- In todays video I got through the pros and cons of a supercharger and turbocharger for your G37/370z but these factors are also applicable to different cars. Please leave a thumbs up if you found this video helpful and subscribe if you're new!
I own, and race in a 2008 Infiniti G37 S coupe. It's a 6 speed manual. I've upgraded the tires, brakes, suspension, clutch kit and air intake. Also gutted the interior. I do autocross racing through the SCCA mostly. I am looking to boost my cars power next but I'm taking a much different approach. I first will need better fuel pumps and injectors plus cams. All my research shows that stock rods begin to bend or break around 700 or more HP. So I'll also will be replacing my piston rods. When I'm ready to add boost I'm doing a twin-charge set-up. Sounds crazy I know. I will first install the supercharger for the better low to mid range power, then a turbo for the better mid to high end power. Never tried this before but I'm positive with the right Dyno tune my car will show amazing results. Biggest problem is budget. I'm a disabled military veteran so money will always be my biggest obstacle. But I will get there.
Very interesting to hear a supercharger with a turbo. First time hearing about that. Would love to hear the results once you are able to complete it
@@yayasgarage unfortunately someone already has done that before I could. I originally had this ideal decades ago but life got in the way. But since they pulled it off I can.
there is also a z1 motorsports supercharger 450hp package with a 110mm pulley for like $6500 USD i believe (price and tax may very depending on where your located), but so far i heard really good things from there S/C Kit they also have a 600+hp kit 80mm pulley it costs roughly 10,000 for that kit
Thanks for that info! I know SOHO also has a 500hp supercharge kit called the V2 Light that is around $5k as well. I failed to mention in the video, but ofc there are ways to boost your car for cheaper if you try to find something used on FB marketplace. But I was kind of high balling the numbers so it is a bit more realistic.
Great content. I am interested in getting a g37 to SC as my next project. I am done dealing with turbos especially in the summer heat (heat soak, even with proper cooling system).

Z1 now has a cog setup for the supercharged kit so you don't get belt slip issues and they are now seeing 600-700 of course with the right supporting mods
Oh nice, I've heard of belt slip issues on the VQs with supercharger setup so that's good that they've improved that. How much is the kit?

Nice Vid. And thank you. Have a 2020 370z and planning to eventually boost the vehicle. Was thinking of turbo but after this vid I think I will supercharge. You have a good point in regards to purpose and priorities. For the mountain driving I love to do I do not plan on spending a lot of time in the higher rpm range. Since I want more power at the lower range and know that where I plan on being a supercharger appears ideal. And as for priorities I think reliability is huge. Would be happy with 500-550 hp. As for price your at about what I expected. And I suck at working at cars too.

Question, if i wanna turbo my car (2012 g37x sedan) and push around 550whp and like 450wtq, would i have to rebuild the whole transmission to keep it reliable, or only upgrade a few parts like the torque converter, clutch, flywheel, or could i just keep it stock (7 speed automatic trans)
Damn I am actually not sure about the Auto transmissions. If it was a manual transmission, ik you're good for like 700whp on the stock transmission. The stock transmission on the G37/370z is actually very strong. But unfortunately, I am unaware of the auto bc I don't have one and never researched it
@@yayasgarage good to know, ive researched a lot but ppl say different things, plannin on goin fbo and a tune you think ill hit 400-430 with that? Got some catless downpipes and 3 inch long tube intakes rn and gonna install those with a tune im hopin to gain 30-40 crank hp idk if thats realistic or not

@@1JuJuBanks def wont, a z1 400 hp crank package will get u to 400, if u buy your own parts and spend more money of even better parts youll be able to hit 410-420 crank NA

Haha if you think about it, an extra $10k to make 550-600 whp is not bad plus the cost of the car, you're at like 30-35k which is a steal for that much power
