This is the first sealed tournament I've watched, and it was really great. I enjoy watching play that's more about coming up with tactics on the fly based on what you have in hand and what's on the board rather than starting the game already knowing what you're going to try to do. (Though that could be because my deck constructing ability, in every CCG I've ever played, has been le pits.)

I'm still learning this game so I have a genuine question: Around 3:22 he has Ariel (a princess) already in play and then plays Moana. Would it have been possible to first challenge or quest with Ariel and then ready her with Moana and then decide to leave her in the ready state or challenge? (He wouldn't be able to quest again but I imagine a challenge is allowed).

Question: You said you made these decks out of 6 booster packs each. Did you take turns drafting your 6 packs or did you open a pack, choose a card and pass the pack to the next player, like they do in magic?
Amazing Video! Was so happy to see three matches in 18 minutes which I wasn't expecting, excellent editing/pacing! Curious if you have any footage of opening the sealed drafts and all of your opinions on what cards to keep and chuck. Also is the deck list for a sealed draft locked between matches or are you allowed to modify the deck list depending on the match up?
We talked a lot about if we should make that content with this tournament footage. Ultimately we decided it would be very under viewed as a stand alone, and having 5-10 minutes of looking at pool before game play would also turn people off. We would love feed back if you think its important though. Some of our deans wanted to put it in.
@@LorcanaAcademy Thinking it over the deck Intro, in the beginning, is likely the best choice, it gives a glimpse into the expected strategy of each deck without using up too much time. In my opinion, NerdGirl intro was perfect and Airball with a simple response summarised his general response plan. I feel from a viewer's point of view this set the scene for the match. In future Airball matches (with this decklist) it would be nice if he opens with his plans and then whomever he is versus then talks about how their deck hopes to respond. As an aside maybe the player who is more in the agro style should highlight their cards and the other player with the slower deck answers with what they hope to draw to win against their opponents' threats (Assuming y’all know each others decklist).
Came to the comments to ask the same, too. I'd be interested in a video on opening the packs and building the decks. Great stuff, though, fun matches to watch, thanks

Game looks cool the cards look cool just don't like that you can't stop your opponent from questing that's the main way yo win you think you'd be able to block it
There are cards to prevent opponents from questing. Such as making a character only able to attack, keeping an opponent card exerted, or just destroying cards.
I look forward to the day this games supply meets demand so we can actually do this type of stuff
It's a careful balance. Too much supply tanks single values, and makes it look like it's not moving. Not enough and people can't participate

Yes! This is a sealed format game. This means you build out if 4 or 6 packs. And you can use all of your cards!

Yes. When readying a card like that, you can challenge or you can leave it ready to protect it from challengers. It's just the questing it can't do.
True, except that Moana's ability only happens when she quests, and she can't quest the turn she comes into play.

Sealed is not the same as drafting. You do not pick cards and pass, you just build from your pool in the 6 packs.
