The Type 81 LMG is a Chinese made rifle that is non restricted in Canada. It's in 7.62x39mm, it uses 5 round stick or drum mags. 00:00 Intro 02:41 Simulation 04:20 Range footage 04:44 Conclusion
Most important piece of info: The LMG version has a heavier barrel to withstand more sustained fire. If you don't like the look of the stock and bipod, both are removable.
You'll get more life out of the barrel. I think it'd make a fine hunting or target rifle as well if you remove the bipod and carry handle. Might get a little more accuracy out of the longer barrel but probably not noticeable
Just a tip to y'all who own this rifle. When storing it in a case, make sure the folded bipods do not touch the front part of the handguard or it will scratch it when the bipods are squeezed together, I almost scratched mine.
@@mitch9186 if only they made the bipods a bit shorter, and then make shorter 20 round mags so the rifle can be shot in prone position since we are all pinned to 5 anyways. And don't make me get started about the welded drum.
@@mitch9186 make sure u cut the weld properly and maybe try to fit all the rounds in b4 pinning just to make sure it functions to spec in case of an apocalypse lol
according to chinese army report document, its more accurate than SKS, because chinese army require new rifle more reliable than Type 56, more accurate than SKS.
@@axelord4ever Thanks, that's sorta what I figured. It's not a bad thing and I sense it's doing what it's designed for, which is to be a "reasonably" accurate rifle that's a service rifle. Personally I like my range toys to at least be capable of 1moa even if that means good custom reloads, that way I know when it's a big group that it's me haha.
@@brandonvignando3955 They really are designed to be _Minute of Man_ rifles. You' hit center mass of, well, anything up to 300m without issue. Wouldn't be good for stalk hunting, obviously, but might still serve if you have a clean shot at relatively close range.
@Hof Not that guy, but the folder is more fun to shoot in my opinion. LMG is a good benchrest gun, but definitely not a good option for going into the woods.

Really enjoying your channel and your website, with detailed reviews. Thank you for your work!
Anyone else prefer the look of the regular Type 81 to the LMG one?
They both look cheap
Wish I could get a new 1 . Used 1s are stupid expensive
@@scottbuckley6578 tell that to an American who loves Norinco AK’s better than any other, basically the same gun
@@1991tommygun I will when I get the chance
I'm keeping my LMG 'as is' as much as possible, but my folder is getting pimped to heck and hella back.
I love that gun so much!
And I wish the Type 81 has reintroduce. :)
Woah awesome! Pretty
I see the electric tape on the sling. That's what's been on my mind since I put one of these chicom slings on.
Loved the simulation humour!
The rifle version is more practical for target shooting or hunting even. This is in the realm of being a collector's piece I feel.

Hi Adriel, How much does the rifle weigh without the bipod and handle?
5:41 video with 2:00 dedicated to Tarkov, I knew there was something that I liked about you Adriel (:
Was wondering how you’d go about zeroing the lmg iron sights and the distance I’ve tried everything and can’t seem to get it
Great video. Been wondering about one of these. Have you seen anyone use one in 3 gun yet??
Nah, the 5 round mags are a disadvantage for 3 gun. You'd have to have a huge rig

Yeah what a dumb design. I always put a microfibre over them to protect them

Why add the music? I never understood why people do that
I dunno, my kid just started adding it.
That gun is back in service in Chinese armed forces although it was once phased out because the 5.8mm LMG can't do the job Type81LMG done!
I thought it was always in reserve service? Are you saying they brought it back to service the entire PLA?
5 round drum mags just make me laugh (and cry)
Welcome to Canada
Is there any generalization as to the accuracy? Were you get 1-2 MOA, 3-4 MOA and etc.

@@outman6207 haha fair enough. I was more wondering if the gentleman talking about it had any experience based on his first hand using it.
They are 3MOA guns on a good day, with median ammo.

tarkov for life
These are awesome guns, Very much AK like
I prefer the t81 LMG with a t81 folding stock and without folding bipods&carry handle. that's going to be a good IAR.
