Quickly becoming a favourite mage youtube / twitch streamer of mine. Would love more consistent uploads like these. Hard for myself to accept i can't be competitive in the wow raiding scene, researching sims and patch notes all the time like the good old days. So videos like these does this adulting 26 year old a massive favour to know what the optimal direction i should be playing in 👍👍
Idk why but your video actually hyped me to play arcane mage I'm gonna be warlock main in my raiding guild but be sure i'm gonna lvl my mage as an alt in first week Thx man, i appreciate the work Keep it up
Tbh, the 15s cd doesn't hurt your mobility too bad on normal blink and the ability to move while evocation/clearcast missiles is huge for avoiding mana loss/damage loss when you need to move out of the bad. Shimmer just feels like a bad choice now.
that is what i had thought when i started playing arcane, but the problem with blink over shimmer is that you have to spend an entire global to shimmer, and slipstream just is not reliable enough to move when you need to, thus resulting in a massive amount of wasted globals
Resonance gives 15% increase damage to the first target and a extra 15% dmg to every extra target after that. It starts from the first target, not the second.
I raided mythic raids in BFA. I have always been Arcane fanboy. I had to go Fire in BFA but now am tired of it. I was worried that it may of been behind Frost or Fire massively but this makes my choice clear. Thanks. :D
Hey all! If you enjoy getting information through reading, PaleRider has an awesome guide that goes over similar information on Altered Time. PaleRider's Guide: www.altered-time.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7249 Edit: Even though Night Fae was nerfed it is still the best and I will be picking it still :)
Whats the logic behind staying around 40-50% mana in the conserve phase? Im new to current arcane, from reading icy veins I seemed to do pretty well maintaining 70+% after my evocate, even when I was using four arcane blasts followed by a barrage- which also adds to my question, why are you only doing 2-3? Perhaps I havent practiced enough to see these effects, but any explanation on where I'm going wrong would be cool :)
Why would Versatility be prioritized over Mastery? I can understand the debate over Crit vs Mastery, but I don't understand how Vers could ever provide more dps than Mastery when the large majority of your damage comes from your burst phase which Mastery improves.
A lot of the player optimizations are very hard to be determined using logic. That is why we do so many simulations to model the changes in different stats and gear. If you would like to learn anymore about that, feel free to stop by my stream, and I can get into it more there
I've been practicing the ST rotation on a dummy, and I have a question. How do you manage the fact that cooldowns don't overlap well? Here's my scenario (with probably too much detail): Since AP auto-drops a RoP, when AP wears off and you drop the next RoP (45s CD), ToTM is already ~33 seconds from available. Does that mean once ToTM is up you sit on it for 12 seconds to wait for RoP? Assuming yes, after RoP and ToTM are available and used again, they will become available again when AP still has something like 15 seconds CD left. Do I sit on ToTM again for 15 more seconds? What about RoP? Since AP is going to auto-drop another RoP, if I don't use it until after AP then I'm not going to use it for almost 30 seconds after it's become available which feels like a huge waste. But if I use it now, do I use ToTM with it or save that for AP? RoP feels wasted if I'm not using it to boost any particular burst window, but it's also wasted if I don't use it at all... Anyway... I'm sure I made it confusing by being too specific, but I'm having problems deciding when to just use things to make sure they're not wasted, and when to sit on them for optimal usage. Any advice?
So i described it in another comment, but essentially you will not use TotM on cooldown and wait for BOTH rune and TotM to do the mini burn it looks like this if you don’t have night fae 0:00 arcane power 1:00 mini burn 2:00 arcane power 3:00 mini burn 4:00 arcane power hope this helps! if you have have anymore questions my discord server is always open 👍
Which mage will be best in Castle Nathria? I was wondering about Frost/Arcane and i definitely dont want to play fire, dont carwe that much about m+, only raiding
Will arcane be viable for normal and heroic raiding? I understand mythic is a different story but I like this spec a lot and I’m better at arcane then fire or Frost.
Your conserve phase is completely wrong, we Barrage at 4 Charges and as long as we don't overcap mana there is no hard rule about conserving at a specific mana percentage (just have enough for AP and Runes).
Because if you go to far below and don't have enough mana to use a gcd you are basically creating a choke in damage aswell as getting up quicker for mana top up to keep full rotation rolling
Do you think we should use touch of the magi on cooldown ? Or even if it's ready i should wait for the rune of power? Thanks, yes i am new to the mage CE player but i am going to main a DPS for a first time
Tried every version of this and it was useless. Arcane blast does almost no damage and while trying to cast it over and over, the enemy is wiping the floor with me and killing me. Over and over. It may be very effective against training dummies, but not against actual enemies that hit back.
As a new player you explained the rotations better than other guides I have seen! Thank you!
Beautiful guide! Gonna come back to wow tomorrow morning !

