The yellow booth was mine. I got a ton of comments on my channel today telling me my booth was featured on your video, so I figured I’d check it out. This video is dope! Thanks for checking out the booth!
I remember that Dr. Pepper machine from childhood. There was one in front of the strip mall just down the hill from here, near a Safeway. I would totally get that and use it in a game room.
that yellow booth with the nerf guns is non other than Tendos booth! check him out on youtube. he has a channel on a ton of thrifting and on his booth, as well as tons of others stuff. Edit; not sure if this is mentioned later in the video or in the comments somewhere but yeah!
You talking about the children books being goofy because of the kids turning into animals. In the UK, in the 90s, we had a kid's TV series called "Woof!", about a boy who randomly turns into a dog sometimes. I loved it as a kid. You can watch some of the episodes on TH-cam for free, including the pilot which is great. I watched it for the first time in 25 years last month!! Search on TH-cam for "Eric Woof", should be the first result.
Denny's: I thought we were the only people hanging out at Denny's in the middle of the night drinking coffee and smoking cigs back in the day (in the 80s in Ohio.)
Thank you for bringing us this video, it is much appreciated. It is great to see what people with some imagination can do with an otherwise moribund property. Congratulations are given to the owners and a great addition for the local community as well as those from further afield. Long may this enterprise continue.
Now that I am getting older and forgetting more of my childhood I have been enjoying these stores more then I did in my youth or even in early 30s so I can kick start my memories more.
Those World Series cups were an awesome way to end the video! I actually had won a contest through Blimpie to be on the field of Bank One Ballpark (Now Chase Field for those not from the Phoenix area) during warm-up and the National Anthem on August 18, 2001. The game that day was against my #1 favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. For the Anthem I was placed on first base, and while ballpark crew were still setting up for it, Matt Stairs of the Cubs waved and called me over to the dugout. He swapped his Cubs hat for my Diamondbacks hat during the Anthem. It's my absolute favorite Baseball memory, and the fact that the D-Backs made it to and won the World Series that same year still brings a huge smile to my face.
PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH BIRCH BEER. As a born and raised Pennsylvanian, I can honestly say that that's like, one of the best drinks in the entire world. It is legit Pennsylvania Dutch brewed, and is legit a taste of real Pennsylvania goodness. If you've never had birch beer before, give it a try next time you see it -- it's like root beer, but richer, smoother, and more flavorful all across the board. What a cool mall this place is in general, but the fact that they've got Pennsylvania Dutch birch beer on offer in their restaurant? Yeah, major points to them for that!
This reminds me of a place in Abilene TX I went to. It was called Under One Roof. It was in a former local department store called Minters which was built in 1925. The used the basement, main floor and mezzanine. The mezzanine housed the little cafe and everything was so good. While I was looking at the building detail I got noticed by the building owner. He ended up offering to take me on a tour through the whole building. I got to see the archives of adverts from the old Minters and even got to see the guts of the old 1925 original Otis elevators. Sadly they did not work but on the main one the call bell still rang (likely it would have still been hand operated.) Definitely had the time of my life there and would recommend anybody go if you find yourself in Abilene!
Here's a tip. So you don't miss out on games for your collection make a spreadsheet in Google drive on your phone. Make a tap for each system and list all the games you have. Then when you're out and not sure whip out your list. Its really helped me with my collection. Just remember to add new purchases to your lists.
Decided to turn this on at dinnertime. I always enjoy your uploads. But I was surprised my husband & teen-age son enjoyed it too. That antique mall had something for everyone. Thanks!
seeing all those early 2000's video games reminds me more of a Goodwill than actual Antiques like what you would find in you're grandparents Attic or garage Lol
I love poking around antique stores and malls. The last few years for my birthday I had my friends meet me at Anzios for a meal and then we walked Brass Armadillo Phoenix location across the street. It seems like everyone has fun meandering around the place looking at stuff. I am looking forward to just going out and doing that again when things improve with Covid.
I do enjoy looking at old, and antique stuff. There's an amazing history behind them. But I still have to get used to seeing stuff I played with along with the antiques. I had that Stars Wars Speeder!
M.U.L.E. is one of my favorite games of all time, I played it all the time on the Commodore 64. I got all excited seeing it in the case before you even mentioned it
Living on the east coast we have a whole bunch of these type of stores along the interstates and small towns. I know one nearby town has at least 7 of these style antique malls. I know of one in Pennsylvania and another in Maryland that it would take you weeks to see everything there. The one in Pennsylvania is housed in what used to be an old paper mill I believe.
There used to be a popular business of similar concept near me, the Attias Flea Market, located in an old discount store. It seemed to do well but abruptly closed about ten years ago with no reason given. There's now a Target on its site.
I was too old, or at least not the target audience, for the Animorph books, but holy Hell's Bells, were they just enough Messed Up for me to get hooked on. All my fellow readers were getting into Harry Potter and I was like, that's a little TOO young for me, but this series looks interesting. And boy, howdy! Like, it's a four year journey of child soldiers, and at one point they accidentally recruit the wrong person so to "fix" their problem they literally get him to stay in the form of a rat past the time limit, so that he is forever stuck in that form, and then abandon him on a sandy shoal out at sea, forever screaming and begging for help from passing ships who will never see him because, of course, he's in the body of a rat. The leader of their little gang's family had been taken over by aliens, so he was only sleeping in twenty minute intervals. His cousin was suicidal-crazy with the tasks and jobs she would pull off. They get involved with chemical warfare, "drugging" an alien species. I mean, there was all kinds of fucked up'ness going on in those books. I will forever be a fan of that series.
10:28 Ah! but yes! That's what even MC5, Chicago (then "Chicago Transit Authority"), Ten Years After, Bob Seger (then having the band "The Bob Seger System") looked like before their "break out." One other group to mention was "The Allman Joys", which of course changed a few members to become The Allman Brothers Band. On the Funk music side of things, "The Parliaments" eventually became the various forms of Parliament-Funkadelic et al. Back to Vanilla Fudge... All four original members went on to become serious musicians for both studio sessions and live performances. Just look up the drummer Carmine Appice, and bassist Tim Bogert (who recently passed, RIP). No doubt they lived up to the statement, "...one of the few American links between psychedelia and what soon became heavy metal." I was born a few years after that album, but I had to pick it up when I found in in mid-1985 in excellent shape for about $1.99
I love those gas station garage signs as well. Cool mall I would love to go there next time I am in AZ. I use to work at a mall for hastings music store in Mesa I wish I could remember the name of the mall.
Great video...we have an old merchant's square antique mall here in Allentown PA. It's a former Mack truck plant. It will be closing soon though. I spent my weekends there doing sports card memorabilia shows and toy shows there. Did a toy show with wwe superstar mankind (Mick Foley) there and he bought stuff from me to give to his son one Christmas.
I remember the Animorph books and TV shows, as i was within their demographic at the time they aired on tv. now that im 31, i doubt i will see those shows again
The yellow booth was mine. I got a ton of comments on my channel today telling me my booth was featured on your video, so I figured I’d check it out. This video is dope! Thanks for checking out the booth!
Your booth is one of my favorites 😁
I was about to leave a comment on your channel tendo saying you made it on RA
Every time you say "...like a mini mall...." that song pops in my head.
I had a booth in a place similar to this. Never broke even at the end of the month. But it was a good tax write off.
Every time you said it was "like a mini mall" I thought of that flea market montgomery video that was a meme like a decade and a half ago.
🎶It’s just like, it’s just like, a mini mall🎶
0:10 It's just like a mini mall you say? :D
YOU JUST GOT A SHOUT-OUT FROM LINUS TECH TIPS ON HIS MOST RECENT WAN SHOW!!!
WOOT!!!
I needed this particularly here as a Texan where we had a week-long hell freeze
Feeze-puhlease just warmed up to the same temperature a week ago in Winnipeg. Was -30 and colder.
So cool. It's like a mini museum where you can actually buy the exhibits!
Oh my God, I love this place. The little restaurant has so much character.
Found your channel a few days ago and now I'm thinking this is someone I would hang out with.

