Thanks for making this video, I have bought HF Motorcycle lift just a couple months back. I was lucky to get the old style, as I need to park my truck over the lift when not using it. I like to park in the garage in the winter, not fond of scraping windows and brushing snow off early in the morning. Not so sure the added height of the newer lift would have worked for me. So far I have had no problems with my lift, but I'm only using it for a Honda Dream and a Nighthawk. Thanks again !!!!
Thank you for the comment. Ya our three we use them everyday, so far so good. Nighthawk, nice,, have not seen one for some time. Thank you for watching.. Take care.. Subscribe if you have time.
Thank you.. We know there are better lifts, not sure why some people would think we would not one nicer lifts?? We would love to be buying RC30s and OWO1s all day long too,, LOL but at $45000 plus each,, we like the ZX7s and like saving the older bikes,, FOR SURE The Kawasaki H1 and H2.. LOVE THEM.. Just bought a H2 yesterday, watch for the video. THANK YOU FOR THE KIND comment.
Thanks to this video I called 8 stores and got one of last of the Old ones. I had been putting off this purchase for years and might have kicked myself for missing out.
Nice, I am glad that the video helped.. Our older version lifts are almost two years old.. so far so good. Thank you for letting us know.. Wish you the best..
I've had that older style for about 6 years. No real complaints once I upgraded the wheel chock to a vice Style. I also added a 12 inch wide strip of skateboard grip tape down the whole center. No reliability issues.
They are great lifts for 1/3 the price. Change the wheel vise to something better and you're golden. It's over 300lb and built pretty solid, no worries
I’ve had mine for over 25 years, paid $239.00 plus shipping back when they were catalog only. Lifts my 1000 lb Goldwing with no problem. Just bought the HF large wheel vice to be installed. Added two long carriage bolts to the front corners to eliminate the tipping forward and a couple extra eye bolts for more tie down points. I’m very pleased with mine.
Nice.. Thank you for letting us know. Nice to hear feedback.. Have a great day. Thank you for following 101 Garage.. We do a lot on Instagram 101GarageArizona
Several things about the older model. The C stock used for the bottom frame is more rigid and resists the urge to spread outward when the safety bar is applying weight. It can and has failed causing the lift to collapse. If both sides spread outward it goes downward. If it becomes unbalanced and leans it tips over. The new model being L stock increases this risk even with the more robust cross bracing. The lower down height of the lift means you can pull a vehicle into a garage and have enough clearance. As always be aware of what you are buying. These are good lifts and do what they need to. The aforementioned failure was heavy bikes or items left in the up position. Don"t be the person that comes back a few days later and finds the project on its side. 101 you did a fantastic presentation.
I have the lift with the pin on the release shaft. I drilled a hole through and insert a small pin. It's much easier than trying toi find the divit for the screw to go into
Nice.. sounds like you have it figured out.. I hope your lift is as good for you as they are for us.. Have a great day... Thank you for watching 101 Garage. If you get time watch our Muzzy Raptor th-cam.com/video/80qz6O3oftw/w-d-xo.html

Your welcome,. Yes I have seen that at HF.. I was surprised in the differences. I took the new lift that broke back and then drove 50 miles to pick up an older model lift across town. Thanks for checking us out..
@@101GarageArizona I drove 5 hours round trip for a mint condition, used older model after seeing the many differences you pointed out - totally worth it.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Very helpful. Do not let the haters in the comments get you down. Everything any more is garbage, just how much do you want to pay for your garbage. I have had my HF lift for 6 years no problems. Keep up the great work. People are just angry for the choices in life they have made and take it out on others. Peace

