      This is a nice boat for several reasons, plenty of deck space for tenders/toys, lots of utility room for compressors, bottles, extra battery banks, etc, having that rear door with only a few steps is VERY nice for scuba bottles, lugging those all the way up a full deck is not fun. Surprised it doesn't have the John Deere/Cat engine systems like other older Berings. The way I would "fix" the TV in the salon is simple, mount a roll down silver screen in front of the stairs and ceiling projector. You have a TV as big as the entire wall. Easy ship to refit for someone that wants to live aboard or spend a large bit of time on the water. Great find! I like how proud Victoria was, "we found you a Bering for sale!".

    • @zldsar14
      @zldsar14 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@snoopstp4189 100% with you on the screen and projector. For the engine the boat is not that old to have the Deere or CAT. Also it is sometimes an owner choice. If I built one today and had the choice, I'd go with Deeres in an hybrid configuration with electric engines like on the 77' Bering, I think It was.

    Beautiful ship. 10 years old? Shows how ahead of the game Bering yachts are. Either of the bedrooms could be the master but I think Rico is right. Another great tour of a beautiful ship that seems way bigger than a 60 footer. Your 75 is going to be massive!!

    This is a great little ship, you can definitely see the beginnings of the of the B70 in it's design of wheelhouse and windows. Very cool. And that Seakeeper, hell yeah. It's really cool to see how the designs of the ships have grown. As Alexi has said - always developing and improving.

    I was thinking the forward bedroom was the master but it doesn't have good hanging space , so i think the midships cabin is the master even with the "interesting "design of being only 3/4 size of the beam of the boat. I think the kitchen is a little small too but I love the outside areas and the flybridge is massive. Thanks for the tour .

    I am amazed at how spacious this relatively small yacht is for its size. There is extra space everywhere, in the halls, in the state rooms, in the heads, and don’t get me started about the standing room in the crew quarters. And that engine room, wow! Absolutely amazing. I usta like Nordhavn's as well. Until I stumbled across Nordhavn Facts. It's on YT. I watched the delivery video of the N120, Aurora, from China, and looked further. The owner, I think he owned 2 previous Nordhavn's, was seriously unhappy, took them to court. When, in a deposition, you call your buyer, a guy who gave you many millions, a stupid a**hole, you'll never get my recommendation. Check it out yourself. Plus (minus?), they're fiberglass... I'd rather have steel. Just my opinion as an internet dweeb. Watch this video on YT, it's primarily pictures the surveyor took. "The condition of the Nordhavn 120", I just watched it again, and ask yourself would I wanna take this boat anywhere?

    • @cindyreid6404
      @cindyreid6404 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasbeirne8213 I like the steel as well plus, the anchoring system is set up much better amongst many other features Nordhaven doesn't offer that seem to come standard on the Bering. The interior blows the doors off all LRC's I've looked at. I'll look up that delivery of the Nord.120 sounds interesting, thanks.

      I like the classic look this ship has, the gaudy modern metal and gloss black walls are not for me. The one thing the newest Berings have that I would really like to have on this one is the generator on the mains, that's just a no brainer engineering design, along with a nice set of solar panels and LiPhos battery banks.

    Even after 10 years this is a good looking boat, well taken care of. It's definitely in great condition.

    About the lights flickering, it's because the lights run on AC power and literally are turning on and off at the same frequency as the electrical grid on the boat and the shutter speed on the camera is likely faster than the frequency of the electrical, so there are frames where the light is literally off, as the camera sees it. If the shutter speed was slowed down a lot, probably to something like 1/60, then you would not see the flickering on camera, though of course that would massively blow out the image as it increases the exposure

Also, having walk-in access to the crew head from the engine room has a lot of advantages when the engineer has had to do some sweaty or oily work for any reason, right? :)

    Bering produces such exquisite, practical explorer yachts, especially amenable for owner/operators. I personally would add solar to the fly bridge overhead & deck house, change out all batteries to LiFePO & explore the possibility of vertical wind generators & a Kite Sail for extended cruising. Excellent 👍 video as always 🥰 Oh, I would designate the midship port cabin as the Primary due to layout & seakeeping qualities. The stbd. Salon area would be set up for audio & A/V projector use; Marine Starlink + WiFi6e Network installed as well.

    Having in mind that those Cabins are pretty equal, I‘d choose the aft one to be my primary for the following two reasons:
    Even though this vessel already is really stable, having the Aft Cabin would reduce pitching even more.
    Besides that the roomy square layout of that cabin would make this cabin feel just a little more luxurious to me.
    Since to me there is no region on this planet more beautiful then 🇳🇴 and me been a person that’s more comfortable in colder weather, I‘d try to have this vessel located in Bergen ❤️

    Great tour as always. The forward cabin is the master, full beam. The cause of the lights appearing to flicker on camera would take an electrical engineer and an optical engineer to fully explain. Put in lamens terms, it's man made, and always subject to imperfections.

    • @johanneslaxell6641
      @johanneslaxell6641 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Making video in HD means that the fps (frame per secound) can be the same as the Hz ("swing" oer secound). Because of the fact that the light is probably 240V AC, not 24V DC it serms to flicker. Something like that 😉...

