The “fear of god” line refers to billboards in California and is meant to be juxtaposed against our “religious” society and its faults. The aliens line is about how crazy ppl are with conspiracy theories but also about how the government is constantly preying on us. Phoebe Bridgers is not Christian. Go listen to Chinese Satellite more thoroughly. She’s singing about the conflict that comes with being faithless for the whole song.
