alguns anos para finalizar todo o processo do aparelho. Aguentem firme!! Eu já usei uma vez e vou usar de novo com 25 anos!

I got my braces yesterday and it doesnt hurt much..except for the fact that i cant chew anything at all..its fine
I use braces, but I always thought it hurt a lot when I put it on and that's why I was scared, but the day I went to put it on, the dentist was super nice to me and put it on, it didn't hurt at all, but after he started to clench my teeth and after months, he hurt my lips, opened the lower lips now I'm taking care of the wounds and doing the maintenance, it hurts but it's worth it and the result is amazing :)
Me before getting braces: “yay I can eat whatever I want and nothing will hurt”
Me after: “fuck life. Can’t chew gum and most chips, all popcorn, some hard chocolate and comfort foods are now off limits”

in the late 1970s I had metal bands that fit completely around the tooth. It took four years to completely move things around. At least my parents found an orthodontist that didn't immediately want to yank out teeth like what happened to some of my friends. I will say it worked. My teeth ended up looking pretty good.
lucky you I removed 4 premolar and now there is too mcuh space in my mouth kinda regret goin to that orthodentist :(

braces pain depends on the person. I actually experienced a small amount of pain. They only hurt when they used power chains to tighten them. Braces only felt uncomfortable. I am so grateful I had braces a few years ago. I am much more confident about my smile and my teeth. They are not a nightmare at all even if they hurt. They are a blessing and a privilege. Braces arent cheap.

Had my one almost 5 years now... my bite still ain't fix... I had a expander to turn 3 times a day. And now when I go to my appointments he uses a blade to shave my teeth down... one of my teeth smaller than the other one now😭😭 with a gap because of that
I've had my braces for over a year now, one more year to go !! loving the process minus the pain though

That's actually Topical LA, like a numb cream. It's effectiveness lasts for couple of minutes only.

Thing that's the lost bothersome is that you constantly have to think about what youre eating and if you cleaned your teeth well enough. Something I'd also wished to know before was how they tear up your cheeks so you gotta use wax which is alsp annoying to always put on and make sure it stays there/it is fully gone when you clean your teeth. Braces definitely arent a total nightmare its manageable its just not fun or to underrestimate. I guess certain things youll grow used to over time. Also icecream may help some but for me for example it was that my teeth were super sensetive to the cold even inhaling through my mouth sometimes hurt.

I have overbite and obviously not straight teeth, i decided to choose aligners bc i'm kinda because of what you said and because i'm scared of the way they get them on and off. I was supposed to get my first aligners 2 days ago but something went wrong and they are late.
I HATE that i will wear ortho rubber bands but even If i chose braces i would wear them.
@noes too....I agree with you. And I feel ya on the sensitivity part. My braces cam off in August of last yr. While the braces were on, my teeth were sensitive to cold items. Sad to say, they still are to this day. But if I had a choice between braces and these retainers, I'd Rather Go back to the braces. I don't care for these retainers lol.
to anyone who has wire parts at the end of their braces tearing up their mouth, me and my friend just got a metal nail file and filed it down and it was fine
we never bothered with the wax (well i certainly didn’t, i tried and couldn’t be bothered while hers was like yours and just wouldn’t work)
@@alesha394 true, idk wax is definitely a life hack to some while others dont need it I think depends on how your gums and cheeks are shaped/in place because some ppl just have small mouths or gums so the cheeks are more directly against the braces wire or not. The only thing you can really do is chew carefully so the metal doesnt pull or rub harsh against your inside cheek or when you use wax at night dont hold back on the amount. It helpes gettting the spot as dry as possible and then just pushing a little ball of wax over it. Thats the longest it would hold for me. Good luck to anyone out there, being miserable and pessimistic about it certainly wont help it may not be as bad of a nightmare as everyone likes to agree on and its only temporary anyway it will be worth it.
I heard that they will put in screws on your gums? Is that for every type of braces or only for some types of braces installation and if so, what are the types are require it?
yes it’s true but they only put screws if your teeth are completely out of place so if your tooth is hanging lower than the rest they will put a screw that will pull it in to place the screws just help with movement . But if your some like me who has a bit of an overbite or underbite and some tiny spaces and shifts . Then traditional top and bottom braces with regular ties should be all you need.

everyone’s body reacts different to braces. some get to get straight teeth or fix an overbite/underbite. i currently have them on to fix an overbite i have.. it’s literally not bad.. just take pain killers before going to ur appointment so when they tighten ur braces it won’t hurt as much
Looks like the patient is a really good one and kept their tongue back. When I was getting mine done they had to give me a tongue blocker and they like shoved it and in one of the people who have to like constantly swallow so I wasn’t very cooperative 😅

in the first 2 hours you don't feel anything but after it starts to hurt.eat soups because you can't even close your mouth bc of the pain.For me it took about a whole week for the pain to go away.It will hurt so use Tylenol or ibuprofen

You can eat anything you want but in small bites and chew slowly in starting days, my orthodontist suggested me painkiller but i didn't take as i figured out my one side is not that painfull
