    Great presentation of a bass pedal board and how each one produces a special sound/tone. I know have a much better understanding of a pedalboard. Thanks James!

    Thanks for the video! I've just taken my board apart again and are rearranging it again. It's a never ending project! The two workhorses of my board are my tuner and my Rolls Personal Monitor (which gives me in-ear monitors). After that, I have an A/B switch because I sometimes swap between my guitar bass and an Eminence electric upright bass. Probably going to have to get the AirTurn and probably need to look at the Radial as well. The one pedal that isn't always on my board, but I use a bunch at home is a Boss ME-20B multi-effects rig. It lets me experiment with a lot of sounds and then figure out what I might want. I do take it on gigs every so often, just to add some fun stuff to a few songs. Also have a looper at home to loop some stuff to practice over.

    My fav set-up right now is the poly going into the ebs compressor, then the tc electronic brainwaves, keeley modded sparkle drive, ebs octave, ehx epitome, VT bass v2, ending with the mooer bass sweeper.
    As you can see, I kinda like to play around with pitch shifting and octaves....

    Perfect for me.

    Well, depending on the style, I use one of my two pedalboards.
    My metal board is quiet simple:
    Polytune mini (black), darkglass hyper luminal (black), a b3k (black) and an Sansamp (black).
    My second, more pop/HipHop oriented board is way more complex. But basically:
    Boss TU-2, ebs comp, dod Meatbox, 2x boss oc2, EHX bass synth, way huge pork&pickle, eq pedal, boss dd5, Aguilar tonehammer.
    So basically a synth like board.
    After reading my first part, I’m feeling like Jake Blues, when he got his stuff back from prison. 😂

    I have a similar designed board. I also wanted to incorporate other few re e.g. chorus, flange, etc but wanted to keep my pedal board as compact as yours. I therefore have a line 6 hxone which incorporates many more options but you can only use one at a time. As I have octave and preamp (revolt bass) this works perfectly for me and as it also incorporates a tuner means I swap it out for the space you out with your tuner and fits in great

    My current board and signal path.
    Bass>TC Electronic PolyTune 3 Noir>BBE Sonic Stomp>KMA Audio Machines Tyler The Frequency Splitters. (It gets a bit more complex from here) I run the hi-pass send to an Amptweaker TightDrive Bass Overdrive and back to the KMA HP return and I run the the Low pass send to a Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor and then back to the LP return of the KMA. The output of the KMA goes to my Countryman DI and to my Amp. A Hartke LS500 with a Hartke XL 4x10.

    TU-2, MXR Envelope filter, EBS Octabass, EBS Wah One, Boss CE-5 Chorus, MXR Phase 100, Ampeg SCR-DI powered with a One Spot on a Pedaltrain.
    Fun fact; EBS makes the best pedals…or maybe Fulltone. Worth the extra $$$.
    The EBS Wah One is really cool because it’s like an envelope filter controlled with the wah pedal, insanely cool!…

    Where would you add Compression and Wah pedals? I have a Korg-mini tuner, Morley Bass Was, MXR env. filter, Boss bass chorus, TC Electronics Spectra compression, Aguilar DB925 preamp and a Voodoo Lab 2-plus power supply, all on a Gator pedal board . I had an EBS OctaBass, but it crapped out on me.

  • @Leo-Bassment
    @Leo-Bassment ปีที่แล้ว

    Super fun! Can’t wait to start doing my very first pedal board ! At the same time, isn’t the bass simply supposed to sound ‘bass y’ and fat, clean sound without too much effects like a guitar ? Should we have a different pedal board for different genres of music ? Or a pedal board that can do it all ? 😅

    • @teresaravenshaw5477
      @teresaravenshaw5477 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Leo-Bassment Effects are really desirable for a multitude of genres, and depending on what genres you're playing and effects you want for those, you may either choose to build a larger board that does it all or have separate boards for different things. Now, beyond having some form of tuner, a compressor would be almost an essential. Me, I play post-punk and goth exclusively and my minimalist board contains a tuner, compressor, chorus, flanger, delay and a preamp with a drive function and XLR out; which fits my sound well. Effects are fun! Now, you could try a multieffect unit, which could do it all.
