I was thinking the same exact thing, but I'm 2 days late so rip me.
I like this fight because while it's a nice homage to sans, it's still it's own fight with mostly unique patterns that's not just a 100% re-skined sans fight.
Also, the comedy bits actually feel like something that would be in undertale

Bird's cute as fuck and has a distinct and interesting characterization despite the characterization clearly being memey in a way that'd fit right into the Undertale cast. Like, with the bird on the surface just being wow cool memey but with still potential for deeper shit if wanted- and that's without even getting into the fight and how that supports the bird's fun uniqueness.
The truly unique rail heart mechanic, the fact that it's so different from standard gameplay, seems a nice reflection of how the bird's sheer coolness seems to isolate them, as they mention their sheer coolness can be dangerous to be around too long. They give me vibes of a powerful aloof badass who really just wants an equal they can play with without holding back, and that'd fit well into the Undertale universe!
...okay this is a bit much for analyzing characterization in a jokey mod but this is so high effort, it deserves it.

if anyone is wondering, there doesnt seem to be a genocide ending since you cant press the fight button during the final bit
if you try to wait on the mercy button it just continues zooming in until it stops and waits for you to press it
Yeah I tested that, So a few things ive noticed. Some Attacks will grant you HP, Such as The Rail attack if you get hit by the bird and don't die (Game over if you do), The Mario attack if you get to the top of the pole, of course the Help from the bird in menu since you cant use anything else really you actually can skip it and just press act instead and it wont heal you but the outcome is the same.
i can confirm that i didnt add in a genocide route - it was on the "if i have time" list but in the end i wasnt able to get around to it, plus it was hard for me to imagine being able to break through how cool the bird was to land a final blow. maybe some day though....?
@@bobacupcake Perhaps If the Coolness is too dangerous, Maybe A mirror could show it? Or Maybe The Slice animation gets an update and its one of the coolest slices ever?

SO yeah that was the most surprising ending and everything else is supporting how surprising it is, like he becomes a literal being of insane power, destroys the power limiters, and despite being so cool he just lets you spare him. One of the only joke mods that let you spare the fanmade enemy that mod made. Even more surprising cause it seemed like he was willing to do anything to kill you.
Extra: I forgot a whole bunch of stuff so now this just sounds goofy
This is absolutely amazing! The only thing that could possibly improve it would be if the Cool Bird's theme included the leitmotif of the Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap.

At first I thought this game was very low detail and took one second to make but over the fight it gets crazier and crazier to the point where you’re literally jumping on your option buttons
While watching I questioned whether this is an animation or a game multiple times. When I got to the end I checked the description and sure enough, it's a real game. And I fuckin love it.

The white soul mechanic is really creative
A little detail I noticed is when the soul changes color, it's not pure white (#ffffff) it's instead (#eeeeee) so it's more a smoky white soul then a white soul, since white souls are already monster souls.
