- Are you someone who wants to start wearing caps more but you don’t know which cap to go for? Or have you tried a load of caps but none of them seem to suit you? Caps come in a load of different shapes and sizes, so finding the right cap for you can be really tricky! there will be a cap out there that suits your face shape, you might have just been choosing the wrong ones.
In my opinion, caps are a really amazing accessory to utilise. They can make an otherwise simple or boring look a lot more interesting, but the wrong cap can just as easily let down a look, so it’s important to get it right.

Go for a trucker style cap - they are the only style that suits me. However, if you like it - then f**k it.
Edit - don’t worry every front profile picture you take of yourself in a cap won’t look good.

I’m not really a cap person nowadays, but this is such a wonderfully detailed look at them, that it was simply impossible not to love it. I will definitely give this a rewatch if I do decide to buy a cap or two.

I love dad hats, my go to right now is the 'clean up' hat from 47. I never liked structured hats, they always felt juvenile or like I just left baseball practice.

Tbh this was an interesting watch. I bought this flat brimmed high profile cap that it felt a little awkward to wear. But i guess this gave me the courage to finally curve that brim and it looks alot better depite being so high. Thank you!

For day to day stuff, the dad hat. Over here, we call all structured or not, pre-curved, low profile hats, but some are just to low, so the don’t stay on.
For something a little nicer, you HAVE to go fitted, especially if you’re gonna take it off… I have a brown St. Pauli 59fifty, with brown embroidered logo… it’s so neat and clean looking. It has a lot to do with not being as loud with the colors…
Some tips and recommendations from someone who wears lot's of hats. If you prefer fitted i would recommend new era 39thirty flex fit and Columbia stretch fit trucker style hats. Both brands come in S to XL. Put the brim in a tall round coffee mug to get that nice curve to it if you don't like straight brims. Or put a silicone wrist band around the brim. Take a blow dryer on the hottest setting to the crown to relax it and bring it down some if it's to high. Just press it down with your hands right after while it's still warm. Repeat the processes until you get the desired look. These methods will work for snap back hats as well. Makes the hats look 10 x better in my opinion.

I love how they say one-size-fits-all I see your adjustment hanging out the right side of your hat by far mine is on the last one and Pops off the hat sets on my head without even going down. I had to special-order a graduation cap to fit

'47 Brand franchise is just like the '47 Brand clean up except its fitted. Its also mid profile (3 1/4) so could be right up your alley. It's my go to dad hat, and a hidden gem that nobody talks about.
I’ve always just thrown my hats at the wall, too. Never thought about wearing them on my head. 🤔

For golf caps Callaway's "Side Crest" looks amazing. The ultime dad hat for me haha.
I bought a Helikon-Tex trucker cap recently, but i gave it to my dad because it didn't fit my head and face shape at all. It was unstructured and somewhat shallow, and the brim was weird, curved at the tip but very much less curved at the root. I looked funny wearing it. I never really gave much thought to caps ever, thanks for clearing up some of this cap lingo.

At one point I was not so much of a hat person but I did always kinda like the low profile strap back/ SnapBack hats but it’s hard to find one of those that look good on my at times. I then tried out the New Era 59Fifty Low Profile bc I liked the low crown better and it was good. I then got into the regular 59Fifty and I kinda prefer them over all others. I guess a high crown fitted in general is my go to. I’d say they can be the easiest to wear with a lot of things and can be just as versatile since they come in a lot of colors, materials, and styles. From corduroy to trucker there’s quite a lot to choose from and honestly I feel like you can’t go wrong with them
I really have had a hard time finding a cap for me. Biggest problem for me is I'm nearly 6ft tall and have a "big head" lol. The only hat I found is Columbia's Flex fit hats. I also have NF1 and if I wear a snap back hat it will cause one of my small spots to be exposed on head. Thank you for info. It's kinda frustrating for me because have good Headwear is important for me when I go to range to keep glaring sun off my face.
Trucker caps are my go to. They suit me the best.

I have a big head 7 5/8 , and fitted new era hats make my head look even bigger… I recommend a lower profile had like a dad cap

I usually wear snapbacks with wide flat brims. I've only recently started wearing New Era fitted 59FIFTY caps, I've had to try them on for size. I'm generally a size 7 1/4 or 71/8. Watching from London.
I love Ebbetts, I love the retro feel and look to their caps. P,us 8m a baseball fan, those caps suit me better. Most of my snapbacks, have the plastic strap, I find they detrioriate after a few washes.

For the best variety, get 1 cap each from dsquared2 baseball cap, Amiri/Nahmias trucker and Ralph Lauren polo bear. 3 very different but very classy styles every man should own

Seriously I've struggled for years with caps, I find a youth under armour Blitzkrieg cap fits me like a glove (most the time), the problem is so many dad's wear them and I want to wear something else. My issue is how caps sit on my ears. Not sure what the equivalent is in new era, but I have tried a lot of hats and find these to fit the best if anyone else is struggling with a smaller head.
I’m a size 7 7/8 cap, so standard sized hats very rarely fit. I finally found a hat that fits and looks ok, the new era low profiles are great for big headed dudes and less bulky than regular new era.
I also have a larger head size of 7-3/4. Years ago I found a company called Big Head Caps in Tennessee. They have a great online selection of caps and brimmed hats. All their styles are built for big heads. You would love them.

My head is 24.5 inches in circumference (which is pretty big) so I look very weird wearing a cap so I make up for it by having good grooming
I’ve been wearing New Era 59fifty style caps for about 30 years now. Anything less just annoys me. Probably not the best “style” for me, but at this point if I wore anything else my friends and family wouldn’t recognize me!

I've been on the hunt for a cap and I can't find one that looks good on me. You talk about panels and point, but can I select a cap based on the shape of my face like sunglasses/eye wear? What's recommended for a long face?

Nice vid! I literally can only wear The North Face DEEP FIT caps (mostly trucker caps) because I have quite a big head (guess because of my height -> 6 3). These are hats which don't look tiny on me or look like they are removing the top part of my head.

I like caps, and I have some, but I don't wear them a lot. Problem is: I have a big head (7 3/4" or about 62 cm), especially in the length, when you look at my head from above, I think. Snapbacks are a really bad idea for me, so I avoid those. And actually, one size fits all is always a big gamble for me. Even caps in three sizes with stretch are not always big enough. I have a Black Clover in size L/XL, which is really tight. When I take it off, the band of the cap is on my head. But idd, New Era is one of the few which does deliver good stuff: a 39Thirty in L/XL or a 59Fifty in 7 3/4". Just wondering: are there really nice other options out there for people with big heads?

Check out Ebbets Field Flannels for the best retro style ball caps. They’re located in my home town Seattle. Great quality felt caps with unique historic designs. They are kinda pricey but totally worth it.
How to find medium profile cap? Low and high are easy to find but medium....