... I found one on craigslist and it already had the Condor wheel chock. It has a little bit of chipped paint on the deck but function wise, it works great. While watching multiple reviews I was seeing differences in the lifts and then I found this review and you explained everything VERY well. You answered a lot of my questions. I feel lucky that I got the older model. Thank you for a great video. I know they take a lot of time to film, edit and upload. . Jeff .
Glad to hear. Thank you for your kind comment too. I tried, hard when no editing LOL. Did my best as I was so disappointed on the new lift, but ok with the old one. Wish you well.
If you dont have $1200 for a high end professional lift these will get you by. Another good thing is you can go to your local harbor freight & pick it up there. Those other lifts are truck freight items, so i would assume shipping costs are high. I've had buddies complain that these delivery drivers will not pull up to your garage or drive way to get the item closer. Once it's unloaded off the lift gate onto the street its your problem.
HEY>> nice comment, Thank you. I am sure one day we will upgrade. Maybe just have two nicer lifts and not three cheaper lifts. We have had a lot of issues with deliveries at the street etc..These lifts are heavy, without a forklift you would have to open the create and take in one part at a time and for sure have a friend. Thank you for the feedback and chat.. Have a great rest of your week.
I have a Handy , best shop addition there is. If you check around you can pick up a Handy direct from a distributor. No shipping. Check Mile X in Coldwater, Ohio. If you’re close enough. There are other places that you can pick up as well.

Only complaint about the new HF lift is the Jack started to fail after a year old. So they don’t sell rebuild kits but will send you another Jack. I just converted it to an air hydraulic jack and been really happy with it now. First thing I trashed was that wheel cock. That it came with. They do sell a better motorcycle cock and that’s worked out great.
That’s dope you have a few zx7Rs I’ve been looking for some oem pArts bc mine was stolen from a old tenant that rented a apartment above my old garage I rented stole off all three of my street bikes I was restoring/project dirt bike parts all kinds of stuff long story short

I need a small help .. I purchased this lift today after your review . I installed it . Great .. I noticed something about the hydraulic lever was not straight , but slightly bend . Is that normal ? Plz help
The lever that you can take off and on that jacks it up? If so yes it is bent out so that you can get your foot on it.. I am truly happy we could help. We like our lift so far. Have had one for over a year now. IF that is not what you were talking about let me know.. Thank you.. Have a nice night.