Shorel Arcana
These guides are sick, it's really helping me decide which spec I'm gonna want to choose bc I'm still on the fence. Can't wait for the Frost guide!
Glad to hear man!!! Thanks for the support!
I just wanna say, your face is silly ( I love it) , your voice is chill and nice and you tutorials are fun to watch and very good. Keep it up
Usually dont subscribe or like, but you're a really good content creator. Thanks for making the guides!
Really enjoying the videos. Keep em coming.

hahaha cute at the end :) ty
Im on a huge arcane vs frost crisis right now
It’s tough man hahah, luckily we can currently play all of them fairly optimally even with all the borrowed power systems
me too
Venthyr set looks so much best, omg!
Arcane power in Aoe: Onuse-trinket->Touch of Magi-> arcane power->arcane barrage->Arcane orb -> shifting power-> arcane barrage ->arcane explosion x2 -> arcane orb-> arcane barrage ... for massive aoe :)
Arcane For Life!
Hellll yeah
@@hudsonhoch Night Fae got nerfed since this post lol 45sec CD to 1 Min and lost some CDR from 12 Total to 10.

If your NOT NF. are the "Rotation" part still the same just without "Shifting Power"?
Nice video! :)
Excellent vid ty
Very nice. Thnx.
Thanks. Great vid!

Awesome guide, thank you! Is there a way to make your WA package only show if I have a Target or am in Combat?
Yepp! You will want to go to the group for the weak aura, and go to the “load” tab. Then you will click on the in combat button 👍

Cool, when do you normally stream?
6:40 Blizzard changed this to only arcane mage?
No, that hasn’t been confirmed yet. It said something similar on beta, and on beta you could use it on all specs.
@@hudsonhoch Interesting, it does say "only arcane" in the powers section of adventure guide. We will have to wait and see if it was changed.

Does arcane prodigy seem like it's not doing anything for anyone else right now? Am I going crazy
At first it didn't but having 4 charges with arcane power and rune. I had a 38k
Which mage will be best in Castle Nathria? I was wondering about Frost/Arcane and i definitely dont want to play fire, dont carwe that much about m+, only raiding
I think fire and frost will be the best but arcane could be very good on ST if the tuning favors arcane
Will arcane be viable for normal and heroic raiding? I understand mythic is a different story but I like this spec a lot and I’m better at arcane then fire or Frost.
Yeah! It will 100% be viable for both of those, it will even be viable for mythic raiding! Pretty much all specs are tbh
What is the addon in the center of the screen which is keeping track of your cooldowns?
I hope they change venthyr to give clearcasting eventually
How come mastery is so bad? With the new rune/passive thing you would think mastery would be the thing to go after right?
What stats do i need as arcane mage :/
Your conserve phase is completely wrong, we Barrage at 4 Charges and as long as we don't overcap mana there is no hard rule about conserving at a specific mana percentage (just have enough for AP and Runes).
Hey can you comment on NF nerf how will it affect arcane ? Does it make other covenants more viable for arcane ? Or NF still king
nf is still the best
@@hudsonhoch thanks
Time Warp?
Why spam missles during magi
frost coming? arcane is fun but frost is my favorite :3
Yepp! It is scheduled to be posted tomorrow at noon EST 👍

when do i use mana gem? save it so i have high neough mana before burst?
Kyrian not viable?

You must alighn rune and touch, because separate they are not so much of a deal.

aaand then they nerf Shifting Power. RIP
Still the best covenant for arcane by far, starts go become questionable for fire on single target I believe? Still best for multi-target fire.
