The assumption that Hyatt is over Slayton based on hope grinds my gears. Slayton has been reliable which counts for a lot. But people aren’t exited about him because he doesn’t have the upside of Hyatt. He will be on the field plenty and will be contributing as he always does. Rant over.

Devito has experience in this system, he won games for this team last year showing a lot of progress. I’m not saying he’s the second coming of Joe Montana but the kid can play. Why does anyone want lock as the QB2 over him ?
Devito is a distraction with all the corny agent stuff but even besides that, he had some absolute garbage games. The team pretty much threw him out there to tank and had him just take deep shots without worrying about regular starting qb stuff like picks and short yardage gains.

Jones's tendencies can kinda point us in the direction as to who that 2nd option would be. I still dont think Hyatt is going to be ready to take a huge chunk of a role going into year 2.

Last year's what ifs: Hawkins sucks - he did Neal sucks - he did DJ sucks - he did DJ and Taylor get injured - they did JMS sucks - he did All the big what ifs happened and we still won 6 games and were close on 3 more. Dabol seems to be able to coach team to play better than parts. I think Dabol has a plan to have Lock play well and have DeVito play backup and draft qb to develop in late rnd1 or rnd2. Getting rid of Wink and Johnson for Bowen and Bricillo were best off season moves.
I agree with everything Awthentik said. Doubling down on past mistakes is becoming a pattern with this front office. Jones' contract and leaving Neal at RT while making Eluemunor play Guard are all red flags. Schoen's quotes on Hard Knocks are also concerning. Giving a player nearly 20% of your team's salary cap without actually knowing if he's the guy is a problem. I'm also worried having 2 speed rush ends will make it hard to stop the run. I'm not overly impressed with Schoen's draft classes either. But if they're going to insist this is not a rebuild we need to see some results. Oh and as a Georgia fan George Pickens was the obvious pick at the time. I like Wan'Dale but you could tell mid way through Pickens' freshman year that he was a future #1 WR in the NFL.
I got love for all of the Giants content creators but I have a special appreciation for Awthentik and MikeTooNice. They know their shit and they're not bias.
I truly believe Daboll wants to get the ball downfield. I hope he figures out how to do it consistently, that’s the only thing that can transform this offense imo.
Im sorry, but anyone knocking the Wandale pick because Pickens was on the board fails to understand how disruptive a player like him would be in the locker room. "Smart, tough, dependable" is more than just a meme. They're one of the youngest rosters in the NFL and there is just as much importance on drafting the person as the player when building a foundation. If an established HC and lockerroom like Tomlin in Pitt can't keep Pickens from being a headache, the likelihood he would be better for a new regime in NYC is an impossibility. How many diva WRs do we see tear teams apart before giving more weight to the person off the field and around the team? Philly collapsed last year in part because guys like AJ Brown, who should be a leader and much better than Pickens, was upset about not getting his touches even when the team was winning. Pickens would need to be the best WR in football to justify his lack of accountability and attitude towards winning over numbers. Especially for a new regime trying to instill a culture.
