Have you checked out the xfiretactical optic mounts yet? They are extremely light & affordable, I have the latest model, I believe gen 3 & I love it, its a very simple design too. Might be a great idea for a video if you can get a hold of one!
I have a gen 1 handguard like that for my side folder type 81, and I swear to god the detent spring for the gas regulator was out of a pen. replaced it with a cut down spring from a savage 64 trigger, now it'll actually hold the gas setting from being switched by the slightest bit of pressure
If anyone is seeking to buy the rear picatinny mount for their Type 81, be aware; the clamp loosens after X amount of shots fired and the mount falls off. I even tightened the allen key screw to ensure the clamp wouldn't loosen, and it still didn't work.
Hey I make extended charging handles for the type 81 I was wondering if I could send you out one? I don’t ever expect you to make a video on it so it’s not that kind of thing it’s just a thank you! Your videos inspired me to get a type 81 in the first place and mod it I’ve sold roughly 250-260 now they hold up very well and I had a few people mess it up on install but that’s about it
thanks for the offer and you are doing a good thing, providing more accessories but charging handles are kinda small, not worth making a vid over. im already back logged, i got rifles i bought early in the years i havent reviewed yet. im more interested in alloy mounts, HG and stock attachments.
Hello, I figured out a way so cleaning rod doesn't keep falling out. I put a m4 nut and 2 spent 22lr shells , one drilled out on both ends to allow cleaning rod to slide thru in front of m4 nut you press fit into handgaurd , non drilled one to the back open end towards m4 nut , then cover it with epoxy. 22 lr shells are to prevent epoxy from entering m4 nut , I send a pic if you have email. Tools needed hammer , punch , drill, 1/4 bit and jb weld
What holds the gas regulator selector from spinning wild? The little leaf spring that held it in position is part of original gas tube shroud. Just to confirm: Cant clean T81M without full disassembly?
Cant speak for him but in my needs/wants if I have to back out allen keys to clean the gun I dont want it. I dont care at all about the upper mount, only the lower@@gnutzguy
its bad enuff to screw on 4 screws with a tool, now, you want me to loctite them? no thanks. i will stick to me one quick release lever on my custom 3 pin side scope mount.
Should have watched this before i bought mine It is a shit handguard, dont retain zero, add a bunch of weight, the screw have a tendency to "strip" With a gun in 7.62x39 that you need to clean a lot especialy the gas block it is a shit design that require too much disasenbling. And it dont retain zero, and with enough removing and putting in the screw just fail. Ohh one time under recoil and a lot of shooting everything went loose also. So i put back the wooden handguard. So i got a 200 dollar paper weight and a fancy 600 dollar red dot for nothing...nice😂
Glad to help, seems to be lots of little differences in the models of the 81. Always en joy watching ur content and always find it helpful.
many thanks.

Please also take a look/review at delta dynamics' side mount , seems good quality and love to support a local small business.
sure IF they send one to me.

I'm not surprised with the Picatinny mastermount. Thanks for sharing
Can u do a video on disassembling the top handguard
you mean remove the wood from the top HG? then no, bcos i havta drill out the three rivets.
@@gnutzguy no, as in after installing the new mlok rail so you can clean the gas block

Looking for a CH for my rifle. Where can I find your stuff?
Do you have a Sub 2000? There is a rifle you can get Nutz with

i dont use steel cleaning rod bcos it damages the bore. i removed them. only use them for display purposes, lol.

there is a plunger in the rail that holds the regulator from spinning. yes, you can remove the upper rail for cleaning.
Does the bottom handguard work with the original wooden gas tube cover?
nope, you havta mod the original top HG,
Would this work on type 81m underfolder?
@@IDFCClan yup. It will.
Man my sigmaco quad rail is such a better design. Man I'm lucky to have bought it.
agreed.
and the kicker i noticed is you still keep the cleaning rod on the 81m
Any mount that has to be removed to disassemble the rifle is a fail, even if it costs $200.
No, the proper term is the more parts that is required to disassemble a rail is more to fail at holding zero.

greeting. would you mind share the name or keyword of that $50 rail?
i just checked and there seems to be no quad rail avail of any kind.
If you have problems with screws coming loose…use some thread locker. Not the permanent stuff but the stuff that will hold but you still disassemble
