I think it would be enlightening to actually try to pack the small one completely full & then transfer those same items over to the larger one & see how much extra space you have, or what else you could add! Here's my reasoning: If the larger one is one inch taller & one inch deeper, that's not just two inches... that's two inches all the way around. If it's 22" case, then it's 1" x 22, and 1" x 14" (or whatever the depth/width is), so it might actually hold just enough more to really make it worth it! :-) Thank you for your enjoyable videos! I'm brand new to your channel, but am really loving how you do these and make them fun!

I prefer the cases that unzip on the top edge. Four of us in one room with the sandwich ones that take a lot of room while you’re trying to pack or unpack it was so nice to take up little room on the bed with the top edge zipper. I love the packing cubes in this style case.

I like your doggie! They know that baggage means you are leaving especially if you are packing it. I’m going to try using my bigger carryon for an international flight. I need the little extra room and am afraid of lost baggage and if I need to check it in, I can since I am allowed a checkin bag too.

I just returned from a 5 night Disney trip with the regular size carry on (lavendar) and the everywhere bag. Worked perfectly. I did have to sit on my carry on while my husband zipped to close it, but I got everything in . I need to work on my packing skills because I took too many things.....I took things I never even had the chance to wear... which was just silly since we have a washer and dryer. I loved the bags . I wish I had bought the new everywhere bag, but they didn't have grey which I thought would look so nice with my lavendar carry on Packing cubes also helped

Hi Jen! I love this video and I am a huge fan of my Away Bigger Carry-On Flex. I am definitely on Team Carry On and I pair my Away suitcase with the Away Everywhere Bag. I recently returned from a few weeks in Europe and I did just fine with those two bags and occasional laundry drop-offs.
As part of my trip, I took a number of flights; only once was I forced to check my Bigger Carry On the gate because it was over the weight limit of 8 kilos (17.64 lbs); this was on Austrian Air. Considering the suitcase by itself weighs 8.55 pounds, that left only 9.09 lbs available, and my suitcase clocked in at 14 kilos (30.87 lbs). All this to say, it seemed to be the weight rather than the size that was the problem; and I saw others with smaller suitcases who were similarly forced to check them due to weight. While I aim to pack lightly, I think it could be challenging to try and pack for a multi-week trip within the Away Carry On. I like having a little extra room, plus the ability to expand the suitcase if needed.
In the rare circumstances where I am forced to check my bag, I find having an Apple AirTag gives me tremendous peace of mind, because I know where my luggage is and, in the case of a connection, whether it made the connecting flight.
Thanks again for sharing your insights and experiences with us!

I carried my lavender one (Thanks for the heads up!) for the second time this week. I can say, because I brought my dyson hairdryer, that the difference between this and my smaller carryon is my hairdryer and diffuser.

Just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. I found you while researching DVC during summer of 2020 (such great content) and watch both channels regularly.
From your past videos with your luggage (and my own research, of course), I ordered and received our Away carry-on and medium flex suitcases a couple of weeks ago (I used your affiliate link from the Everywhere bag video so hopefully it worked). For some reason my husband and teenage son didn’t share my excitement when it arrived and I gave them a full demo of all the features but oh well, lol. My mom and I recently booked tickets for later this year to finally go see my sister and her family in Australia; that was my rationale for the purchase 😉 and I can’t wait to try out the new luggage.
We have TravelPro luggage from 2008 which has been great but there are so many external pockets that we just don’t use. Most of our travel is via car so size and weight aren’t usually an issue but the TravelPro suitcases just don’t maximize space or weight for us when traveling via air. I like how there’s no “wasted” space or weight in the Away design. I’m also hopeful that the hard sided luggage will provide more protection of contents during air travel.
I purchased the regular carry-on flex because it meets the carry-on requirements for Qantas international whereas the bigger carry-on was slightly over. Not sure if it’s enough over for them to notice or reject as a carry-on but I didn’t want to risk it.

The regional jets offer offer plane side / valet check where you get your bags back when you leave your flight, but it can save you about 5mins when the regular carry-on fits in the regional jets overhead bins.

Then bought the large suitcase, everywhere bag, and the backpack...oy. I've been tempted with the bigger carry-on, but it forces me to pack less haha. I love the away luggage videos and have debated for 3+ years if I should make the investment or not. If I still traveled for work as much as did pre kids, I wouldn’t hesitate as I used to do 5+ trips a year for work and then 4-7 personal vacation trips/travel but now (even pre-COVID/post kids) it was 1 trip a year or even no trips for work and maybe 3-4 personal trips, now mostly road-trips. I used to wonder why away didn’t just add an expandable zipper to their luggage instead of having 2 carry-on sizes 🤔🤔🤔. I know now some pieces do have the expandable luggage.
Anyway, you made a comment about regularly flying with a specific airline. I wanted to ask if you could do a video on airline points/miles. Do you use your points to purchase flights, upgrade? How do you collect points besides just flying? As a family member of an employee from a specific airline, are you restricted or not allowed to accumulate points? What other perks are tied to your status…
