Several points to add here. 1. If your A4 have advanced options, you will NOT be able to use this camera! Audi would have already installed a camera in the front bracket of the mirror mount (@5:30) . Look from the front of your car and see if there is a camera under your rear view mirror. 2. To take that big cover off, pry it at two points (about 1/3 apart) ONLY on ONE of the long sides. This will disengage the 2 side clips (as shown on the right @6:27 and then again left next to, and behind, his left index finger @6:29) and then tap on the other side. The cover should pop off from the SAME side you are prying. Next push cover towards the other side. The whole cover should come lose and just fall straight down. Don't pry it off from front to back, like what he has done. The 2 broken clips are meant to control the particular direction, thats why they both broke off (in his case, even at @4:42). 3. The camera tends to run hot, so I cut away the back of the camera's mount inside the shroud to help discipate heat. 4. Parking monitor is NOT motion activated. It is a simple time laps recoder with no audio. 5. Something to be aware of, it will only timelaps record up to 48hrs! Meaning, if you leave your car for more than your set amount, the Camera will stop recording all together untill the next time you start your car.
I’m sure your intentions are good, and you have a good grasp of how to do the job, but if you are posting the instructions/demonstrations video on TH-cam, it would make a massive difference if you could enlist someone to hold your phone while you’re doing it.
It's very easy to install with the instructions from the manufacturer itself. He could have just done a product review instead of an installation video.
On mine, 2019 A7, no, only when you trigger the unlock button. Pretty much whenever power is being routed to the individual components of the car. It's nice. Well blending.
If your A4 have advanced features you might not be able to use this camera. Check by looking from the front of your car and see if Audi has already installed a camera under the rear view mirror. If you don't see a camera then you are golden else the answer would be a, no.
Thanks. Here’s a short clip. I don’t know if google photos compresses the quality. I can read license plates if that helps. The name of the dash cam is Fitcamx. I posted a link in the description of the video. I got it on Amazon. photos.app.goo.gl/znRtdb9DGcTK7qN99

Hi! Can you please advise how to properly remove rear mirror during this process? Because I'm afraid I'll brake it. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to make the video my friend ,Amazon are currently out of stock so do you know who else sells these cameras ?

ikr, he was killing himself trying to hold the camera and work at the same time🤣🤣
@@recapv7615 yes indeed. It was painful to watch, so I stopped and now I haven’t found out how to do it !!

You will also tend to break smaller parts doing it solo.
Hi, do you have constant power in that sensor, ex. when car is parked during the night or just with egnition ?
On mine, 2019 A7, no, only when you trigger the unlock button. Pretty much whenever power is being routed to the individual components of the car. It's nice. Well blending.
No. Only a switched 12V. No ACC. The closest point I can think off is at the side fuse panel next to the driver door.
nice vid , but i didn't get where did you take 12v from , that red/yellow wire?
It’s a T wire harness. You plug the camera where the rain sensor was and plug the rain sensor to the harness.
@@Rey-no4lz i see, ty, ordered one )
Will this fit a 2017 Audi A4? Also, what is the part called and where can I get it? Thanks in advance
Yes. Mine was 2017 A4.

Any issues so far?
Does it records while parked and someone is around the car?
No issues so far. Yes, it does record in park.
@@Rey-no4lz nice. Thanks for replying. Hopefully it has battery protection too. (Eg: stop recording if battery is low)
@@paralelmind I don’t think it has battery protection. You can set how many hours after parking it will detect motion: 12h, 24h, or 48h.
It is (supposed) to have low battery protection but then, it will ONLY time laps record up to 48hrs. After that it will shut off anyways.
How did you connect or give the cam power?
nice video and can you add some information about the recording quality of such a camera? what is the name of this camera.
