Can you provide some insight on how the durability of future silver compares to matte black? Also, how scratch-resistant is matte black with daily use?
Just backed it £164. I have a Garmin watch at the moment but only use about 10% of it's features and it stops me wearing the other watches I have whereas with this I have the freedom to wear my others and still track my steps and sleep etc. Well presented vid by the way.
@thegrumpygamer3081 cheers bud and congrats on backing it early! I'm wearing mine as I type this, it's like half an inch wide and like 1 gram in weight. I think this will free you up to wear whatever you like 👍🏻 what colour did you get?
I'm excited to have this ring as my first smartring. Have you had a chance to test the sleep apnea mode? I'm curious what it would say for someone who knows they don't snore.
Still waiting for tech like this to figure out a way to be able to measure blood sugar levels. I can’t stand all these tools having subscription fees. I will support anything that doesn’t have a subscription. They need to par this with AI generated insights based off the data. And ya GPS would be awesome for running.
Hadn't even thought of it for running! Good point! Could link it to Strava and have the easiest fitness tracker to wear, ever. Blood sugar levels would definitely be a game-changer too, all good suggestions!
It's thinner and lighter - but I think the reason it has a tighter fit for me is because I dropped from a ring size 9 to a size 8. So I wouldn't necessarily say the Gen 2 ring is tighter, that's my ring-size change, but the whole thing is smaller and lighter so contributes to that overall more 'snug' feel.
@@mistermarston actually the Gen 2 is lighter than Gen 1 regardless of the size you chose. The Gen 1 weighs between 3-5 g, while the Gen 2 weighs 2-3 g. That's a lot of huge improvements consider the product itself is so compact already!
@@udenss I'm not 100% sure - i think for safety, it might be best ordering the sizing kit from Ringconn ASAP. Please refer to my previous video on that.
Good question! As far as I'm aware, everything is still done in-app. The syncing & the notifications etc. I haven't seen a low-battery alert, but with the extra long battery life - you sort of don't need to. If you're not checking the app once in two weeks, I would question whether or not you even need the ring. But if you check the app once every two weeks, you'll undoubtedly see your battery % and know whether or not to stick it on the charger for 10 minutes.
@@mistermarston thanks. I guess the fact that the sync when opening the app happens much faster makes it much less of a chore, and rather a daily task. Ringconn 1 was so slow if I had forgot to open for a few days I would be waiting awhile for everything to sync. But if it is fast now then even if a day is missing the app can sync quick and I could view the data whilst brushing your teeth for example
They gonna add paywall soon, maybe as ultra human, or different. CEO even mentioned that sleep apnea will be avaiable behind pay wall x). Having no subscription and not doing new accesories like watch, sugar meter etc... the company cannot survive, maybe if they release one ring every year but... We will see, atm am sad that they are not transparent about future pay walls.
This was actually very enjoyable to watch. I might just get the ringconn gen 2 afterall. Something about the lighting or camera quality tried to dampen the video but the sheer quality of content kept me glued. Nicely done Gary.
@@mistermarston well, the samsung s24 ultra or iphone 15 pro max actually do a very good job these days with good lighting. The good cameras versatile in both photography and videography are not pocket friendly as I'm sure you know, especially here in the UK. The sony A7 series with appropriate lenses is a good starting option.
@@mistermarston hahaha, you use a Z fold 6 and here I was thinking I could help save you some pennies, hahaha... That does have a decent camera but you will need even more lighting or better still an outdoor setting for best performance. You've got style though. I like it. If money is no object, you might as well go all out and get the more versatile Sony or Canon cameras, usually above £8k for Camera and lense(s). That way, you won't think "camera" again for a very long time and can film comfortably in a cozy dimly lit room which I know is more your preference. I'm in the West Midlands. If you're not terribly far off, I'll be happy to go camera shopping with you some time even...hehe. Cheers.

Just for your information, I did a step test wity my generation 1 Ringconn. I walked 655 steps - - my Rinconn measured 685 steps. About a 4% error.
Which one was incorrect?
Can GPS even be miniaturized to that size of device?

If my size in Oura ring was 11, may I assume the same size in Ringconn?

Does it now auto sync your data and the rings battery life to send you a low battery alert without having to open the app unlike the ringconn 1?

new subscriber alert by the way!

The MSRP will be 299 US dollars after the kickstarter campaing!
I think that's pretty reasonable, although the early bird price of $209 at the moment is a bargain!