I love antique stores. Remind me of my childhood.
LOL Vanilla Fudge!! I love that record shop.
That was fun! I really like unique places like this. I would have paid $75 for that T.V. not working even, great conversation piece.
Denny's: I thought we were the only people hanging out at Denny's in the middle of the night drinking coffee and smoking cigs back in the day (in the 80s in Ohio.)
We were still doing it in the 90s 🙂
You can't call yourself an American if you've never been shitfaced in a Denny's at 3am.
Ò

I got that pinball machine you displayed as a Christmas present when I was in sixth or seventh grade, loved it😀.
Love this! Love this! Love this! So nice to go on a trip with you. So pleasant and calming.
Feels like I could spend a whole afternoon poking around this place
Love antique malls, like a disjointed trip down memory lane
In the 90s and before the crash of 2008 I used to browse around antique shops pretty often.
Now that I am getting older and forgetting more of my childhood I have been enjoying these stores more then I did in my youth or even in early 30s so I can kick start my memories more.
I’m flying there just to pick up some things! This place is fantastic! 😲😲😲
It's nice that some stores don't demolish the old classic stores. It's interesting Payless Cashways went bankrupt the day before 9/11
This was a really GOOD video, love the wonky market!!!! Thanks for sharing :)
I remember when Chandler was being built in the early 90s, used to be just desert, before the Styrofoam & Chicken Wire houses started going in...
Orlando, Orlando.gov has seen massive growth 🏘. Massive RE development in the areas that were vacant, un-used in 2000.
I remember it having Orange Groves in the mid 80's
I remember when I was being built in Chandler in the 70s. 1977 model.
This is my favorite place to go! All the little shops are so fun, I spend hours each time I visit!
Those World Series cups were an awesome way to end the video! So much funky things

