Thank you for the video for real! Quick question for you. Is there any drawback to playing a game from an HDD instead of our built-in SSD's? It looks like you put Skyrim into your Gaming drive which appears to be HDD.
Hey man, is it alright if I ask a question? I managed to successfully install Viva New Vegas using MO2. And it worked great, for a time. I accidentally launched the game from Steam instead of MO2 and then everything broke. Any idea how to fix?
Another install, another day following GamerPoets videos. There really is no other channel on TH-cam that guides one through the process like this channel does, and in such a faultless manner. This channel is criminally underappreciated. It deserves ten times the views it has. Please keep it up!
Finally getting back into playing and modding Skyrim after several years away from it, and trying to come to grips with all the updates and a new mod organizer (MO2). Gotta say, your videos have been both enjoyable and enlightening and saved me what would have no doubt been weeks or months of trial-and-error mistakes, headaches, frustration, and probably endless rage quits. THANK YOU so much for all the work and knowledge you put into these vids!
I've decided to take my Vortex training wheels off and try MO2. I will admit that I was a little overwhelmed, but you made me feel comfortable showing step by step how to do everything. I can't stress how thankful I am for your videos! You're the man!
I'm so lost, I'm on GitHub trying to download the mod organizer and I'm sure it's in the assets location but there's like 8 different options how do I know which one it is
Man I just wanted to say that of the countless tutorial/guide/how-to channels I've seen, I'm in awe of how good yours is. Such an attention to detail with visual presentation, clear & crisp audio, organizing the backlog. I'm legit a tad disappointed that I'm done modding Skyrim (ty for the help btw) since it means I can't watch another one right now, but 100% getting that bookmark for when I'm looking for some insights next time.
This is the first video of yours I've watched, and I gotta say... not only is it quite helpful, but your voice and demeanor are very pleasant and soothing. Thank you!
Thank you for all your help, I really like the format of all your videos, and you've really made it easy to get things working well. Been watching your videos for years.
I can´t thank you enough for your guides. They are so easy to understand and I´m sure I never would have managed all of this without them. Thank you! :D
00:09 OMG you are so awesome, thanks for that. Im returning to Skyrim after years, it feels so good to do it with your encouragement ! Thank youuuuu !!!
My Nexus gave me the red X years ago but I had a stable load of almost 200 mods still working. I couldn't alter them or update the organizer but I could play. I started playing it again about a week ago, which lead to watching Skyrim videos, which showed me what I was missing out on. Last night I got the soggy feet glitch at level 32 and I just couldn't continue with the game like that. I finally decided to do a full wipe and update. Thanks for helping me rebuild Skyrim!
I loved this video it was extremely helpful. It was a great watch, almost like asmr, made me feel extremely calm about the intimidating modding process. Thank you so much! This video deserves so much more than 2k likes!!!!!
I had to step away from modding 3 or 4 years ago and now that I'm picking it up again its great to see GamerPoets is still here going above and beyond helpful with his uploads 👍
Hi there. I'm at a bit of a crossroads. Been playing starfield via xbox gamepass. Using vortex to manage the mods. Purchased the game for steam. No clear way to use vortex to manage both installations. Was a bit intimidated at the idea of MO2 to manage the steam install instead. Found this video and I have to say I'm so very impressed with the polish of this video. From the presentation of the steps to the editing to the voice and demeanor you project. Will look at your other videos as well. I may be using MO2 after all. Thank you for your work.
thank you so much for this guide!! i finally got a pc and want to try modding skyrim since ive been playing since i was 8 on xbox and this guide is perfect for me to keep up with
I think I love you, all these guides and tutorials are super helpful and keeping me interested in Skyrim through modding and its helping me rediscover this gem of a game. Thank you for what you are doing and keep it up!😃
Love your content bro, thanks for keeping us updated as the years roll by. I just wanted to mention I didn't see an annotation of video link when you pointed to the corner of the screen at 6:33. I'm assuming you intended to paste a link there and it just slipped your mind, so I thought I'd mention it.
