    OMG thank you. I just picked up my Ryker yesterday. I couldn't figure out why my turns were so acclerated. Im guilty of the death grip! I'm going to practice in a parking lot this weekend. 👍

    I have never thought about that problem and I can see this could happen to new riders because the force you apply in turning would sometimes inadvertently open up the throttle. This video is very valuable and contributable to new riders and those who are contemplating to getting onto a trike, just like myself.

      Thank you! Trike is a lot of fun, you just need to know things that can inadvertently happen so you can avoid them 😁

    Thank you for posting your video. I am 75 yo and have been riding motorcycles for 65 years. I have had 55 motorcycles over the years, a 2013 Spyder RS, now ride a 2016 F3T Spyder. We recently bought my wife a new 2021 left over Ryker 900 that she has practiced with in a school parking lot. Our next step is to hit the open roads after a little more familiarization in the parking lot. I want her to watch your video as I think it will give my wife some insight as to what not to do. Everyone's lessons are worth sharing for others to know in order to prevent the same mistakes. So far my wife has done well, but things can change due to riding the actual roads and other vehicles share those roads also. When a rider/driver panics they sometimes commit unnatural actions without thinking. As the saying goes "Every little bit helps" and your information cannot hurt anyone for sure. Great info and demonstrating.

      Thank you! Practice time in a parking lot helps me a lot. I hope more familiarization and practice will lead to less panic 😅 I’d glad you find my video worth sharing 😊

    I just got my Ryker and I had to ride it home almost 50 miles without any test drive. I have ridden two wheelers for a while but I knew the trikes ride different. I did watch a lot of videos before getting my Ryker so I was somewhat prepared for the ride. I kept telling myself all the way home “Don’t death grip the handlebars! Another thing I learned is to lean forward into the turns. But it does take some getting used to!

    Reverse throttle grip seems to work best. So push the throttle the opposite direction while turning. As you mention a relaxed grip is also important.

    After years of riding regular motorcycles I bought a Ryker and the biggest challenge was breaking the habit of counter steering when I started to turn. It was very awkward in the beginning.

    I believe a thumb throttle conversion is made for this reason. I remember having a similar issue back when i went from 4 wheeling to dirt bikes.

    My wife loves your vids! I ride two wheels but have been working on Tammy's Ryker to get it exactly how she wants it. Question: can you tell us about your Ryker side tank bags? What brand and where do you get them? I see them on your hubby's Ryker....thank you!

    • @urbandingo6882
      @urbandingo6882  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Grant and Tammy 🤗 I believe the side tank pouches are from Slingmod. My Ryker’s previous owner installed it. I took pictures for you but can’t attach it here 😕 Go to slingmod.com and search Ryker side mount tank storage pouch 🙂

    Your page says you have an Indian Scout also. Looked to me like you may have been counter steering and you may have pressed right to turn right, but it doesn't work that way on Ryker. Your right elbow went up when you were attempting to negotiate the turn to turn right. Just a thought.

    if you cant turn a bike u should be riding it

  • @bitterbitterbitter

    Im gonna be a killjoy here and say that if u cant figure out what went wrong there without having another person explain it to you, then u should not be in traffic. You are risking other peoples safety and should stay on the parking lot until u figure stuff out. Its not a toy....
