- Recorded at Château d'Hérouville studio in December 1977 , Long Live Rock 'n' Roll was Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW's third album . The final track recorded was "Gates of Babylon" featuring Ritchie Blackmore, Bob Daisley, Ronnie Dio, Cozy Powell and David Stone.
This is the first time that the original film clip in its intended colour format has been seen since early 1978.
One of the greatest Rock N΄Roll songs and one of the best Rainbow songs of all time.LONG LIVE RONNIE JAMES DIO THE LEGEND!
Epic fucking metal delivered by the one and only master, Mr. Ritchie Blackmore. Unreal.
Amazing!!! Gave me chills!! Cozy Powell on drums. The Master Ritchie Blackmore! King Ronnie James Dio!! SUPERGROUP!!!
Shame egos got in the way
Bob Daisly also what an amazing band that's a super group there.
@@rg8467 Daisley was in a bunch of good bands over the years. Wrote lyrics for a lot of great songs too
@@anthonytice3028apparently wrote most of the Ozzy trilogy of albums that propelled him to solo stardom. I guess Sharon Osborne found a way to screw and Lee Kerslake out of royalties and the public knowing the truth about who wrote what, if Daisley’s and Kerslake’s accounts are to be believed.
@@rg8467 Wasn't it Jimmy Bain?
For me, one of the greatest Rainbow's song... and Ritchie's solo. Masterpiece!
👍👍💯💥
@@jessicajones9127 👍😉
One of my favorites. One of many masterpieces that they didn't play live. The last lineup with Dio before the breakup. Rainbow was never the same after this.
AMAZING! Timeless classic. People will be enjoying this hundreds of years from now.
Ritchie un Dio della chitarra. Genio.immenso ed assoluto.
Thee! most underrated song in the history of Rock’n’Roll a masterpiece!
Great song by a great band and one of the 3 defining tracks of that era of Rainbow including Man on the Silver Mountain and Stargazer.
Kill the King, Temple of the King, Difficult to cure (Ode of joy), Black masquerade, and so on...
“Catch the Rainbow”’ “sixteenth century green sleeves”, ”alight in-the black” ,”kill the king” ,”long live Rock’n’Roll” , Tarot woman” ,”The Temple of the king”…not! Disagreeing with your 3,I’m just saying they deserve a 10!
That guitar solo is so beautifully inspired and ethereal….!😀
In my opinion its the best track of this group, wich, sadly, war torn appart some years later. The combination of Dio ans Blackmore is transcendant in beauty.
RIP to DIO ....unforgettable show in my lost now hometown
Whats the name of your hometown
Fantastic! I hadn't seen this particular rendition of the 'Gates' promo before...looks amazing! Can never have enough Blackmore/Dio Rainbow...Thanks!
The video footage is take from the Kirschner show, if you look it up on Bob Daisley' youtube channel the original video with RJD signing live is there. Sweet
Blackmore put together an extremely talented band in Rainbow. Great sound. His playing style went so perfectly with the haunting vocals of Gillan and Dio. Cozy Powell and Dave Stone are fantastic also. My Fantastic Four for sure.
The pinnacle of Rock and Roll. Period.
Love, legend singer, legend group 🍀🙏❤️🎶🎼🎵👌🎸✌️🎤🎹🥁🍀
IMHO, this is THE absolute best, most talented lineup ever in Rock music.
I know Rainbow Rising kicks ass but Bob Daisley is much better on bass than Jimmy Bain (RIP)
Amazing work by masters of rock.
Third album I bought in my life in the 70s. Still my favourite guitar solo.
Long Live Rock & Roll was the first Rainbow album I bought, and it paralyzed me in such a great way. This track, LA connection, The Shed, etc… soooo amazing!
Would love to see this amazing group live one more time
Amazing solo Guitar
That solo is absolutely ridiculous. I'm obsessed with it.
Awesomeness
Rainbow's tour de force. Ominous, haunting, beautiful. Composed by Blackmore and David Stone, though David is not listed in the credits, but his keyboards are as brilliant as Blackmore's guitar on this song.
The tour de force was Stargazer, but this is very good also.
Wow this is so so cool Energy and zeal Beautiful Rock with an Amazon group of Gods
Wish those old tapes could be somehow salvaged to look a bit better. That aside, if one closes their eyes and just listens... it's perfection!
This is fucking amazing. Man oh man, how did i miss out on this in my past?? I mean, i knew of the band, and i knew Ronnie was in it. But to realize how huge and epic the band is. Wow! And no one here will know what I'm talking about...but the keyboardist looks like Ola Englund.
Awesome! I love this song!
Ritchies solo is a masterpiece
Great track, absolutely Fabulous
the best song from Rainbow! why today nobody compose songs like this??
Richie still playing dude
listen therion
PEOPLE, that is one of the best guitar solos ever.
Pretty wild, with that driving groove.
i grew up with yngwie
i really appreciate uli roth, blackmore and schenker much more now
This will never be duplicated in any fashion .
One of their best.
