As a widow of 18 years I have found You tube to be helpful many times. Today was no exception. I did a TH-cam search on how to change a headlight on my 2017 Toyota Rav4. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I’m a 26 year old dude and am mechanically stupid beyond all accounts. I just left work, realized my headlight was out, and was already starting to stress bout the possibility of not being able to do it on my own (something so simple) and having to go into a shop and be charged a million bucks for a headlight. I got to my apartment, took it out in the parking lot. Now all I have to do is buy the replacement in the morning and all done!

The visuals on this video are the best by far. I messed up and tried to insert my bulb while connected to the orange plug. It was almost impossible to install! Epic fail. Going back and will be using a step ladder this time, and doing it in the proper order and manner. Thanks so much for this very methodical and very clear video!

Clear instructions, but it’s definitely not as easy as the video shows! It’s one of those “fiddle with it” for like 20 mins until it comes out/screws in properly. I’m not sure if hybrids are different, but there were a few times I felt like giving up cause it wasn’t going as smooth as the video shows! But I didn’t give up and it actually worked!! 🎉😅

That’s it? Holy crap! A mechanic wanted to charge me 200 dollars for the lightbulb and 85 dollars to install it. I told him to justify that for me. I knew he was full of bs when he said it had to be a special bulb that required special tools to install.

I was pushing the little release tab AFTER I unscrewed the bulb. Pushing the tab while the bulb is still in makes all the difference.

Thats the high beam light dic*.
The headlights sits inside the round plate that needs twisting to get to the normal headlights change.
