Stop changing the goalposts for QBS and consistently stay on one quality the QB absolutely needs. Jalen Hurts will ball out this year, you can see how confident he is under center, how natural and clean his throwing motion is, how he’s reading defenses, all of that just in training camp, all the while throwing 100+ completions and no interceptions. We almost never sent a receiver across the middle, and instead sent 3 go routes to the same sideline while jalen would get blitzed most plays and he has to get rid of the ball before his receivers even had their heads turned around. The coaches could not adapt, and the players tried to take matters into their own hands which the coaches did not like and it caused tension. This season looks much better already, Kellen Moore is helping adapt to the blitz, which was our weakness last year

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are good. Last year they played against 40% of the teams that made the made the playoffs. They played both Superbowl teams the Chiefs and 49ers. They was gased. Just to get a wild card against a team they beat in the regular season. And still had a winning season. If you gave Jalen and the Eagles the Cowboy schedule they go 14 - 3.

The problem last season was the Eagles offensive coach’s didn’t adjust to the defensive adjustments. Every down was a single back set, zero motion to see if the defense was in man or zone, no different lineups to challenge defenses. 70% falls on the coaches & 30% falls on the QB.

The media asked Jason Kelce in week 5 last season why the Eagles offense isn't as effective as it was during their super bowl LVII appearance season. Jason answered that teams aren't letting them do the same things now. Last season Hurts appeared to struggle often with his pre-snap reads, calling his protections, adjusting to the blitz and even decision making. Hurts may have been injured at some point but that issue was kept under wraps. The Eagles have had the best offensive line for the last 3 seasons. One of the top receiving corps in the NFL. The talent on the offensive side has been there. Perhaps you can place blame for last season on the new coordinator and even the head coach, but to me, it always begins and ends with the quarterback. Jalen has so much skill around him this season. He needs to make the reads and adjustments and deliver the ball on time and accurately. I don't think he will need to carry the team this season. His biggest challenge may be keeping all the skill guys happy. I don't believe it's a make or break year for him but it definitely is for Sirianni.

Chiefs fan here. Jalen Hurts is a BEAST make no mistake...unfair criticism in my opinion considering the several other quarterbacks that don't get 1/10th the scrutiny that he gets.
All he has to do is cut down the turnovers (the ones where he directly caused them), command the offense (change things on the fly if he sees something wrong), and just lead this team. Also, stay healthy.
Sometimes, it feels that the media is given a script to follow. It almost seems as if the media, especially Fox, doesn't even watch the games. Just push a narrative that doesn't make sense. Hurts was the MVP favorite with bad coaching and a horrible defense. He turned the ball over more than he has in the past. You would think that he broke the record for most ints in a season or was throwing ints in game clinching moments.

A part of the Eagles downfall last year (as was it said by NFL insiders) was the offensive (with a distinct lack of motion) became predictable & also that Jalen was dinged up the latter part of the season. Having a defensive backfield ranked near the bottom of the league didn't help. The Birds seem to have stocked up in that department in the off-season. Hearing Jalen hasn't thrown a pick during the preseason think is a very positive sign of things to come. The line is working well together & skill players have been looking good, so the offense seems set up well. Retirement of Fletcher & Hassan going to the Jets (sort of..) who's going to step up in the pass rush a big question 🤨. With so many new players in new positions Vic (the D-coordinator) & staff has had a lot of work to do trying to figure out who starts where. Will say listening to Vic Fangio speak reminds me a lot of the late Jim Johnson. His deadpan delivery of honest assessments think fits the Philly audience very well (ex. When asked recently who Jalen Carter reminds him of? His answer "No one yet.." - ouch! 🤭).
Dear Eagle Fans, Jalen Hurts was exposed the 9ers and Nick Bosa not only gave out the blueprint but him not being able to throw against the blitz reading half the field and his first read being looking at the rush was exposed. With the amount of talent the Eagles have, if they remain relatively healthy, anything less than a Super Bowl is a complete failure. This is a dream team.

Acho, you left out 2 key points in Jalen’s college career. 1. He didn’t transfer from BAMA the year after he got benched. He stayed and backed Tua up. 2. When Tua got hurt in the SEC Championship against Georgia, Jalen ca e in and led the team to a victory! Don’t short change Jalen when talking about his college career. That made Jalen who he is, which makes him perfect for Philly!
I think Jalen doesn’t get his full credit because his team is so stacked and you know they love the traditional style quarterbacks. His game isn’t pretty but it’s effective. I don’t think it’s quite as serious as they make it to seem, but I would like to see some improvement from him as a passer of course. Also nobody mentions he was hurt which I know is an “excuse” but Jalen never uses it as one.
Decisive year for #1. The real question for the Eagles is in the back 7 of the defense. Last year, they got torched from week 1, but the offense bailed them out through the first ten games. After that, things got ugly.

