Well .... the sudden death of beloved "good ones" does help with suspension and plot twists. Not so much with Jason Bourne when it comes to plot twists (there's nothing to twist in a one-against-everybody-set-up, is there ... 😅) but suspension is taken up with every support he loses.

I think they made a mistake killing Nicky. They set her up as a perfect partner for Bourne. Even better then Marie. In Ultimatum she helped but did everything he said. He called all the shots. In this movie she is more confident and even challenging him. Her working alongside him would have made a better story. Once she dies its just a variant of the Bourne Supremacy. In Supremacy he's been in hiding for years, Marie gets killed in front of him, he comes out of hiding, and gets into a car chase with her killer and avenges her death. In this movie he's been hiding for years, Nicky gets killed in front of him, he comes back, has a car chase with her killer and avenges her death. Would have been a better and more original movie if the two of them were working together.

She did not want him to die for her, so she made the ultimate sacrifice, lifting her head while at the same time expecting the shot to propel the flashdrive towards him! THAT is the ULTIMATE IQ move there! She DESERVED better but her love for Bourne would not let her stay in the shadows anymore after she got such an important piece of the puzzle for Bourne to finally know where he came from, why he was recruited! She was in fact the MOST IMPORTANT person in the entire saga for Bourne! Her death allowed Bourne to finally know everything!

Nicky has been helping Bourne since day one and it's really sad to see her gone like this considering her part in the operations everywhere most of the time were behind the scene helping Bourne and the other agents. She sacrificed herself knowing Bourne would be sniped as well if he goes to save her. Glad Pamela didn't end up like her though. This woman is also another ally that would have been a sad and tragic lost if so to happen.

I think one of the major things that disappointed me about this movie, was that David never did what he said he would do in The First Movie. He literally had it within his means to create his own "Creed", and systematically wipe out every single one asset on the Board. ...and now the last connection to his old life has been Severed.
And brought back the only character Bourne connected with... to kill her. Yup. They'd basically run out of ideas. The first 3 movies are a tight arc. The others are best forgotten.
I don't think Legacy was a good movie but I still would've liked to see Bourne and Cross in a movie instead of this. Would've been nice to see them working together and just being super efficient at what they're doing.
Yeah, she did. One of the biggest tip-offs was when the were on the ferry to Tangiers or whatever while they're sitting in the booth she touches his arm and says "It was hard with you". Says it all.
The idea in movies about killing someone or something the character loves isn't new but effective. Even years before the Death Wish movies it's an effective move to draw the audience in because we all want that one thing for that character to do on his or her adversaries. Revenge! It's a no brainer for an effective movie. So far it's been very effective for Keanu reeves in the John Wick movies.
This makes me almost as mad as when they kill Franka Potente at the start of the second film - great characters that didn't deserve to go out like this.

Considering the expense they must have gone to to greenlight this movie, they could have done a much better job with the script.

Really thought it was a huge dickmove to kill her off like this. It was like Matt Damon announcing out loud that he was done with Bourne and we needed to be as well.
I found out this happened prior to the movie, Christ the trailer gives it away, and decided on not seeing it. You did it once to great affect in the second movie so going back to that well just seems lazy. Plus I wanted more to the story of what Niky and Jason were before he lost his memory because they worked well together in the the third movie. So I decided, for me at least, the last memory of the Bourne series was that wry smile on Niky's face when the news said they did not recover the body of Jason Bourne. That was a great ending.
You're missing out this is honestly one of the best movies. Updated shooting and fighting styles to make it easier to enjoy the fights and action as well as the plot is solid for an older bourne who still has all the skills but is also now more experienced.
They did 5 Bourne movies 4 with Matt Damon and I agree that they shouldn't have killed of Nicky but the movies are still better then most action movies and atleast keeping Matt for most of them was great. Just look at the next best movie of the say type of thing the jack Ryan series goes back far a played my multi actors so I kill watch Bourne just as long as Matt is doing it

I hate this moment, it's clear they were trying to recreate the impact of Marie's death in Supremacy but it doesn't work. Marie's death impacted Bourne's character throughout Supremacy and even Ultimatum. Nicky's death only has an impact for a scene or two then she's pretty much forgotten about for the rest of the film. This is an insult to a character who's been there from the beginning and the only other returning character besides Bourne, if you have to kill her off at least make it more impactful. My head canon ends with her at the cafe and smiling at the news Bourne's body has disappeared.
I understand why he gets others involved because it's the only way to determine the who, what, why, when, and how, but, man, he has to see that to involve others marks them for death sooner or later. I would get tired of losing people.

Niky era la esposa de jason antes que perdiera la memoria, no era necesario matarla en el guion. Le daba realismo al personaje.
The Bourne Legacy is just good as any of the 3 first Bourne movies, perhaps even better due the amazing acting we see from Jeremy and Rachel.
This movie however.... and the killing of Nicky, is a slap in the face of the fans..
