What type of companies are those that punish, contractors? to the point that groups of drivers and other industry workers, have to continually strike, protest, sue and ask the government to help them to help resolve exploitation, abuse, etc.
Uber takes over 50 percent, sometimes they take 66 percent of my pays

I wish Arizona drivers would get on board. During the protest on Valentine's Day a lot of Arizona drivers truly didn't participate. It was so disappointing.
The problem is these companies only care about stock market profits
Phoenix driver here, Uber has been giving $3.80 rides for a 7 mile trip total. About 15 min ride time, take 4 of those rides and you don’t even make the minimum wage here in AZ. It’s gotten way past ridiculous and bordering on wage theft.

As a former Taxi driver - I warned you all this was gonna happen. We’re all gone now, I owned my cab, made my own hours, paid for maintenance and replacement. It’s all gone and the winners are billionaires investors.

Thats right we need to get rid of uber because they aren’t following the labor laws. Instead we need to support Waymo driverless taxis so that workers won’t be taken advantage of.
Uber and Lyft seem to be locking out drivers in Florida too. Local drivers get rides, then the rides stop for several hours. Uber and Lyft send notices to drivers in Miami to come to key west to drive. The key west drivers get locked out for several hours. Very frustrating. I would never get a e vehicle to drive due to unreliable ride share companies.

Even when you go to busier areas, the app will not turn on....the minimum pay rule is a great idea but it brought problems and now we get nothing.

Small correction the TLC ( taxi and limousine commission ) is the one that implemented this minimum pay rule. No driver asked for it. Now nyc drivers wouldn’t mind it but the TLC didn’t put any rules in place to place to protect us drivers from lockouts which I suspect the TLC did on purpose because when we’re unable to go online guess who’s still out picking up passengers? Yellow cabs, who the city benefits from wayyy more than us rideshare drivers.
No need to worry about NYC TLC will force them to comply with TLC regulations or kick them out
Uber been keeping $62.50 that supposed to b sent 2 Department of revenue I was informed by DOR that they received $2 on 5/22/2004 by Uber not paying DOR my licence could've been suspended and I could've end up in jail if any drivers out there that has a garnishment order check if uber is sending the money u could b driving with a suspended license I made a complaint to the Attorney General of massachusets if u have a garnishment order check if they are getting the money u could b driving on suspended licence stay safe on the road

If drivers would stop taking garbage rides and wait it out for 2 weeks, pay would go up. Lyft is a joke in Orlando now, due to drivers taking 50 cents a mile. It is stupidity. Uber is quickly following suit. Just don't drive. Sit there and deny the rides. Make them pay you to drive, you deserve to pay your overhead and make a profit. If you cannot make $25-30 an hour after expenses, you are taking the wrong trips and saying yes when you should say no. Let the customer wait times go through the roof and watch the pay go up.
Uber needs some real rideshare competition. I can't wait to see who / what new rides businesses rise from the ashes.

The biggest thing that will truly force uber to raise pay is competition like wrides, legislation legislation will help but only in areas were drivers fight for it city by city, state by state, but a federal law would be most ideal covering all the states

Mabye I see this a little differently than the other viewers. All of these legislative items, minimum pay for period 2+3 or in this cases p1+2+3 are being dealt with as constraints in a “cost-minimization” optimization algorythim . The TNCs want to pay drivers as little as possible and charge riders as much as the market can bear. If the constraint is levied that there is pay for period 1 time then that time should be minimized unless there is a high likelihood of additional demand in the near term. The surplus drivers are kicked off the platform to avoid having to pay them.
I’m not saying this is fair or moral but it’s how the TNCs are going to deal with any legislative rules and expecting them to not react this way is unrealistic
Instead of protesting and not driving at all there should be a day in which drivers band together and convert every ride. Take every damn ride and take all the $. Why should the driver's go without pay? Thats how you really take $ out of their pockets.

Here in Indianapolis there are those of us watching a driver getting out of a car handing the next driver the cell phone. Off drives the car. Who they are is hard tell. Taking runs for whatever the app is offer. Great security.
Ubers price gauging here in Tahoe has begun early! 100$ plus for two miles for the rider. 8$ for the driver. No promotions, and it’s summer busy season. Good luck Uber!

let's oversaturate the market with drivers so they can wait and waste their time but when they have to pay them for their time then it hurts them
Exactly, when driver time is free it makes sense to get lots of drivers onto the platform to drive down rates, and use tricks like gamification, bonuses to make pay as opaque as possible while driving down rates. When driver time isn’t free then the number of drivers is managed to minimize pay waiting for a ping.
