    Inspirational! I subscribed. 72 years in June, 23' GS rider. Tidewater region of Virginia USA. Still working 40hr+ per week and caregiver to my wife who suffered a stroke in 2018 and has a host of maladys. I can not get away on long rides but very happy to commute to work and get a few hour ride now and then. Keep looking up !

    I am age 69. I ride a 2015 Triumph Rocket III. Buying a 2024 Rocket because it has cruise control and navigation. I live in Southern California and rode all over the United States. Just returned from a ride to Florida ( 6,000 round trip). I LOVE my Rocket. I am 6'2 220 Lbs. This bike have the power and torque to get out of bad situations. If you are a timid and weak man, this bike may be too much for you. This is a MAN'S MOTORCYCLE. Be different. Be unique. Ride a Triumph Rocket Storm GT III.

    Absolutely inspirational. My wife had skin cancer a number of years back, it really makes you focus on the things that are important in life. We have done Canada (highly recommended), South Africa (with BMW world, recommended) and some of Europe. Keep doing the trips mate and stay safe. Very good! Glad to see your enjoying life.
    I’m 75 and have been on a BMW 1200GS for the last 14 years. The bike has nearly 100,000 miles on it. I have a Husqvarna 701 also but it along with the BMW they have become a handful due to the height and weight of them. I bought a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2 months ago that I’m slowly turning into a scrambler. Not real light but the low eat allows me to throw a leg over it easily. I don’t have cancer but I have a host of other problems. I rode the BMW with my wife on the back to Inuvik Northwest Territories, Canada (way north on the Arctic circle) when I was 70 and wive was 72, so glad I did it then as it’s doubtful I could do it now.

      Hi Mirelio, just the standard servicing at 700, 10,000 and 20,000 miles, although because I didn't use the bike during 2023 I had it serviced again at 24,000 miles (& 2 recalls done). Tyre wear has been negligible (about 8,000 miles per tyre). Only issue I've had (from new) was a spongy rear brake but that's been sorted under warranty, oh and one of the pannier locks but again Triumph replaced both panniers on warranty. 🤗

      Thank you so much Amir! It makes me smile when you say about taking photos of the bike. When I used to tour in my early 20s I used to show photos of my holidays to my parents, my mum said “it’s just the bike here, the bike there” 😂 Trip to Nepal?! ❤ I must admit that I have a few ‘grand tour’ ideas in the pipeline. Your Nepal trip is something that’s sparked my interest but it’ll have to wait for me as I have other plans at the moment. It’ll be amazing! So many places yet so little time. Good health to you in the future 😊

But the Rocket3 has been at the back of my mind for a long time especially after been invited for a VIP factory tour some time ago in Hinkley and saw these monsters being manufactured with great precision. I think it’s time a get one of them in my stable.

    Excellent video, Brian. Like many others have said, inspirational ! You've got me thinking about dusting down my bucket list from about 16 years ago where one of the main things on it was to ride to the top of Norway on my motorbike.
    Due to the time it takes to do justice to a journey like that, it wasn't going to happen for me until I could get closer to retirement, then in 2012 I had some health challenges of my own which eventually forced me to give up biking in 2017.
    I couldn't face seeing my small collection of bikes sitting in the garage so I sold them all. They were special to me, because I had made them my own with self made modifications/improvements over many years, It wasn't an easy decision to make. Having been riding motorbikes since I was 8 years old, and I found it so difficult to come to terms with not being able to ride. All my socialising, centred around riding bikes and as i'm sure you will know as a fellow biker, riding is so good for ones mental health.
    I became somewhat closed down, but focussed on other hobbies and interest trying to look forward and not backward.........Then, in mid 2022, I felt my health problem had become slightly improved, (which wasn't expected) and by Christmas 2022 I bought my current bike, a 2020 Rocket 3R, (with GT bars & comfort seat). It has given me back my mojo. I feel alive again!
    Seeing your video and listening to your story has reminded me to make the most of life while you can.
    I'm planning to retire next year, so maybe I will be able to do my bucket list ride after all. I will have to build myself up to it though. Are you planning to come down to the 20th Anniversary Triumph Rocket meet on the 15th of June this year? If so, it would be great to meet you in person.
    Wishing you good health, David

