Do you guys know the armor mod on the thumbnail? The ranger-looking armor that has the old world blues thing on his head? I would love to know what it is.
I thought it looked great, so I installed this. However, one of the 140+ mods screws with the compass detection -- it makes it dynamic so that the NPC/enemy indicators fade away as you move away from them. The range is also SIGNIFICANTLY worse now -- I have to be much, much closer to things before they register on the compass. How do I get rid of this and restore the compass to the functionality of the original game? I've searched and searched and cannot seem to identify the offending mod to turn off. I need it gone or this game isn't playable to me. I love ED-E's long-range sensors (and, yes, I already got rid of the "Follower Tweaks" mod that completely breaks one of the best companion perks in the game from Boone). If anyone can tell me which mod to toss in order to restore my compass/sensor to original function, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
I figured it out, with some effort. The key is in the .ini file for the Stewie mods. nvse_stewie_tweaks.ini. In that file is about 4,000 lines of text and code. You can search around for compass and such to turn off the fading and reduced sensor reach. There are some other things in there that have been changed that I changed back. I found it irritating. It's one thing to change quality of life or improvements ... like removing some of the annoying delays. But, to change a fundamental part of the gameplay is not something I expected from what was advertised as more of a cosmetic, quality-of-life improvement. Making an interface less cumbersome or smoothing out dated graphics is a LOT different than "let's make you sink in water if you're wearing heavier armor."

are we not going to talk about how shit that run cycle reanimation is? i sincerely believe that ive never seen a worse run or walk cycle in my life lmao, looks like someones first ever attempt at animating anything.
@@Mutant_Mods that is a definitively, profoundly shit opinion. just because animations differ from vanilla does not make them better. while its true that the reanimation in question is the only fully realized run and walk cycle reanimation, that does not make it superior to vanilla, and especially not the diagonal running mod. its sloppy, inconsistent, and uncanny. not a single human being runs like that, and if they did i would recommend immediate medical intervention. there will be a superior and better realized reanimation eventually, but for now vanilla is categorically superior to the abject monstrosity that is that reanimation.
I think it looks fine, the mod that adds it adds a bunch of different animations that are too good to pass on, I think the biggest gripe i have with it is the flailing of the arms when running forward, that's what makes it look uncanny, also why are you so fucking salty? everything okay up there? You need to get a grip.

did you find out?
@@noisyguy4013 haven't dawg :(
You make such great and inspiring videos! That lighting mod is a true gem thank you for showcasing it ^^
While I haven't been playing NV for awhile now, I have saved just about everyone of your videos for when I go back to play sometime. Keep up the work they're always great!
when did simple open strip become broken?
Never, he's either a hater or confused it with the actual broken one lol.
Even the Viva New Vegas guide is ok with these mods, but this guy has something against them lol
@@raziel6304Simple Open Freeside can break because it takes two entirely separate world spaces and merges them which introduces a lot of compatibility issues.
On the other hand, the strip is already one world space divided into 3 parts so making it one area usually doesn’t break much.
I think the issue is the frames. Even though it shouldn't, that mod absolutely tanks your FPS on the strip.
you are a man of culture, i love this video and how you went about this visual overhaul, this is what i was looking for out of a visual overhaul, keep up the awesome work
2:44 They changed my boy Caesar to Gus Fring 😂
11:10 oh i know you're not knocking simple open freeside/strip
I know this has been done to death but doing an installation guide of all the Viva New Vegas stuff in your style would be great for newbies.
"How they should have been"? Bro, the game came out in 2010...
This game looked like shit even for 2010 standards
Crysis came out in 2007 and it looks much better in comparison :p
@@oelx0 crysis is not open world like new vegas
Half Life 2 came out in 2004, Gta Sa came out in 2004. Graphics standards are bullshit, i suggest y'all appreciate atmosphere and art direction in games more than graphics
Do you guys know the armor mod on the thumbnail? The ranger-looking armor that has the old world blues thing on his head? I would love to know what it is.
Bro it’s just a combo. You can wear both using mods.
@@Mutant_Mods Yeah. I mean the police vest and scarf. Sorry if I didn't specify, bro.
What is that armor set used in the thumbnail?
Ranger Wannabe and its only available for girl couriers
Finally a video that presents mods that fit perfectly with the vanilla and don't make the game look like Battlefield 2042 with myopia.
3:06 Jesus Christ what did they do to my girl Sunny man
I thought it looked great, so I installed this.
3:44 zesty ahh walk 😭
@@TKontent goofy ahh default Lego dance
"After you've skipped the intro, even though we just improved it"
*HOW DID YOU KNOW?!!*
Add distant fog... to a desert devoid of moisture?...
