    A great tip for everyone is to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE wear your gear. A helmet is most important but not enough. I see Ryker TH-camrs wearing only a helmet and maybe gloves. Even though three wheels increase our stability it is still a motorcycle. We aren’t in cages and if a collision or mishap happens we are getting knocked off the bike just like our two wheel cousins. Full gear (helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, boots) is even more important at highway speeds. I ride on the highway daily and only go one exit down and still wear full gear. Even though it’s one exit an interchange is involved so a lot merging on and off highway traffic throughout my commute. I know the gear is uncomfortable but that’s only temporary vs. prolonged or permanent discomfort. I enjoy watching you guys and want you all in one piece in each video.

    Good solid advice. Not only that, but I really liked how you illustrated the advice with real highway ryding. It’s many years since I first ventured out onto the highway but I still remember how it seemed such a daunting task at the time. You managed to get the information across while at the same time showing that it’s not as scary as you first think. 👌🏻 Ryde Safe Brother 🙏🏻😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Awesome advice, I am in NorCali and I can’t tell you how many people seem to hate motorcycles. I ride with a big distance in front. If there is someone driving too close I switch lanes and let them go by then jump back into the lane that way they may think oh man I was following too close. This is great advice, yes I slow down so others can see me and always get out of harms way I try to stay in the middle lanes. Keep up the good content🙏

    Great advice. I currently ride a Yamaha XMAX 300. I mainly ride backroads. I have rode a couple hundred miles on the freeway at once and find its ok, but I am really reviving at speeds at 70-90. Thinking about getting a Ryker 600 for touring. Do you think you could tour with your Ryker 600? Or are you revving way to high at speeds around 80? I realize a Spider would be better for touring, just more money than I want to spend. I have seen you ride a friends Ryker 900, is that a game changer on the freeway or not that big of a difference.

    I have a 2021 Ryker Rally. The first time ever I took it on the highway over just over 60MPH and with just under 600 miles on the machine I experienced at catastrophic failure of the rear differential whereby the oil seal failed and leaked out all over the place. Now stranded, I called the BRP toll free road service. The flat deck came and picked up the machine but not me. Still stranded to find my own ride, not impressed.
    The machine is fine around town but the CVT transmission is way too loud/buzzy at higher speeds and steering becomes flighty. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't have purchased this product.

    Is it harder riding at night because you have less light coverage

    • @ThrillMouseMoto
      @ThrillMouseMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The biggest difference when riding at night that I see is that your reaction time to what's in front of you is limited to how far your headlights reach. When driving at day I can see a tire re tread piece (..those old bits of tires that fall off 18 wheelers on the highway) from way a head of me since it's bright out and my eyes have a good reach ahead at what's coming. ..But at night time I'll only be able to see it once my headlights spot it and I'll only have that limited time to react. This night time issue might actually be worse off the highway since atleast on the highway there's lamp posts that light up the lanes some. So county roads and stuff like that will just be straight DARK at night, haha. With like deer and little animals that'll mess your Ryker up bad since the clearance is so low.. This is all where the headlight upgrade was important for me on my Ryker. Yo..! Good question ! ..I wish I mentioned this bit in the video.. Thanks for stopping in 💯🐭

  • @marshalllord554
    @marshalllord554 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was on a major highway a few days ago and a partial blown semi tire was kicked up by the vehicle in front of me. Zero time to react. Hit the front corner of my vehicle. If i would have been on a bike, it wouldn't have been pretty.

    • @ThrillMouseMoto
      @ThrillMouseMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good input, Marshall! ..When I drive my car in perfect weather conditions I keep a certain following distance from the cars ahead of me. When it's dark out or raining I increase that following distance. When I'm on my Ryker I increase it even more. ..There are definitely certain road conditions and hazards that just don't fly too well with being on a motorcycle compared to being in a car, so we find ourselves taking certain precautions and stepping up our awareness when on a motorcycle. I find myself not as lax on the motorcycle than in a car and have an increased "street vision", 👀💯🐭. ..or I like to imagine I do, 👍

    Did you mention how much room for improvement there is on protective gear? Instructional videos should lead by example when you want to give credible advice to others, at least in my opinion. Shorts, Tshirt, no gloves... As the saying goes: "Clever riders protect what they want to keep."

    • @ThrillMouseMoto
      @ThrillMouseMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ericn471
      @ericn471 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThrillMouseMoto it’s not simply about the “feeling “ of security but actually providing it to your body. Proper protection and good protective gear is the first thought before stepping on the bike. One mistake is all it takes, and not just us do mistakes but the cars around us too. Protect the limbs you want to keep. Wearing no protection doesn’t save you from others. You’d seriously reconsider your careless approach after your first fall of a moving bike when you see what the environment does to your body without protected arms or legs.
