I was told my timing chain cover was leaking a drop of oil during and oil change I am wondering how they could have discovered that without tearing the car apart, 1400 they want to repair.
Probably saw the mass of burnt oil at the bottom of the timing case and on the top of the oil pan....you can see it in this video at 1:35 the person in this video spays it off shortly after

Just gunk clean the area and spay 5 coats of Permatex sealant. Done!

Yes. Common issue. Happened to toyota models that using 1NZ-FE engine. My toyota yaris got this issue already

mine is leaking close to vvti solenoid but from cover, is this where your leak was?
