I think some people in the comments are missing the point entirely. There’s nothing wrong with losing weight to feel better about oneself or to be and feel healthier-or health reasons generally. However, no one should feel the need to lose weight to be accepted by other people or to feel accepted by others. Certainly the idea is to want to fit in with your peers especially if you’re young. However, in the long run, mentally, it creates a dependency your only motivators is the acceptance of others and anything you do coincides with their outlook. Not yours. I hate to get so deep on a YT video, but people seem to assume that being skinny or thin is the epitome of health when you could be immensely unhealthy and thin. I lose weight without trying because I have an auto immune disease and it often is disheartening to hear people say “oh, you look good” when in reality you’re only skinny because you’re sick. No one should be made fun of for their body and I wish we would normalize that more rather than suggesting we all have to appear a certain way for the masses.
