I love the lore. My dream video series would be one short lore video for every single EQ expansion. I missed many of them along the years and don't know how the lore evolved or what the big plot points were. Just an idea 🙂
I'll join the chorus! More videos like this! It's especially great when you start to get into how events from the expansions play into the overall narrative. Maybe a few whodunnits as well (like, who killed Luclin and why?).
love the lore. but ancient orges were not "of questionable intelligence". they were struck dumb by the other gods. same with goblins, orcs, giants, all rallos creations. on beta, we are legit living out the battles helping the elddar elves repel the rallos invasion. orge wizards, and bards npc. Laurion's Song will give people big insight lore wise into ancient norrath. kaladim/butcherblock/dagnors cauldron do not exist yet in that expansion. unkempt woods is where we battle the invasion, its dagnors cauldron before it was flooded. pallomen the city of the elddar, is elddar forest from the past. moors of nokk is the area of blightfire and crescent reach in the past. please keep going with the lore, love it !
@@RedbeardflynnYeah, the big revisions to this part are the following - Rallos' minions were SMART. Really smart. Because intelligence is needed to plan battles and create weapons. But smarter still were the Shissar, CT's most powerful creation to date. It was Shissar teleportation magic that opened the portal to the plane of earth, against CT's direct prohibition. While the 'greater gods' cursed Rallos' armies with all manner of blights (rendering pretty much all but the ice-dwelling giants into idiots), Cazic-Thule's wrath was worse still. He both revealed and released the Greenmist. Nobody knows where it came from, nobody seems to be able to counteract it or stop it, it only listens to Cazic-Thule, and once released, until recalled, it will annihilate anything it finds that it was given permission to. The Shissar managed to slow it down and telport off of Norrath through a massive sacrifice-boosted ritual that claimed the lives of virtually all of their slaves. Thus the snakes on the moon. CT eventually recalled the mist, which is why the combine domes weren't cracked open by it. EQ2 continued that part of the story, as instead of PoP occurring, Rallos launched a massive crusade on norrath, declared an alliance with CT, and then betrayed him...which caused CT to release the mist again, this time with permission for any of Rallos' forces. This left them completely shattered by the time CT recalled it, unlikely to ever mount a credible threat to the world again. Back on the EQ1 side of things, as the Ogres slowly recover their intelligence, the whole Zek family has been aghast at the fact that many of them have turned to Cazic. And Lady Luclin (calling her that to clairify that I'm not talking about her moon) is currently protecting the torpid form of the restored CT with her full powers, because 'he will be needed'. We don't know if he's gonna play a key role in something, or if he's just needed to keep the Greenmist from going 'Oh, no more Faceless? Guess I just eat EVERYONE then!'

Nice work. I still pull out my OG EQ1 book and read it, time to time. Great back story for a world. Loved how they stuck with it for so long.

Yeah there are some inconsistencies with the reading. This is all from the original book from 1999 and I think they've refined it over the yeara