My best Deep Purple eternal album 💿 which contains the most and best classic group: Blackmore, Gillan, Glover, Lord and Ian paice is of course “ Made in Japan 🇯🇵 “ recorded in 1972 in Tokyo and Osaka with the most known & amazing songs played till this very day .
Bob Daisly was amazing with Rainbow..!!!!
These albums with Ronnie were Ritchie's finest hour -- I think at least. So many great tunes that have that timeless quality (trendy stuff sounds dated when the fashion passes).
P.S. Ritchie's solo tones. They are all good, but the one I would like to be able to get myself is actually the stuff on Perfect Strangers. All that liquid sustain and space that makes even a basic lick sound awesome when bending and sustaining notes etc. I guess amp volume and boosting the amps are the key ingredients, but beyond that I do not have a clue how he did it, e.g., the solos in Knocking On Your Back Door, or Wasted Sunsets etc (there's some phaser or something going on too).
It´s a masterpiece of the harmonic minor.
Best hard rock, metal band
I can take you anywhere...and did. Rock In Peace Ronnie James Dio.
Blackmore the sorcerer, Dio the wizard
It’s a master class amazing
Amazing
It doesn’t get much better than this! How was this not the biggest album of 1978??
American radio never gave them any airplay. I think the disco crap was still a thing
Van Halen hit and shifted the scene, may have been a factor.
@@nathanwells9136 fair point. Big album in the UK but stiffed in the US.
Deep Purple was great! But Rainbow with Dio was the best!
Maravilloso.
Cozy
Ficou encurtada haha. Isso foi proposital né Ritchie?? kk
Obviously the best Rainbow album
The best song they ever did. David Stone on the intro.
Even though the clips are arranged in random order, and the parts that show Ritchie playing, aren't at the correct time, it's like MTV. A promo video. Still cool.
1:54 🖤 Exactly what you came here for!
Right
👍🇧🇷✌️☕️🌞☮️ Very very nice!!!
What a voice,goddamn!
Ronie James Dio's 'don't talk to strangers'.
Incrivel! Um fã do brasil ❤
David Stone 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
🤘🏻I love this song
Absolutely
Unbelievable they never 👎 included this masterpiece on a live album 💿
Long Live Rock'n"Roll 1977
Looks like Ronnie James Dio's Rainbow to me.
They were going to reunite around '97 '98 but cozy died and they cancelled it
Is that right?
@@markpalavosvrahotes5575 yeah it would have been great, Ritchie only wanted to play with cozy as drummer
Rainbow es sinónimo de grandesa musical.
Mucha razón Alberto
Is the best rainbow 🌈 song 🎶 and unbelievable was not included in any live album of the band
Colin "Cozy Powell" Trevor Flooks 😢
Ronald James Padavona 😢
🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
💜💯
The parents sent him to learn clasical guitar but he end up successful and famous in rock.
🤘👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹🤘 zajebisty perfect gigantyczny mega super
Best composition of rainbow🌈 the gates of the Babylon
My favourite Rainbow Song...Pity they never played it Live...
Yes. This and ‘Tarot Woman’ apparently never translated to the stage, when the band tried them. Thankfully RJD played them both during the latter days of Dio.
star gazer aswell i think it may have a couple times but remember reading they didnt do it much as it has the full orchestra, plus i figured it could be a chore to perform not saying dio couldnt.
Clasicc Heavy Metal Rainbow RONNIE JAMES DIO The Best 🔥
Blackmore's best guitar solo ever
Agree.
In second place comes the solo in "A Light in the Black".
- a time will come when every having to be lifted up and so as in Great But also Beware as in that time when so to be (The Gates of Babylon) has also been then as for in doing
⚡️killah⚡️
Hey let's put in some camels during Ritchies solo....not that it matters, he's miming anyway.
Haha. Hilarious.
Why is the bass rig behind Blackmore and the Marshalls behind Daisley?
They did a couple of videos with this set up, is it a little inside joke because they‘re not playing live?
Padre d l guitar😊😊😊😊😊😊
How do they get that echo effect that starts at 3:45 I've always wondered about how groups got that effect
Ritchie Blackmore WAS The best guitarist of the big 3 of the 70s.
Who were the other two?
@@markpalavosvrahotes5575 fans refer to Blackmore Page and Iommi as the big 3
@@detpak Ok thanks.
Only DIO.
Mike Stone’s finest hour…what happened to him?!
Ritchie Blackmore could be more popular if he has much more friendly attitude..
yeah maybe, but then he wouldn't be Ritchie^
he is sociopathic, I think
Temple of the king live🤗
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of Solomon.
Psalm 127 - All Is In Vain Without God . The truest word spoken by an Arab (pre-Islamic) in poetry is this verse of Labid: "Behold! apart from Allaah everything is vain." ''Everything besides Allah is Baatil''. ''The Vainness of All Things Except Allah''
And who played keyboards in this song?
David Stone
Ritchie already wearing a wig in 1978
Are you drunk?
класс
This is the real Rainbow. Not that since you've been gone nonsense.