Basically, Payless Cashway is like the Home Depot of its day

I LOVE looking through antique stores and seeing old memorabilia from the past. I had fun poking around my local Brass Armadillo Antique Mall.
You have yourself a perfectly named channel.
Frostie makes a decent blue cream soda. That's the only one I've tried.
Here's a tip. So you don't miss out on games for your collection make a spreadsheet in Google drive on your phone. Make a tap for each system and list all the games you have. good lord seeing Leninade just made my day, i'm still cracking up hours later
Decided to turn this on at dinnertime. I always enjoy your uploads. But I was surprised my husband & teen-age son enjoyed it too. That antique mall had something for everyone. Thanks!
Hopefully you do an update video on Frys Electronic. Frys just announced they're closing for good.
I've been at this store several times and it feels like your traveling in time when you get inside!!!
Now that's cool! ..way cooler than a normal shopping mall!
I love poking around antique stores when I come across one, especially ones like this where there’s individual booths interesting variety
Good ol retail archeology 😊 you never fail me.
Thanks for everything you did to save the pinball museum!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Vanilla fudge "she's gotta ticket to ride..." Good stuff!
Dude, The Astronauts are awesome! One of the best surf bands ever!
AWESOME VIDEO!! We visited Merchant Square when we lived in Gilbert. Loved the bbq too. 💗🌸 Sammy, Joy, Jeff, Patricia
OMG I have a Land Camera from my mother. The engineering that went into those are amazing.
My kids and I would love to shop at this store. We love vintage and older stuff.
“It’s just like a mini mall!” Did anyone else catch that? Ah, memories.
Hey hey!
seeing all those early 2000's video games reminds me more of a Goodwill than actual Antiques like what you would find in you're grandparents Attic or garage Lol
There is a place on Broadway and Dobson in Mesa, called "Call it New, Call it Antique" and it's very similar to this.
I need that retro chair and table set and Emerson tv for my retro-future themed living room
Reminds me of savage mill mall here in MD. Also, keep making these vids brother your the only reason I'm still in the whole dead mall hobby anymore.
That antique store genuinely looks like a fun time.
The Jar Jar Binks jab got me for some reason. You really can't trash him enough.
those animorphs/goosebumps books!
By video alone, I know this place kicks ass
Dude I love this place I literally live in the neighborhood I’ve been going there for like 5 years now it kicks ass.
Poor Vanilla Fudge. Their cover of You Keep Me Hanging On is considered protometal. It's worth a listen.
This is like the ANTUIQUE TROVE here in Scottsdale. Fun to look around in these places.
I love poking around antique stores and malls. The last few years for my birthday I had my friends meet me at Anzios for a meal and then we walked Brass Armadillo Phoenix location across the street. 14:34 that one booth had some good looking box radio sets, hell I have that same speaker on the bottom shelf in the corner in a different color
Wonderful video, love this vintage tiny mall stuff! Once again you have brightened my weekend RA
Sidral Mundet! That’s my favorite! Apple cider soda, baby! I also have had a a bottle of Leninade. The writing on it is the best part.
Now this is pod racing!
I was going to post that! 😣 sad for Jake Lloyd....
I went here a few years ago and watching this makes me want to go back.
I have that NASCAR Barbie. you should have gotten the Vanilla Fudge album and played it for us
Ok that's an awesome little place. Thanks for posting this and great job as always.
I do enjoy looking at old, and antique stuff. There's an amazing history behind them. But I still have to get used to seeing stuff I played with along with the antiques. I had that Stars Wars Speeder!
Thanks for the video. Look like that can be a full day trip.
M.U.L.E. is one of my favorite games of all time, I played it all the time on the Commodore 64. I got all excited seeing it in the case before you even mentioned it
This place is awesome. I could spend an entire day there.
well that's the problem...too many "lookie lues"...it's ebay on the ground...yawn
I forgot you live in AZ this is down the road from my house
I love places like this. When things get better in the world and you have time to travel, you should go to some antique shops in surrounding states.
I'm old enough to remember when antique stores had antiques in them.
Living on the east coast we have a whole bunch of these type of stores along the interstates and small towns. I know one nearby town has at least 7 of these style antique malls. Frostie slaps, love the blue lemonade. Cheap as dirt, too. $1 for 32oz.
I had no idea we had something like this in the valley. I want to take my parents there next time they visit Arizona.
JarJar looks partied out on that box eh!!!! I actually remember wanting the Episode 1 MicroMachines, and I was 16 :)
I had that little pin ball machine, it's from the 70's. You should've bought it!
At the small grocery store that I shop at, they sell the Mr. Frosty drinks and their Root Beer is right up there with A&W in my opinion
I was too old, or at least not the target audience, for the Animorph books, but holy Hell's Bells, were they just enough Messed Up for me to get hooked on. I could spend a week in that shop. Surviving in these baked goods and leninade and just going through all that awesome stuff.

I love going to stores like this
Wish we had antique stores like you do in the USA.🏴
this was great!! so interesting and like you, I love poking around in those places too. makes me want to find one soon
Love poking around antique shops. We have a few line down main street in old town pocatello
Canada did have a hardware store chain called Cashway but it's probably a separate company.
that dog n suds root beer came all the way from lafayette, indiana area!!! it’s still open and super bomb

Woohoo a new video!
Can't wait for the next Fry Electronics videos because they announced today that they were closing all stores.
Great video, great narration!😎👍🏻
13:55 One of my friends had that Atomic Arcade pinball machine. That was in the 70's, I'm pretty sure.
