baseball cap wear.. its never washed.. its lots of finger oils on the edges where you put it on and adjust it.. the bill gets the brunt of it even when you try to keep it up and nice looking.. and the back side when you typically lean up on something with the back of your head.. sometimes the fold areas get a little worn or faded.. other than that.. not a lot of weathering.. but some fading and some staining in the sweatband areas from the temples to the front. it takes on a salted water look in the dark parts on the undersides of the bill as well.. and the sweatband along the lower parts of the sides and back of the cap.
thanks mate you were the only one i could find on this
Hope it helps! What's your project about?
the spanish civil war. since we couldnt find german helmets for less than 50$ we are going with the hats the germans used. it'll be done by december i'll send a link when it is
Ahh that's awesome :D send it over when you are finished, would love to see it!
You did dat!
Could I use this technique say on a felt cowboy hat?
Yeah I'm sure a felt cowboy hat would take to this weather technique really well!
@@TheFilmLook thanks!
hey film look plz have a giveaway session
We'd love to! We are currently working up to it :) maybe next year!
Tom?
maybe without the tea part
That’s the whole point of making it look like an old dirty hat that’s been through a lot. Especially on white it makes sense
Why do you want to make a cap look old? idgi
To aid the backstory of the character. This character had been working at a pizza shop for years. He's also the type of person who wouldn't be bothered about washing his uniform. Having a old, dirty, weathered cap gives us visual clues about his personality. It gives life to the characters before the cameras start rolling.
Great vid. Thanks!
Tom Holland doing tutorials since Spiderman Got canceled
Gotta keep making.
I wore the same Baseball cap for 9 years and i gotta say, that's pretty damn accurate XD
I want an AC/DC hat and I wanna do this to it.