Everything goes great when installing, but when i hit "finish" for it to launch, it doesn't launch. The spinning circle on cursor spins for like 5 seconds and nothing. Thumbnail is on home screen, but when I double click on it it won't open. Any suggestions
At 4:52 you changed the base directory path to "...Mod Organizer 2 - Game Instances/The Elderscrolls - Skyrim". Then after changing the path for Mods before you change the Overwrite path at 5:57 it shows that the Base Directory path has changed back to "...Mod Organizer 2 - Game Instances" and the ".../The Elderscrolls - Skyrim" at the end of the path is no longer there. Why did the Base Directory path change after you changed the Mods path?
I'm so glad I found this hidden gem! Nexus Mod Manager recently got abandoned in favor of Vortex, (which I'm not the biggest fan of its interface, tbh.) And like someone with bad memory, NMM is currently *forgetting* my Fallout 4 MCM, and numerous Sim Settlements 2-related mods. Playing FO4 without SS2 to me feels like being at an ice cream shop with no money, (sad AND demoralized.)
you lost me here 5:36. i only have one drive and steam automatically puts all my steam games in my program files, do i need to uninstall skyrim and install it in c/directory?
I've had the same problem and what i've done was re install Steam inside the directory i wanted the game, for example in my case i wanted to have the mods inside C:\Games so i had to re install steam inside C:\Games
I tried to install it, but it couldn't open the installer at all, it kept giving me the most unhelpful Runtime error I've ever seen, telling me that the action is only valid for products that are currently installed. Yeah, very unhelpful there.
I don't know if anyone has had this issue before, but from what i've searched i couldn't find anything. My mod organizer simply won't open. I have installed every requirement, and it simply doesn't open, nothing happens when i click it, even when i have my antivirus deactivated. What can i do to fix this?
Thank you wizard. As always, the incredibly complex becomes incredibly simple. 😉 Useful video when you are new or haven't used Organizer for a long time.
I spent hours trying to mod Fallout 3 earlier this year but gave up when I lost all voice overs and had to store my PC. I was using MO2 but gave up on the project. When I get my own place I'll try again and start here 😊
Thanks for this video Gamerpoets, so just making sure as I already know the answer to this question, just making sure my brain is ticked. Your other drive letters would not be local? Only your C: is local? hence NAS/USB? The only two paths that matter are Mods and Overwrite, these two need to be local all other paths can be NAS etc...? Thanks
Hmmm. Did a fresh install of Skyrim AE and a fresh install of MO2 but MO2 refuses to open. Not sure what's up. I've watched a bunch of your tutorials and you know your stuff. Any ideas on this issue?
Thanks for the video! Very easy to follow. One question: after installing MO2, I've noticed in the log something about RivaTuner, suggesting me to uninstall it. Should I do that or is there a fix? In case I must get rid of RTSS, what do you suggest to monitor hardware and FPS ingame?
I just installed Skyrim on Linux for the very first time yesterday. Which also means I installed MO2 on Linux for the first time yesterday. Fairly certain I screwed the pooch with the MO2 install, but one thing I'm *completely* certain of is: if I had the grey cells you have...I wouldn't be in the predicament I'm in, lol
MO2 had a few things added to it's installation process since the previous video, so here is an update = )

just got a pc again and immediately came here for your old tutorial on this just to find you have a brand new one... i love it

My gawd, Ive never been so transfixed watching someone tell me how to download and install stuff
At 4:52 you changed the base directory path to "...Mod Organizer 2 - Game Instances/The Elderscrolls - Skyrim".
Then after changing the path for Mods before you change the Overwrite path at 5:57 it shows that the Base Directory path has changed back to "...Mod Organizer 2 - Game Instances" and the ".../The Elderscrolls - Skyrim" at the end of the path is no longer there.

you are my savior mr
Thank you, beautiful gentlemen.

When i try opening MO2, it immediately crashes and generates DMP files. What's wrong?
I'm having the same issue! I've read it may have something to do with the Visual C++ in the wrong folder. If I figure it out, I'll let you know.
I don't know if anyone has had this issue before, but from what i've searched i couldn't find anything. My mod organizer simply won't open. Same issue here. No idea why.
Damn,i love his crunchy voice
