This may be the most high quality SMB1 romhack that I've seen. And I've seen... a few. I hope the people that made this got careers in game design.
Yeah this one was designed really well. My #1 is still Unlimited Deluxe, check that one out if you haven't seen it yet. My video is titled "Modern Super Mario Romhacks are Insane" and I also have one called "They added a SPEEDRUN mode."

My favorite thing about this channel is that you play romhacks that aren't just Kaizo (which i enjoy, but it's not the only thing I enjoy) I love to see creativity in a good rom hack
I love the level design in this hack. It takes serious skill to make a balanced, nice-looking layout that's not too hard and too easy. I'm inspired to go try Mario Maker 2 some more.
I love Romhack Wednesday, and I double love this romhack in particular. It's a real shame they never finished the rest of the Koopalings' games!

This hack has some very nice graphics! The palettes look really good, tiles are well detailed, and all of the enemies are super cute
Video idea: tutorial on the different types of wall-clipping scenarios. I cannot find much online on how to do these. I find these very interesting. Examples: edge of the screen wall climbing/jumping, types of wall jumps (the running one and standing still one), devil's spell, etc...
8:49 that "58" appears to have been the number of coins you had before you collected the lag coin; it seems that it's not just stray coins which randomly show up in the CHR data!

It's funny. When I was a kid I made a rom hack of Super Mario Bros that reskinned Mario as Link. Gave him the short-range horizontal sword shot instead of fireballs, reskinned all the enemies and levels, and even altered the colors. I thought I was so damned good at hacking roms. Then you see stuff like this lol.
Edit: After watching a Kosmic video where he DOES play a Zelda-themed Mario hack, I should clarify that wasn't the one I made. I don't want to even hypothetically take credit for something someone else made.
I love great vanilla hacks like this with on point level design.

The 58 was a glitch of the coin counter when he collected coins at the same time
I thought that might be the case, but he has 56 coins when 58 appears on screen. He had 46 coins, collected 11 for 57, and he stayed at 57 until well after that 58 showed up on screen. As it turns out, that 58 comes from the in-game timer. It appears on screen about when the timer should switch to 258, which it skips - it stays on 259 for two in-game seconds and skips to 257. I don't know why, but that's what happened.
