honda makes good stuff we use thier engines all the time in the fire industry and i pretty much just helped a 17 year old kid put one together its crazy how much knowledge hes gained over the build

Man alot of people had something to say about ebay turbos. But shit in 2004 my gsr hatch with ebay turbo put out 515whp on 20lbs. Now with technology shit i can see ebay turbo pushing out 700hp. Last but not least the FARMTRUCK DIDNT WANT ANY SAUCE FROM HUMBLE 💯💯
I gotta say this video has inspired me because I always loved the crx but was turned off by it because I believed it couldn't cut it when it came to speed but this video has changed my mind
I would say turn the boost down to save the motor and quit wasting tires.......but it's whatever makes you happy because it's your build. Love it, congratulations brother.

Had many cars in my life, but the Honda EF and Honda CB7 I owned feel the most special as they are attached with so many good memories that comes with being young and carefree. Love all cars in general, but Honda’s will always be special.

Can not believe I sold my 2 cherry Del Sols. Blue 93 and a Red 94. His and hers. Kids came. Cars went. I would love to have built one. Now they hard to find most are pretty much eaten up.
Great little machines, I had a couple eg/efs over the yrs. Looks great, non molested body and interior wise. Heavy durometer mounts are must or a custom “stiffie” would help with traction as well.

Back in the early 2000s no one wanted sohc motors. It was all about h and b series. You could get these for nothing and they are fantastic motors once built. Think mine back then was like 4k for a built engine. 300whp and it ran for years. The d series transmission sucks though. The torque steer even with a lsd is ridiculous. Then the cv shafts would snap like nothing. Get a b series transmission and it's a great setup. But why a d series? They are light.
Texas Car Nerd you still can get these motors for next to nothing. The junkyards here in Cali are filled with them. I think they made millions of these engines, since several model Honda’s had them for years. Perhaps with some new Honda Civic Type R front steering enhancements torque steer can be totally eliminated???! Any fabricators listening???

Could always do a d2b swap but by the time you've spent that money may as well do a b-series swap. I wouldnt own another car that you're pushing limits of a stock gearbox again, especially a DD.
old room mate of mine had a del sol sohc that made 300+hp in the late 90s, back when it was freggin expensive, but I'' never forget the first time 90mph the boost came on in 3rd and it ALMOST torque-steered the steering wheel out of my hand, that shiz could break your wrist
I can appreciate the Simplicity and the work that's gone into the car being that I'm currently building my single cam for Boost as well with forged internals, the only thing that I'm not digging about this video is that this guy has no idea what the fuck is going on, he even said in the video this guy told me to order this or this guy told me to order that. He doesn't seem to know much about the car that he drives and owns. It's a beautiful car but I think you could have done much more without interviewing him because it seemed to me like you knew more than the owner of the car did

Well this is a performance shop, posting a video of a customer/friends car. I'd say it's perfect content. It shows exactly how humble performance operates. They can build someone a very fast, reliable car and the customer doesn't have to be a full blown enthusiast to enjoy their car.
It's not that people don't build single cams as often because it "can't be done" or "isn't cost effective" it's pretty much, imo because all the work you did could've been done to something like a H22a with damn near equal effort, and close to the same cost for the same exact eBay parts (ohh but don't forget the cost of the extra cam..) only a few bucks more for the used h22 block. Can handle more hp and is a little heavier over the front wheels witch benefits fwd light ass Hondas anyways. You have to love your wimpy little sohc or be building a "all original" "numbers matching" to have a legit reason to build/boost into the several hundred hp mark.

I have a 90 Accord with the F22A motor on it. Second time I worked on it, I did the timing myself. Man are they really easy to work on. Love Honda.
