Donna, I'm so sorry you lost Misty. I know you have so many birds, but I can't stress how important it is to weigh birds at least once a day. Subtle changes in weight can indicate an underlying problem. Birds are such fragile creatures. Your birds are well taken care of and are well loved. It seems Nightshade is adapting fine, and the other birds are interacting well with him/her.
Awe, I'm sorry to hear about misty❤, nightshade is indeed a sweetie, I hope he will befriend another bird from the flock, it's wonderful he has befriended other bird species ❤️ ♥️
So sorry to hear that Misty has passed away. I can see that Nightshade is sad now. At least he has lots of birds in the birdroom, so hopefully, a friend will come forward.
I get sad when one of my birds loses a partner or friend. They usually find another bird to hang out with. I have a male parakeet Vesuvius that has never paired up with another female after Kiwi passed. He seems to be friendly with every one but no special friend.
I am sorry to hear you lost Misty. It will be interesting to see how Nightshade adapts to the change. This could be a video topic. Take care. I know how heartbreaking a loss can be ❤.

@voiceoftheparrot I used to have some. I just recently started trying to find some again... it's difficult. I suggest trying a Bird Fair next time there is one close to you. I'm going to one this weekend that supposedly will have some javas.
Donna, you and your channel made my very short list of favorite bird channels on this week's podcast episode ❤❤❤❤ Congrats and kudos. Honorable mention of the java finch too.
@@Loveofpets You're very welcome! Thanks for being a fantastic influencer! Check out the podcast sometime, I'd love to have you on as a guest! Voice of the Parrot podcast, look me up!
Always buy in the petshop sand for birds and put it on the floor of the cage or in a bowl. Seed eating birds need it to survive. Without it they perish. Just make sure you provide this. Very nice birdroom.
My Vet does not recommend offering gravel to bird that can hull their seeds. He has seen so many birds with impacted crops and done many surgeries to remove it. Its recommended to birds that do not hull the outer shell of seeds.
Did you decide against doing a necropsy to find out what happened to Misty? I know that can be expensive and just one more thing to do when you already have so many to care for. Sorry you lost her. It can be really upsetting when you think your bird is fine and the next morning, they are gone. ♥
Hi Donna, I’m worried about my own 4 year old budgie, Angelina Shytanna … She’s been with me 4 years. Also 4 other budgies for 3 years. No one ever was sick. I need your owner advice. Vets here in Portland Oregon, want $200 just to observe budgies for 3 minutes. I’m older, on fixed income and am worried I will have to watch my FAVORITE budgie die. Ill for TWO WHOLE WEEKS, Angelina keeps regurgitating and sitting looking miserable. Then next day she’s fine. Then regurgitating again. I’m so worried. She’s the most loving to me of my flock of 5. Have you got experience treat your birds at home yourself?? I have no other bird person to talk with. I’m so worried 😢
So sorry your Budgie is ill. It's best to go to the avian vets as they can help. I actually have a bird doing this and is going to the vets tomorrow. I don't have any home remedies. Ask your vet about payment plans or other options.
Have you been giving the budgies other healthy vegetable food options like romaine green leaf lettuce, other than the store-bought seed? Budgies that eat only store bird seed don't tend to live a long time. It eventually destroys their liver. They become lethargic, and their droppings will look unusual. Donna has a video on her channel describing how to create birdie vegetable "chop" that is healthier for them, if diet might be an issue. Good luck

Poor Nightshade hope the wee bird starts to feel better and not be sad you have such beautiful birds Donna. 🙂

I love his sounds! So beautiful 🥰
Aww so sorry Donna and little Nightshade about losing little Misty. I'd get him another partner in time if it was me. He seemed so happy with her.

I am so sorry Donna. They were so cute together. With your love Nightshade will be okay. Rest in Peach Misty❤
Ah so sweet, lets you pet him...amazing❤
So sorry for your loss. I lived in Hawaii for 25 years and there are many of these Java sparrows in the wild. Good luck finding a friend❤
Thank you! You are lucky to see them in the wild, must be amazing to watch.
Yes, they are beautiful, but they found their way into our attic and had a family. It was all good we didn't have the heart to disturb them.
Aww so sorry
So sorry about Misty she in Birdy Heaven, Nightshade enjoying petting from you let's pray for Misty loving your birds room so active 😔🙏❤✝️
Thanks so much
Please get him a friend. They are much happier!
If one comes along I may consider it.

Typically, I arrange for a necropsy, but time constraints prevented me from doing so this time.

Give him sometime to mourn his lost friend. Re kindle your close bond with him then just see what happens!
Thanks. He is coming to me often for some petting and interactions. Sherbert the Canary seems to want to be friends which will be interesting to see.
@@Loveofpets I’m hoping they will be great friends, too! I really look forward to seeing your future videos!