    • @samo81
      @samo81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lights flicker when the shutter speed of the camera is faster than the electrical hertz. A shutter speed of 1/40th would eliminate the flickering. Depends on the camera if that is controllable.

But then I became aware of Bering and there is just something about them that would probably mean the cheque would be made out to Bering. Viewed this boat on yachtworld and thought its a great boat to update a little then noticed it in the back ground, I think, in the 77 video you did and sort of was hoping you'd do a video. Thanks !!

      If I were fortunate enough to be able to afford a boat like this and decided on a Nordhavn I too would prefer and errr towards trying to find and buy, or commission a build of, a twin engine set up not the big engine, little engine approach. Only thing I think the video could have illustrated more was the access to the engine sides as servicing on those engines in this Bering 60 must be a bit of a pain.

    I hate to say this, but I'm actually enthralled with this yacht!!! This Bering 60 has everything I would ever need to cruise the world with. I would home port in Victoria B.C. Canada visit friends in Cabo in the Winter and from there through the Panama Canal into the Caribbean and from there up to Nova Scotia and across the Atlantic to England. Or,....from Cabo or San Diego at a slow 6.5 knots to gain some extra mileage and bound the Pacific to Hawaii to visit friends and from there maybe Guam and the Commonwealth of Mariana Islands, or to the Philippines (more friends) and then down to Australia (even more friends) and then who knows? I've always wanted to go to Antarctica and then come back up the Pacific side of South America and maybe even keep heading North to Alaska (Kind of a Micheal Palin Pole to Pole adventure). There's not much you couldn't do in a Yacht like this! And I even like the layout, although I'd take the Midship cabin as the master, better sleeping at the middle of the boat. Great episode guys!!!

    Of the tours of your's I've watched in the last month, even the B.145, I think that forward head (as far as Ive got in the video so far) is probably the only one big enough for my 6'4" 300# frame to feel comfortable in. Everything else I look at and wonder how I'd even squeeze into the head much less the shower. This one actually looks useable.

    GREAT yacht!! I do only have one hesitation however... With the engines mounted so low, how is servicing? To me, that was the only thing I didn't like so much about the whole boat. I Actually really like the open salon since it's SO reconfigurable! There's plenty of storage elsewhere on that boat. Don't need a settee or any permanent furniture there. I think a (small..) upright, probably electric piano against the back wall for some home brew tunes with a comfy swivel/reclining chair nearer the staircase would be amazing in that open space! One could also put in some night shades and have a pull down movie screen and projector setup in that salon for that TV/Movie sort of entertainment, just have it retract somewhere at ceiling level. To be completely honest though, I love the lack of TV's on this boat. Who buys a 60' hyper capable explorer yacht to just sit in it n' watch TV! If you have bad weather? Pull dark shades, drop the screen and movie time!! Otherwise enjoy the lack of distractions and let the GIANT windows out to the ocean be your television. As far as the "master debate" technically, I think Rico is correct since the forward suite is more set up for 2 sets of everything, but personally if it was mine, I'd have that be the guest suite since it's more traditionally laid out as a master IE better for guests, and I'm a single Pringle LOL! I'd personally use the midship for my own as it has a proper hanging locker, a small desk/workspace, and more critically even though this is almost a 100 ton behemoth, it's in the center of the boat so you'll have less movement! I'd probably owner/operate this boat as well, so I'd make that crew space into more of a convertible arrangement, so it could be storage or beds, with a clear path of course to the engine room for obvious reasons. I'd also have that crew head be the day head, unless plumbing in a proper toilet/shower is possible in that flybridge "mystery room" if you will haha!

      Yeah, I concur with most of your comments, absolutely. The big question for me would be the accessibility to the engines. That's a concern. But, they're Cummins diesels. The main thing you have to do with them, ordinarily, is oil changes. And they've thought of that with the oil change system. They don't break. I remember in a previous video Alexi mentioned about rebuilding the engines, something to the effect of "That's your grandchildren's problem". 😀 If I had the money, I'd buy it.

    • @Nick-im3sm
      @Nick-im3sm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thomasbeirne8213 Break, they don't typically internally I agree. But in my experience with basically all diesels, they do tend to develop leaks, belts need changed, pulley bearings on the front of the engine go out, shaft maintenance for the boat needs to occur occasionally,.. lots of things that need to happen periodically are buried deep in that hole. Having access to such things is pretty key. Maybe there's a way to pull up subfloor panels for such things? Idk.. Mainly why I ask! Still a great boat though.

    • @thomasbeirne8213
      @thomasbeirne8213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Nick-im3sm
      @Nick-im3sm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasbeirne8213 It's the little things that add up to try n' be major aggravations. Haha! The semi-good news is, it looks to me that if someone did have a leak or a lower engine issue, you could put a folding engine hoist in the engine room (or pay some $$, have a small 3k rated gantry setup installed since the ceilings in there are so high) which should allow you to pull an engine to do more major work if/when needed without having to enlist expensive outside services which often have long waits these days.