Thank for you keeping this wonderful game alive
This is cool, but it really needs to be bashed into 1 megamod that people can just install over vanilla. People have lives sometimes.
I might slap together a collection on Nexus
True, but that's just modding for you.
@@JaymzGames I'd say more around 3 hours because of download times, compatibility issues, and troubleshooting. But if you can't find 3 hours of the day to do something you aren't managing your time well or work 80 hours a week lol
11:15 I love lightbright. Such a great vanilla-friendly strip expansion with little to no issues and keeps to the concept. (Brightweight is a bit too much though)
it looks the same
About to run my first run of new vegas and im looking forward to it with these mods. Thanks 😮
Follow the Viva New Vegas guide first, then slap this on top.
Imagine not putting NVR on the list
All those HD 4K texture mods does in your list is just make game look even more outdated and flat
Oh boy, another video to watch a couple of times until the next one comes out. Maaan, until I get my next pc these babies will keep me entertained. Good stuff.
I’m new to modding and after finding your channel I’m dreading the day I finish loading all the mods I’ve liked from your channel and actually try to play the game.😅
are we not going to talk about how shit that run cycle reanimation is? i sincerely believe that ive never seen a worse run or walk cycle in my life lmao, looks like someones first ever attempt at animating anything.
Your opinion. Not everyone else’s. The animations are 1000% better than vanilla.
Thanks for the video, after a stressful shift at work, it's dope to see Mutant Mods dropping a FNV upload. Appreciate the work & research yall do
I played this game when I was in high school. I recently bought a gaming laptop a few weeks ago, and since I just finished the TV series, I gave NV a try once again. I knew of viva new vegas, so I just followed everything in it without really reading what it adds. I never realized how much improvement following that guide made to my game, I just played normally lol.
I literally don't run new gfx mods on NV just for the very reasons you listed at the start. This might actually be the first graphical overhaul I install in NV.
I'm super grateful to this video, this is exactly the vibe I want my New Vegas to have.
This is the second best video to make Fallout new vegas the greatest Fallout game ever, the 60+ classic mods and this one are great recommendations.
Incredible video and thank you so much for the google doc.
By a mile, you're the best mod channel on youtube. I don't even play this game anymore and I still choose to be subscribed just to see what you can compile!
Now THIS is someone who knows their stuff!
I indeed share your taste in "vanilla friendly" or, at least, "lore friendly" mods!
Big old thumbs up! The size of the plume being much larger than my thumb! ❤
This is such an important video! Thank you for shining a light on the biggest issue with mods. The last thing I want mods to do is ruin the atmosphere and feel of the original.
Doc Mitchell is a red error triangle with a white ! in the middle. I followed this guide completely, anyone know a fix?
This video is wonderful. Just making the game looking actually better. Keep up the great work
Thank you for sharing what I imagine took a good amount of time to research and display. Cheers
The mods that enhance lighting all seem to not work for me for some reason. Tried enabling/disabling, reinstalling, even tinkered a little with the load order. Yet nothing worked, using Vortex btw
Edit: nvm I had HDR turned off in the FNV launcher settings and turning it on fixed it lol
honestly really love how this video stays true to the original experience. i was just looking for upscale mods to increase texture resolution so this is perfect
This looks soooo good! I'd like to see how many mods of the "classic fallout style" video could stack on top of these
I have watched that intro so many damn times and this is the first time I've ever noticed a smiley face on the O at 1:50
Going to play New Vegas for the first time since 2012. This is an excellent mod list that stays true to the game, thank you!
After watching your overhaul series, I'd like to thank you in advance for the pain I'm about to suffer installing the 200+ mods.
how did it it go?
Soo... What are your setting for general lighting overhaul ? I can't recreate the same visuals for some reason...
after installing them all my character ears and eyes textures are in the back side of my players head (everything runs fine) any solution for that ?
Sorry to bother you good sir, what is the armor mod you are using in the thumbnail?
As much as i want my New Vegas to look that way i don't want to spent hours to mod it - thats besides the point that i understand only half of what's going on with Viva New Vegas. xD
Still a nice showcase, love it.
i hope u make a video on mods that expand the world space with more places to go,more enemies, more areas and more quests
Does anyone else have an issue with the mods for the strip. I loaded my game and down the lights for the Lucky 38's stairs aren't appearing, nor are the ones that are under that little shade area before you get to the staircase. Does anyone else have this issue?
I followed your guide from the description to the letter and:
a) main menu screen is gone (menu itself is changed though), even if i remove mapmo, aio and truly hd menu screen, the menu screen art is gone. any help with this?
b) improved male body breaks Character remake kits, had to remove it.
All the rest of the stuff works perfectly fine, great mod setup btw. Looks amazing in game.
