    Thank you for the only real review on TH-cam for this ring. After watching I decided that it's not worth the price for such a basic device. Maybe the next gen but they're not there yet. And for all those saying there's no subscription cost...you're basically paying it up front with the exaggerated price. While this device looks the nicest out of them it's also the most basic. I'll pass for now. Thank again!

    I bought this ring yesterday, I'm still waiting on it to arrive. The main reason I'm buying it is because its a lot smaller than the watch 4 I own which I don't like wearing as its not that stylish and is too bulky. The battery life of the watch 4 is terrible and lasts only 1 day. With this, I won't have to worry about constantly checking it and it can last for 7 days. While it is expensive, I think it's comparable to Aura best part there is no subscription and is more comfortable than Aura.
    I dont get why you are returning it just due to not being able to read spo2, why is that a super important factor to have running 24/7? The heart rate matched up with your medical grade sensor and sleep tracking was on point. Sounds like a win to me.

      I ordered one for almost the same reasons. I hate ruining my dressy outfits with a sport watch, and I would much rather wear a ring than a watch while sleeping. This is a nice compromise.
      Complaining about not having SpO2 on demand seems silly to me. Most people don't really understand the significance of that data, nor do they understand the relevance of the hemoglobin dissociation curve. Truthfully, if your health condition is so critical that you require on demand SpO2, you are way beyond needing a smart watch to monitor blood oxygenation anyway! 😅

    • @Nathan__A
      @Nathan__A 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It should be there on demand to potentially save someone's life. That is why people want to buy one with on demand. One could just as well say that if you don't have any health conditions or health issues then why would you want to even purchase these products?? They are used to track health and potentially save lives.

    I can see the appeal and point of a (Galaxy) ring as a companion device to the Galaxy watch or similar, each covering certain metrics better and feeding each other the info for better tracking, but to me, that's a $100-$200 device, not a $300-$400 device, especially if they scratch as easily as you say. I was considering getting a Galaxy ring to pair with my Watch 7, but the more reviews, etc. I see, the less inclined I am to hand over $400 for something that, at least for now, adds little to nothing over the watch, other than being less intrusive to wear while sleeping.

    • @guytansbariva2295
      @guytansbariva2295 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's my question. Also, I have the Watch 6 classic (I love the bezel), but I keep reading that the heart rate and step counters aren't very accurate. I've tested my watch 6 against a medical grade home blood pressure monitor, and a fitbit step counter, and they both seem to line up pretty well. I'd say the step counter may under count steps on a long run or walk by maybe 5%. But the blood pressure on the watch is pretty much the same as the blood pressure cuff when I compare the two. I was thinking about upgrading to the watch 7 because the sensors are more accurate they say, but I would miss the swiveling bezel. Hmm....what to do?

    • @DirtCheapFU
      @DirtCheapFU 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @guytansbariva2295
      @guytansbariva2295 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @DirtCheapFU I've heard the second gen Galaxy ring (out early next year?) is supposed to offer several new features, so I might wait for that. But $400 isn't that much for some people. I joke with my wife that my $400 Samsung Galaxy phone does everything more, better, and faster than her $1000 iPhone, so I'm up $600 right there. She barely uses any apps and none of the fitness/health features. Just an Apple fan girl. Sad 😅

    Great video! I have been searching for this level of information. I am suffering from FOMO - fear of missing out, and the ring is something I think I need, but I couldn't understand why. This video better explains it than anything I have seen. I have upgraded to the Ultra watch, and I was wondering what I will gain from the ring. It seems that I will only get a depleted bank balance! I can sleep wearing the watch, and weirdly find it harder to wear a ring, so I cannot see a single reason for the ring, unless I am still missing something? You can even do the finger tap thing with the watch that the ring can do.

    That ring looks really, uncomfortably tight on your finger. One suggestion would be to check the heart rate against a chest strap, as the little fingertip ones are pretty inaccurate. Most nurses I have talked to say they ignore the HR readings from those and only use them for SpO2 readings. Based on reviews where the ring is tested against other devices, it seems that in general it is pretty inaccurate on most/all of its sensors.

    I was on the fence as well and even though I did go ahead and complete the order, I'm still not fully sold yet, I have the Watch 5 Pro and the Watch 7 isn't compelling enough for me to upgrade and the ultra is just too darn expensive. I'm used to wearing the watch to bed now so buying it was never really about the portability, but the most annoying thing for me is that wearing both the ring and the watch meant that I didn't get the Energy Score on after the second night because (I'm guessing) the watch tracking takes precedence. If this vide came out a week ago, I most likely wouldn't have gone ahead with the purchase, but i guess I still have a week to return it.

      (but then seemingly most of the fitness rings aren't, you're far better off with a watch or strap)
      The Galaxy Watch 7 comes out far better, but does still need some software work, as the HR tracking still seems a bit off on some activities, while it's one of the best WearOS HR monitors on others, indicating the issue isn't the actual sensor.