Not sure? Never heard of that, will check it out. These lifts have been doing fine for us. One we have had for a year. Not sure why I do and dont do a lot of things. I do thank you for checking us out and your feedback. Take care.
Yes. but our kickstand would do no good as the wheel chalk we use keeps it up straight. I am not saying it could not be wider,, but yes I can sit on the bike and touch the base. We are using sport bikes, skinnier than some bikes.. sooo I have not complaints and to be honest I push everything on. Hope that helps.. Take care. Thank you for watching 101 Garage.
No offense, but I'm not sure what you would be doing to have trouble with the rear wheel drop out panel. I've been using these lifts for years and never once had a problem in my shop with any of the three I have. 2 are old and 1 is newer style, and never had the problem you mentioned and I use my lifts daily.
It is only on the new lift that has been out for maybe 6 months. Not a big problem with the panel, but if you just drive over it wrong, or for sure hit the front brake it pops out. HEY I did mention it could be the user LOL.. We now only have the older versions, we like them just fine. I even get crap for using these lifts and not Snap On, etc.. These have been working great so far. NO OFFENSE,, I like the conversation.. Have a great day,, and thank you for checking us out.
@@101GarageArizona Funny, I get crap about using the Harbor Freight lifts too. I don't understand why. I've been using mine for year (I have 3 of them now) and they have always worked great. I did just buy a nice Snap-On lift for heavier bikes so that I wouldn't have to pump with my leg so hard, but I still use the HF lifts daily with no issues.
Ya that is what we did.. well the older lift of the two in the video. We went through a lot of trouble to get the third lift to be the old one,,, had to return the new left. was fun to load back into the truck LOL. Have a great day.. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING and SHARING. 101 Garage
@@101GarageArizona I bought one at a auction yesterday it was the old one in like new condition and four guys picked it up and put it on my trailer because people are idiots the way they parked
There sure is. Better bikes too, but I can only work with in the funds and time I have. I guess if I had all the money I needed to buy all the best stuff, I could maybe just pay others to fix everything? :) To just find someone to do carbs is almost impossible, AND they probably would not show up anyways,,,, it would cost over $1500 plus. Thank you for check us out.. maybe one day we can get nicer lift, but then others would say we were dumb to spend so much money on lifts.. You know its true.. Have a good day.
That’s true for sure, but if you are not a pro, a thousand dollars may be hard to justify. I do have the old style for five or six years, with zero failures. Would a I love a “Handee” or other high end lift, hell yeah. But I’m retired and only work on my own or friends for zero pay. I think a lot of guys are in the same boat. Just sayin’ .
Those lifts are complete garbage. Handy lifts were the industry standard for a reason. Even the Chinese knock offs are stellar compared to this junk. I would worry about losing a foot using them on a daily basis.
Nice,, LOL.. I hope not to lose a foot. I am guessing you are correct, I am sure there are much better lifts. We only have had them for a year with no issues yet, but guessing we should upgrade if we get many more bikes. Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day.
I've had mine for 8 years or so, no issues whatsoever. Just a homeowner, not a professional mechanic. It lifts everything I put on it,goes up when I want, safely goes down when I want. Currently have a 2004 Kawasaki Concours on it. Stable and in my humble opinion plenty safe with the load bearing bar in place. I'm not a rich man, and this lift fulfilled all my requirements at the right price.
Maybe buy a tripod, cause the minute I see a camera swinging all over the place it makes your videos UNWATCHABLE and I click the thumb down button. Also who is we , or our??? There was only one guy in this video. Also it is clear by the contents of you garage you have plenty of cash, why not spring for a better quality lift like a snap on? So helpful of only have three digits of the ups code. Might be more helpful if you put the WHOLE ups code in the description below. My comments are constructive criticism designed to be helpful, not insult you in any way.
No,,, your right.. I do need to do better on our videos. Sorry it was a thumbs down. Only have been doing this for like 50 days. Only did it as a bunch of people were asking me to..LOL Thats how it starts, right. We would be me and my 12 year old, maybe the bikes,? I bought the bikes for him,, hope he gets into them soon. He names them,, and cleans them,, thats about it. :) I would probably have some money,, if I would stop buying bikes to try to save them.. I need help,, have some issues. I am hoping to get a couple of years out of the lifts and then upgrade, after I learn a little bit more about what is out there. These have done ok for a year,, an ok run so far. HEY,,, thank you,, I can take it,, I could use some help figuring out what I am doing wrong. I will try to add the UPC code from the boxes in the comments... Thank you for the feedback.. Have a great week..
And yet...you've managed to sound EXTREMELY insulting throughout your post. I do thank you for checking us out and your feedback. Take care.
Can you get up there with your motorcycle and stop and put your feet out and put the kickstand down
Yes. but our kickstand would do no good as the wheel chalk we use keeps it up straight.
Personally I would rather have the old lift
Ya that is what we did.. well the older lift of the two in the video. We went through a lot of trouble to get the third lift to be the old one,,, had to return the new left. was fun to load back into the truck LOL. Have a great day.. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING and SHARING. 101 Garage
@@101GarageArizona I bought one at a auction yesterday it was the old one in like new condition and four guys picked it up and put it on my trailer because people are idiots the way they parked
👍
I hoped that the video helped.. Thank you for checking out 101 Garage. Take care.
Why aren't these made in America..
Ya right.. why isnt everything made here... ? I agree. I can not ever figure it all out.. Have a nice day..
LOL
:)
There are much better equipment out there
There sure is.
Used one for over 10 years multiple times daily I’m my motorcycle shop. Zero issues
I would probably have some money,, if I would stop buying bikes to try to save them..
Congratulations, now get out to YOUR shop, put your bike on YOUR lift, and make a stellar video showing us all how it should be done. Learn some humility while you're at it. Condescending doesn't impress me at all, actions do.
@@talltom1129 Please google what constructive criticism means. I strive to do better in life and I encourage people around me to do the same. If you can not see that then the problem is yours. I hope you can learn to do better. Good luck.