I love the composure Jalen holds at all times ,saying that I need too see him figure out the blitz,need to see way better pocket composure and slip around in the box or not just abandoned once he feels any pressure
Eagles D and coaching was the issue last year. Hurts had to play hero ball the whole season.
That was eloquently said by Acho….but if you are “telegraphing punches” as he said then the defense adjusts to it. The problem last season was the Eagles offensive coach’s didn’t adjust to the defensive adjustments. Every down was a single back set, zero motion to see if the defense was in man or zone, no different lineups to challenge defenses. 70% falls on the coaches & 30% falls on the QB.
Acho is exactly right... NFL defenses have figured out Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense. They proved it last season. The media asked Jason Kelce in week 5 last season why the Eagles offense isn't as effective as it was during their super bowl LVII appearance season. Jason answered that teams aren't letting them do the same things now. Last season Hurts appeared to struggle often with his pre-snap reads, calling his protections, adjusting to the blitz and even decision making. Hurts may have been injured at some point but that issue was kept under wraps. The Eagles have had the best offensive line for the last 3 seasons. One of the top receiving corps in the NFL. The talent on the offensive side has been there. Perhaps you can place blame for last season on the new coordinator and even the head coach, but to me, it always begins and ends with the quarterback. Jalen has so much skill around him this season. He needs to make the reads and adjustments and deliver the ball on time and accurately. I don't think he will need to carry the team this season. His biggest challenge may be keeping all the skill guys happy. I don't believe it's a make or break year for him but it definitely is for Sirianni.
Jalen is moving forward with some new tools. Not looking backwards but my defense needs to get stops and the ball back.

As an eagles fan I love these two guys they’re two of our eagle greats who’ll definitely be in the eagles hall of fame and maybe they’ll eventually go into the nfl’s hall of fame hopefully although they’re not 1st ballot and ik they’re opinions can be biased sometimes they still keep it a buck with us I’m hoping hurts is watching what the media is saying and shuts up the nay sayers so I’ll say Jalen listen to these dudes and also your haters and ball out this year keep the turnovers down and just manage the games and be you my guy
Chiefs fan here. Jalen Hurts is a BEAST make no mistake...unfair criticism in my opinion considering the several other quarterbacks that don't get 1/10th the scrutiny that he gets.

Sometimes, it feels that the media is given a script to follow. It almost seems as if the media, especially Fox, doesn't even watch the games. Just push a narrative that doesn't make sense. Hurts was the MVP favorite with bad coaching and a horrible defense. He turned the ball over more than he has in the past. You would think that he broke the record for most ints in a season or was throwing ints in game clinching moments.

A part of the Eagles downfall last year (as was it said by NFL insiders) was the offensive (with a distinct lack of motion) became predictable & also that Jalen was dinged up the latter part of the season. Having a defensive backfield ranked near the bottom of the league didn't help. The Birds seem to have stocked up in that department in the off-season. Hearing Jalen hasn't thrown a pick during the preseason think is a very positive sign of things to come. The line is working well together & skill players have been looking good, so the offense seems set up well. Retirement of Fletcher & Hassan going to the Jets (sort of..) who's going to step up in the pass rush a big question 🤨. With so many new players in new positions Vic (the D-coordinator) & staff has had a lot of work to do trying to figure out who starts where. Will say listening to Vic Fangio speak reminds me a lot of the late Jim Johnson. His deadpan delivery of honest assessments think fits the Philly audience very well (ex. When asked recently who Jalen Carter reminds him of? His answer "No one yet.." - ouch! 🤭).

I'm not even worried about the offense they're going to do their job. If anything you guys should be talking about the Eagles defense that's where the problems lie. I think they're going to be really bad in the beginning of the season but after playing together for like 10 games I think they're going to start getting a lot better.
Acho, you left out 2 key points in Jalen’s college career. 1. He didn’t transfer from BAMA the year after he got benched. He stayed and backed Tua up. 2. When Tua got hurt in the SEC Championship against Georgia, Jalen ca e in and led the team to a victory! Don’t short change Jalen when talking about his college career. That made Jalen who he is, which makes him perfect for Philly!

I think Jalen doesn’t get his full credit because his team is so stacked and you know they love the traditional style quarterbacks. His game isn’t pretty but it’s effective. I don’t think it’s quite as serious as they make it to seem, but I would like to see some improvement from him as a passer of course. Also nobody mentions he was hurt which I know is an “excuse” but Jalen never uses it as one.

Decisive year for #1. The real question for the Eagles is in the back 7 of the defense. Last year, they got torched from week 1, but the offense bailed them out through the first ten games. After that, things got ugly.

Last year was a diwn year for hurts and he was ranked 15 in the top 100. Hurts will have a much better year this year.
