  • The latest Camry, with increased horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission, coupled with a host of luxury features, plus having the full complement of Toyota Safety Sense features and being Apple Car Play and Android Auto equipped moves to the top of the heap for the D-segment Japanese sedans, and at the same time, it will now take a nip at the Continental brands that offer so much less for a little more money or offer similar features while costing a whole lot more.
    This is possibly the best Camry to date, and the drive train is similar if not the same as the Lexus ES250 ; not as luxurious, perhaps but definitely offering the best bang per buck.
    The TNGA platform offers superb ride comfort while also promising excellent agility and driving dynamics.

    Camry has improved a lot in the handling department. Gone are the days of using 215/60/16 tyres which was super comfy but floaty at higher speeds to now using 235/45/18 which offers a firmer ride.
    But how does the comfort level feel like to the taukey who wants to he chauffer around

    • @royalprince5878
      @royalprince5878 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes man. Old Camry was very ridiculous. 215/60/16 is obviously comfort biased. With too softly sprung suspension. I remember sitting in one. Tak boleh tahan la that ACV41. Too floaty, wafty, membuai2 and excessive bodyroll. High speed is worse especially going over undulations. Handling ke laut.

    • @royalprince5878
      @royalprince5878 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      New one is the best. Toyota is heading towards performance and dynamics. TNGA platform with rear double wishbone suspension combine with 235/45/18 wheels is magic. The ride is much firmer in a good way. Supple enough for poor roads yet firm enough for cornering and dealing with undulations. If I can remember, It's just a little softer than Arteon on its softest setting. That's good.

    Uncle Khong, Thanks for sharing. Toyota always reliable car, no doubt. May I give one comment, price wise a bit stiff almost 200k, based on the current price, may able to get continental car (C segment), especially BMW always get special offer, rebate and 5 years free service and parts or Mercedes pre-own. Long story short, regardless Camry gives high-end material, but price wise too competitive with continental car. If the Toyota Camry price stay like those day between 150k (2 liter engine) than you may see lots of Camry on the road. Currently can't see much current Camry on the road, same goes to Honda Accord as well.

    • @royalprince5878
      @royalprince5878 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Instead of Conti C segment rather go for D segment Passat. Because customers looking for Camry segment look for outright comfort, space, practicality. The rear wheel driven Compact Executive C segment sedans don't offer that.

    • @chriswon6779
      @chriswon6779 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@royalprince5878 So long Conti C segment able to produce decent comfort, space, practicality versus camry, it should be fine. Firstly, the most important is to understand market needs. Does current market look for comfort, space, practicality? or brand and price worth. Obviously could see on the road Conti C segment more than Camry. If the person are the company Executive level or Business man, do you think they will choose Toyota Camry or Conti C segment.

    • @yangerek78
      @yangerek78 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chriswon6779 if i am looking for a comfortable in the price of the new Camry why should i settle for kess? Less spece less power output unless u need to top up more and furthermore do take note that C segment conti car u bought will less most of its value a few months down the road

    • @chriswon6779
      @chriswon6779 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yangerek78 Point 1. Less power is not an issue, so long decent power not under power, that's fine because we are not compete F1, all of us aware Malaysia maximum speed 110. Moreover Camry is 2.5cc road tax wise certainly will pay more than conti C segment. Point 2. What is the purpose to buy car, if the consumer want to buy car just for few months to sell it better rent a car, regardless Conti c-segment or Camry secondhand value more or less the same. To be honest RM 200k car could get lots of option in the market. Take a look right now, brand new Camry not many on the road. I'm still think price wise of Camry abit high. Don't get me wrong, Toyota still a good car is just the pricing strategy. Point 3. Now a days consumer looking for decent price but branded car, smaller engine but decent power, 5 years free service & part's (Hassel free), less road tax. That's why few years back continental car meet consumer criteria (point 3) the objective want to take the market share of Camry and Accord.

      @@chriswon6779 I'm the authentic business young man 25 years old this year but I choose Camry over Conti C. My main concerns is NVH, comfort, hassle-free that's why I chose Camry. 218i, X1, A200 and C200 just not my type tbh I would rather jump onto 5 series or E class instead at a later date. Still using the old dinosaur engine, with no turbo while almost every new car in the world are turbocharged, and with that kind of price, people will go for a recon C Class or E Class which is 10 years ahead of this old dinosaur with new bodykit. 10 years ago there were tonnes of Camry on the road, now, literally none because of the nonsense pricing.
