With the recent changes, is Night Fae still going to be the pick if you want to Mythic+ only up to 15 and get gladiator in Arena with any of the specs? I don't want to feel gimped in pvp not being Venthyr, but I don't want to pick a covenant I don't like as much just to have an edge in pvp that might not even be necessary
If I were you, I would choose whatever covenant I like the most. However, if you are pushing for gladiator and feel held back by your covenant choice, you could then swap based on that, and it doesn’t take toooo long. Also, if you just want to do up to +15 each season then you can honestly choose whichever covenant you want!👍 Best of luck! Hope you are excited for shadowlands :)
Perfect vid its exactly where i am. I will only play frost or fire, prefer frost. Mainly raid but also pushing m+ keys. I only want one covenant for the expansion (hopefully). I think overall i will go nightfae, i prefer the asthetic, and considering we will be there for a few years it has to be a place i enjoy. The only thing that could push me venthyr is if it was significantly better for all scenarios, but i guess it would be nerfed in that case.
@@akinney123 hi, a couple days before shadowlands release they nerfet the night fae covenant ability to be a 1 minute cd instead of 45 sec, and it also provided now a smaller cooldown reduction than before. I wonder if venthyr would be a more definite "to go" covenant for not only frost but maybe also fire, since fire mages were quite balanced in single target sims regarding covenants. I'm still a few days from 60 (in-game) so I guess I can wait with the choice.
I only Play Arcane Mage I don't multi Spec, Would Kyrian not be better further down the road for Arcane? I know it scales with Mastery and later on the Conduit for Radiant Spark is really good. Or is Night Fae Cool Down to OP with Arcane Power and Touch of the Magi?
Current sims show that night fae outperforms kyrian even at the highest conduits available this tier. So that is what I based my decisions off of, but maybe in future tiers kyrian may take over. At least for now it appears night fae will be the best. Also, if you plan to do m+ as night fae, you should check out korayn. That soulbind is so damn good for m+ bc of the crit bonus at the end of the tree 👀
I am first time playing mage. Will I have a hard time finding random groups as frost? Everyone says something else regarding nerfs, buffs, etc. and it is kinda confusing and overwhelming. The content I wanna do is Raid and M+.
Definitely a possible choice. I would be careful though, since the one soulbind is single handed lay carrying the covenant haha, so it may get nerfed due to other classes over preforming with it :/

Overall I'm really frustrated about this, I dont like the meta covenants. I mostly play arcane but not way am I going fairy, I wanted necrolord as I believe this covenant has the best aesthetic but I dont want to be laughed at going into m+ or raiding. Also I feel being tied into one spec for the sake of the meta is awful for players wanting a break from their current rotation. Anyone else feeling my pain?
This is exactly why additional powers shouldn’t exist. Pandaria expansion was great because it was simple had talents only was alt friendly and spec friendly and had good content via leveling zone dungeon raids and timeless isle their was plenty to do and once i finished one toon I moved onto a toon may as well kiss the good ole days goodbye cause new blizzard thinks artifacts and covenants and legendaries as our new powers is cool instead of sticking to talents only which is also easier to balance..... good luck with class balance in shadowlands with the added systems
I feel like mages are the Hardest to know what to pick ... I mean they all sims quite close at some point but it feel like frost got hit SO hard ... that omg should I pick NF and be safe even tho I'll lose quite a bite of single but be able to SWITCH spec if needed without suffering ... That really really hard still to pick and here come the NF random nerf XD

I'm really curious as to why people hate on night fae so much. Not talkin about numbers, just the general hate towards the possibility of picking night fae. Is it the aesthetic? Is it the channel? Or is it simply cause they are "fairies" and wow players are just that fragile?
I don't like the aesthetic - I'm an undead mage, I feel like I should be a Necrolord because it's the one I'm most interested in. Nightfae just never appealed to me, so to see it come out on top it's kinda lame.
I consider Venthyr Frost to be stronger in PvP than Kyrian Frost. Also Frost (only playing frost) I think its better to have a button that gives you 3 B.Freezes than to reduce F.Orb , Blizzard and RoP cd. Personally I think I am going to go Venthyr Frost main , as it seems the most logical choice to me only wanting to play frost at least for the first tier. I am either between Venthyr Frost or respecing to shadow since it looks so good and frost keeps getting and getting nerfed.
@@sodermanos6279 That definitely makes sense! The one problem I have with Venthyr PvP is that it is dispellable so it can easily be countered if the other team is smart. For PvE I think Venthyr is definitely the move for Frost only players. Even in mythic plus i think Venthyr is quite competitive and may even be better than night fae in some scenarios. If you are looking to just play frost, I think your decision to choose Venthyr is incredibly wise 👍

Also I am leaning torwards playing Shadow Venthyr as a main for this tier. Which Covenant would you personally choose as a frost only main alt (Except Venthyr , dont wanna double stack on covenants)? Like almost completly doing M+ , no raid , slight pvp. I am really not attacted by Arcane nor Fire, I have been a fire main since 8.2 . It seems that Kyrian would be better than Nightfae , but what's your take on this? Legit content btw! Keep it up!

This may not work in practice for some Kyrian / Necro, but I can’t comment that as I haven’t tried them recently as frost :/ If I were you I would probably pick might fae in case you want to switch mage specs at all. However, if you are dead set on only playing frost and not picking night fae or venthyr, you can really choose whatever. I would probably go with Kyrian in that case as you get extra prio damage. As for how the night fae ability feels as frost. It doesn’t feel that bad to be quite honest. It is especially nice to use during down time!