    Nice one Brian, a good story well told.
    I stuck to the end partly due to your matter of fact way in presenting your story, no hyperbole just with a stolidly calm disposition. It's surprising to me that I held on because I usually can't abide other people's holiday tales, I even flick past them in bike magazines, it's always about fantastic this, best ever that, lost my heart to... xyz! It grates.
    And also because I lost my wife of 40 years to cancer as we were just on the cusp of our 60's. So we never got to open that oft-dreamed of door to retirement together. Good to hear that you both had yours 👍🏻
    Best wishes on your recovery and godspeed on your future rides on the Rocket. I do annual trips on the bike across Europe and that's been more than good enough for me. We all have our adventures, best to enjoy them, I say, while we're still able 👍🏻

    Some great trips there.
    I had the privilege of riding in Mainland Europe for a few years when I got back into motorbikes after 37 years in 2020, buying a CRF250 Rally, which after its first service, I took it out to Groningen with me and one month after it was stolen.
    Next bike was a triumph tiger 900 rally pro, which I took to Munich and back twice, also Odense in Denmark and back twice.
    I also did a non-stop journey back from both places, both around 800+ miles, 15 hours from Munich and 19 hours from Odense.
    I am now back in the uk and have swapped the tiger for a speedmaster (well i only have little legs so it’s nice to be able to flat foot).
    I am considering doing an Iron Butt challenge ride for charity this year (nothing set up yet) so if you fancy joining a 1000 mile within 24 hours in the UK later in the year, get in touch.
    Nice bike by the way, never ridden one yet, because I know I couldn’t afford it if I wanted it 🤣

Thanks for the offer of 1,000 miles in 24 hours but although I'm easily led I know that my body is not yet up to such a challenge! Whether it will be in the future I'm not sure but a great thing to do for charity! 🤗

    • @BriKinsella
      @BriKinsella  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks 😊, TheRocket, the Beemer & the Boxster video gives an insight but I bought some Kriega throw over panniers, nylon tied them together and they fit perfectly over the backrest sitting on the seat and rack. I have Litelocks which wrap round between them but the panniers DO need securing with straps. I also added a small Kriega bag to the top. When I travelled to The Canaries in winter I had all my summer and winter bike gear with me including spare (open face) helmet & boots. The arrangement obviously isn’t as convenient as a big touring bike with proper panniers etc (hence the K, which has since been sold & the 2 bikes changed for a Storm) but it works (for me 🤗). Good luck with your trip, it’ll be awesome wherever you’re going? 🤗🌏

      Thanks for your kind comments Gordon. 95% of my bookings are through Booking.com which generally gives the option of late cancellation without charge (not that I've used that but it's a safety net). I've found what works for me so will stick with it. I just winged the most of the Scandinavia trip either booking on the day I was due to arrive or just turning up at a hotel to see if they had a room, it adds a bit of spice doing it that way but wouldn't be a comfortable way for everyone.

    Hi Brian, what amazing journeys you have been on with the Rocket 3 and what an inspiration you are! I wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to watching your next adventure. Ps I am looking at buying a rocket 3 - One question - How many rear tyres have you gone through and what did they cost?

    • @BriKinsella
      @BriKinsella  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for that 🤗 Tyre wear has been so surprisingly insignificant that I probably can’t give you accurate details other than it’s just had its third new front at 24,000 miles (about £250 fitted) and it’s still on its second (I think) rear, albeit due a change soon. But even if it’s the third rear then over 8,000 miles per tyre is probably unexpected. Having said that I use it for touring not for ripping it up from traffic lights, but I do use its acceleration when the mood takes me. I have been taken aback by the lack of tyre wear. 👍🏼
