Honestly, can it get any better than this? I recall riding with my two daughters at a young age, (me as well, younger) It was an incredibly satisfying, magical time in our lives. Eat it up Kyle. Love your videos.

Fine looking young men. Not sure how they came from you but,....My son and I grew up riding/racing dirt bikes. Wouldn't have traded for the world. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Memories.

It's because their dad loves it and encourages them from when they were like 5 years old.
Kyle, great input. The step from 65 cc to an 85 cc is quite big, even when on the low wheels. We are now closing in on the swap

Nice video Kyle. Those 85's are rippers. A 9 oz. Flywheel weight helped my sons lug a little bit compared to stock.
The boys are getting so big already; I can’t believe kase is 11. I remember when he was on the 65’s feels like just yesterday. And they were so small then!
Konner is ready for the big wheel. Big wheel and he can do pretty much anything the big bikes can and really enjoy all the trails.
In a few months he may be starring in your videos.

Ive got my boy stepping up from a KLX110 with manual clutch up to a 85. He's 32 kg and 4 foot 7. A big jump but he's a sensible kid. If I did it again I would have skipped the 110 and moved to a 65. They pick the clutch up quicker than I thought.

Cool video, keep up the great work! I wish a manufacturer would come up with an Off Road version of a kids bikes sort of like a KTM 65 XC or a YZ65X. I have been slowly converting my Boy's YZ65 into a YZ65X by putting a Lectron and a Flywheel weight on the bike. Right now I am looking for a kick stand for his YZ65 "X" so if anyone knows where to get one let me know.

any issues with spooge or riding from idle and 1/4 throttle? is the lectron good for woods riding and single track?

How do you find the lectron on the ktm 85 for trail riding? I’m struggling with the standard carb on my sons 85 especially at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. Stuttering etc. hoping if I purchase one it will fix these issues
Is there any reason to put a flywheel weight on the 85s to make it a bit more trail friendly?
My cousin has a 21 ec300 it flings my 180lbs to the damn moon, landscape is a blur when you’re on the pipe.
For a beta 250rr, would you go smartcarb or lectron?
My son is turning 15 in couple days and he’s like 5’5 only weighing 108 110 on a good day lmao he’s been on kawi 250 before that he rode my 450x when his cousin was in town so the other kid can ride his bike I need to get him a ktm 125 or 150 xcw for woods. Hopefully in the near future.
Hey Kyle, I’m looking to get a new 4 stroke in a year or two, I currently have a 2005 Honda crf150f, and I’m thinking about a klx300r, any thoughts?
Some are asking what TBI is. Starting in 2023 the KTM EXC and Husqvarna TE TBI will have a throttle body injection. There will be no oil injection line. There will be no TPI injectiors. The system will likely be premix. No more oil tank or problematic filters go contend with.
I am 4´6 and still ride ktm 85 big wheel but sag is 8cm lower but still :D
Any engine mods to the 85's to make them more trail friendly? My boy just turned 11 and is 4'10" and have a feeling we'll be moving him from his kx65 to an 85 next season. I'm in the midwest and weather doesn't allow much riding here this time of the year!
We haven't really felt the need to make any motor changes. We just ride em! Make sure they run right on the carbs and it's good IMO.
Just a suggestion and I know it is a highly debated topic but a fly wheel weight helped my Son with his YZ65.
I’ve herd there’s a different pipe that detunes the bike.
We added a 105 head to my 11yr boys 85 and that made a big difference, great for low end . We mostly ride Hard Enduro but have ridden all over Moab with it.

Pump gas. 91 octane is what we have here. Pick your premix oil. I've used lots of stuff.
@@DirtBikeChannel thanks so much, I run pump gas in my 250 2 stroke so I’ll just feed it the same pre mix I’ve been using makes it easy lol. I enjoy your channel brother

You ought to have one of your boys try out the new Kawasaki KX112 when they move up to the larger wheel size. Then you could raffle off one of the 85s. That might generate some interest from women and moto parents.

Why the Lectron on the 85's? Just curious.
Easier to make them run great at various altitudes than the stock carbs.
I can attest to the awesomeness of the Lectron. Kyle was the one who convinced me to put a Lectron on my Boy's YZ65 and it has been AWESOME! No more fouled plugs and allows the bike to be chugged a little more than the factory carb and made the riding experience with my kid and me much more enjoyable.
@@bertamusprime618 , did you have to make any adjustments when you installed the lectron? Did you have to fiddle with the metering rod a lot?
@@trueinfidel7321 I did have to go a half turn leaner on the metering rod (which is super easy). But that might be because my kid was not reving the bike, he was riding it in the lower rpms. We are also close to 4000 ft and ride from there up so it that may have been an issue also. But after that small adjustment the carb works great minus being a bit cold blooded when the temps are below 40° but once warmed up runs great. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I’m debating on putting the larger tires/wheel set on my YZ85, but it’s like $500 for the rims alone. Not sure it’s worth it, I just moved my son up to a TC250 after 2 yrs on his yz85.
Has anyone done the wheel conversion up to the 14/17 wheels?
I will certainly be doing it. Its like giving them a new/bigger bike for only $500. Bang for the buck! Then after they run the larger wheels, we'll jump to 125 two strokes. That will be fun. Full sized!
