    Here's the big thing he didn't mention If you make under $100,000 a year In California You get charged no income tax In fact you don't even have to file for state tax If you don't make over $100,000 a year

    That CA employment tax is listed is LOW but the more important point is that depending on income bracket, that amount of money (which can be very significant) is enough to offset any benefit of CA weather or lifestyle and instead fund travel, savings, wealth building, etc. It's huge. You did skip over a lot of other factors around lifestyle and day to day life that are significantly different. Despite shitty summer weather and high property taxes, this native CA who lived in WA for nearly 20 years, TX wins hands down. Although I absolutely acknowledge that weather cannot be beat in CA, in San Dog in particular. With the tens of thousands of additional income we now have, we can visit frequently and go on exotic vacations, and weather the inflation storm, so I think we still make out in the long run.

    Unfortunately how many of us middle class and lower class people really can enjoy housing close to the beach?!. Situation is so rough that more and more people keep moving inland where the heat is not much different than texas. SD, OC, LA all these counties are almost out of reach for the low and middle class to afford a house.

    I am leaving California I’m moving to Texas. The amount of inflation in the state of California is insane. Everything’s going up gas food insurance registration fees!! Just fees and fees now electricity bills going up and they’re finding new ways just to charge us more money! Also corporate taking an advantage of all this in California 10 x 20 storage cost you about $600. If you get anything bigger might cost you $1000 with drive up access in Los Angeles.! Rent for one bedroom apartment is at $1800 in the ghetto! If you want a two bedroom will cost you 2500$ three bedrooms 3000$ in the ghetto! Laws are just ridiculous. School system are a joke. Every side hustle is taken by migrants.! No opportunities very small shop/store will cost you about 2500$ 3000$ for something size of a room with double deposit three year lease term or more in horrible shopping center! Traffic is horrible insurance is so expensive you’re looking at 350$ for just one car minimum! everyone is price gouging thrift stores Goodwill’s swapmeet vendors! if it goes for 100$ brand new at the store and you’re looking to buy a secondhand through the marketplace or locally you’re looking to pay maybe $80 if not 100 and people will not go down 🤦‍♂️ which makes no sense! Hopefully I get to leave by December 🙏 cuz I can’t take it no more this place is eating my bank account

    I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in the summer of 2020. I'll visit Texas and Southern California. Dodge a missle (not a bullet) of inflation living in Mexico. Lifestyle is easily 3-5x but 2-3x cheaper. Food 50% to 70% cheaper. Housing lifestyle is easily 50-70% cheaper as well. Still have beaches, still have an A/C, still have 500 mb/s internet, still have world cuisine...

    • @SanDiegoNeighborhoods

      that's one of the cool things about southern california, san diego specifically -- there are tons of people that live in mexico but work and enjoy the beauty and amenities of san diego. it's definitely a nice option to have to get the best of both worlds

      @@SanDiegoNeighborhoods I actually moved out of San Diego to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico because of all of the stupid rules when covid happened. caution tape on Parks, caution tape on the ocean, no one could gather in groups, all restaurants shut down, in the moronic people judging you for not obeying the stupid rules.

    From a native Texan standpoint the biases on your end definitely shows And you sold Texas a bit short in more ways then one In fact if I hadn’t known any better I would’ve questioned rather or not your visits to Tx were in the backwoods rather then the cities themselves bcuz this dust storm tht your talking abt Texas gets I’ve never heard of tht in my 36 years of living But wht I have heard of and also wht you failed to mention is tht California is proned to hurricanes &&tornados as well,In addition to droughts, volcanoes && landslides tht you all frequently get And specking of which! Did y’all evr fully recover from tht earthquake back in 2022 or wht abt tht major flooding tht occurred last year tht caused rivers to overflow mudslides and alot of people to lose their lives just curious?And those beaches in California is laughable compared to other places in the U.S. like Hawaii,Florida hell even certain parts of Alabama have way better beaches then wht you’ll find in California,I’m srry love but the jig is up Cuz cali is no longer the beautiful state we’ve all come to appreciate and love Now it’s only a shadow of wht it used to be I know tht you Californians want to keep a hold of tht title but the once undefeated && undisputed has now become both defeated && called into dispute,by none other then the great state itself “TEXAS” wht would this nation be w/o it, If millions of fleeing California refugees didn’t have anywhere to run!I mean from all the homeless tents && folks to the drug addicts and heroin needles found all throughout the state I had one couple tell me tht even the beaches there not tht enjoyable anymore from all the needles laying all in the sand and the addicts shooting up in broad daylight not to mention wht abt the homeless people urinating && 💩🚽Everywhere See tht would never fly here in tx But wht has flew and landed here in the great “FLAT”state as you called it was alot of Fortune 500 companies coming in from Cali even Elon musk said it was like a tug-of-war trying to get in and out of the office do to all the homeless && drug addicts camped outside begging and harassing him But you were right abt one thing we definitely have tht state pride tht your not going to find anywhere else and especially in California gangs vs gangs Mexicans vs blacks i mean the constant warfare it’s like y’all are living in a video game (GTA) or something And the 🍒 on top strict gun laws basically you can’t defend yourself in California And thts wht did it for me Cali’s the past And Texas the future And w/ the way things are going I’ll be surprised if people even still remember the name California by 2030 the same year Houston is expected to surpass Chicago as the third in the nation though I think it will happen alot sooner then expected!!!

    Are you on crack? Yes, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and the Coastal Areas of CA have better weather than Texas overall, but Northern California, especially inland, can get brutal in the Winter. The coldest winters in TX are in the Panhandle area near Amarillo and that is nowhere near as cold and brutal as it gets in parts of Northern California. No one will ever get caught in a blizzard in TX.

    • @SanDiegoNeighborhoods
      @SanDiegoNeighborhoods  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      not denying that at all. it can get very cold with snow storms in some places in northern california. not necessarily a bad thing though. some people like it and I know a lot of us in SoCal like to venture up there for the great skiing and snowboarding. I was generalizing a bit but in my opinion I prefer the california weather overall!

    Both can be hot in the interior but Texas is wicked humid, wicked wicked humid. Texas is fine if you are well off it really sucks it you are lower class regardless of race.
    16% about 1 in 6 PEOPLE lack health insurance in Texas the number in MA is 1 in 50. California is closer to MA. Which state is better if you child has special needs, hint it ain't bible land Texas. Why is it the more Christians the worse the social network in a US state.. One would think it would be reversed.
