The first reaoson for this is when reading the scripture and taking quotes out a lot of Hindus Muslims etc like to miss out key bits of he quotes as seen in a basics of sikhi video where a Muslim preacher tried to tell bhai jagraj Singh one quote to then he missed out key bits of the quote therefore changing it to which bhai jagraj Singh then corrected him and he quote completely changed. And secondly even if you have read the quotes write the gurus written in such beautiful poetry that many people have different interpretations and unless you know Gurmukhi the language of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji marahraj then you will not fully be able to interpret what it is saying. Prophethood and guruship are two different concepts, they cannot be equated. The truth that all the prophets and the gurus claimed were the same, in that there is one god without any caste, colour, creed, gender, association or indeed religion. The quran mentions that there ARE not were many other prophets and that the message has been sent to every people on earth. The only reason guru nanak is not understood to potentially be part of the Islamic 'Prophethood' is because he came chronologically after mohammed due to the line in the quran about 'We have now sealed your religion'. This does not necessarily mean that there chronologicallly can't be any other enlightened souls. Sikhism actually is not a religion but a philosophy that has been turned into a religion by its adherents, just like every other religion on earth. I once gave dawah to a Sikh guy but he was not willing to accept the truth. His reasons were that his Sikh ancestors fought and died for Sikhism so he cannot leave that way. Allah SWT guides who he wills. One way ticket to jahanam because of pure ignorance by blindly following your ancestors.

@Kenneth George You ask why I love being a Sikh and I can give you thouands of reasons. Our Gurus showed us what it truly means to serve humanity. Go to any gurdwara and get a free meal called Langar, regardless of who you are. Gurus stood up for women, other religions and the down trodden. Gurus instructed us that all are equal in the eyes of God. THere is no race , sexism, racism and we are all equal. Gurus told the world 500 years ago men and women were equal. Gurus instructed Sikhs to work hard, earn honest living, meditate on God's name and share with others. Gurus told Sikhs to love all humans. Gurus told Sikhs to stand up for everyone rights. Gurus taught us to control our lust, anger , ego, pride, attachment and follow 5 virtues. That is just the beginning of it all, there is much more to SIkhism. You are spot on. Our Gurus taught us to respect all people of all religions. We do not insult other people's religions, but unfortunately it seems that Muslims have not been taught by their Koran to have respect for anybodies religion so they alway look for ways to insult and disrespect all religions. When we pray we say sarbat da bhalla, which means to bless all of humanity, not just our Sikh people. Islam doesn't ask God to bless all of humanity, just the Muslims. We do not marry our blood relatives and create babies with our cousin brothers or sisters, we call our cousins our brothers and sisters. Sikhi does not allow 1 man to keep multiple women. The truth has always been the same; that One inconceivable "Thing" (call It God) exists within and throughout all things. It can not be named, nor can any image accurately portray It. It's true name and image exists within the creation itself, and with the grace and guidance of a being who has realised this truth (Sat Guru), It can be experienced and realised. God is everything and everything is God, but the ego makes us believe we are separate. Even from a quantum physics prospective, quantum fields permeate throughout the universe and all things in existence are our mind's observable perception of these vibrating quantum fields. Some say that the experience and realisation of God is subjective, but at a deeper level, all experience is subjective. How do you know that we are seeing the same colour when we look at grass, for example? What you call green and what I call green could be two completely different colours (we've both just gotten used to calling that colour "green"), but the objective truth of the the grass' existence, despite it's colour, would be agreed and realised by us both. Similarly, it would be like going to the beach. I could describe to you how the sand would feel on your feet and what the sea breeze would smell like, or you could go and experience it for yourself. Both of our experiences at the beach would be subjective (I might like it, you might dislike it), but the objective truth of the beach's existence could not be denied. The ocean wave is fundamentally a part of the ocean, it is not something separate. The ego of the mind separates them in an attempt to understand what's going on. It is all a part of the play. You could analogise the idea that God exists within all things (including us) to an atom making up all the different things we see around us, yet also being able to take no form and just exist as an atom, similar to how before creation, there was only God. What did God make everything out of? Everything is made out of God, and is God. Some would say that there are many different types of atoms (deities) and some would say the atom is broken down into the "up quark", "down quark" and "electron" (Trinity). But fundamentally, the atom and all it's components arise from vibrating quantum fields. The atom doesn't fundamentally exist, only the quantum fields exist. Similarly, only God exists and all of creation is God experiencing itself. It could be taken one step further, since String Theory and Gurbani are extremely analogous (but we might be here a while lol). Others believe that the atom exists separately from matter (Allah and Yahweh), but the truth of the matter (pun intended) is that the atom has to make up said matter from within. In this way, God exists within, and fundamentally is, the creation. The Guru Granth Sahib is a poetic and musical explanation of this truth. Before Guru Nanak Dev Ji's time, this truth still existed and it will continue to exist when the Earth and human beings are long gone. Guru Arjan Dev ji compiled the Guru Granth Sahib from the poetry of the previous Guru's and other Bhagats before them, who had also realised this truth. The importance of adding the poetry of other Hindu and Muslim Bhagats, who predated Guru Nanak, was to show that this truth can be realised by anyone. To show that fundamentally there is no Hindu nor Muslim (and by extension, no other religions either), there is only God. How does a pilgrimage to Kaaba differ from a pilgrimage to Kashi. How does the ritual of circumcision as a mark of faith differ from the wearing of a thread? What does it matter if you call God Ram or Rahim, if the essesence of the truth hasn't been realised? The arguement then arises that the Guru Granth Sahib is just an amalgamation of other scriptures and that the evidence of this can be seen in the use of words and ideas from within those other scriptures. Had Guru Nanak been born in ancient Greece, he would have used analogies of the Greek gods and misguided people would have said he believed in the Greek pantheon of gods. The Guru Granth Sahib presents the realisation of the truth in it's own unique way. Written as poetry across several languages and sang in Raag, the experience and realisation of Ek Ounkar (the One inconceivable God that exists within) can be attained by anyone through the words of the Guru Granth Sahib. You don't have to change your religion or start performing rituals. In fact, the idea is to abandon religion and rituals and turn towards this truth. Truth is high, but higher still is truthful living. Living through this truth while practicing contentment, humility and compassion, all the while dismissing lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride, is in of itself the realisation of God. If someone believes that Allah (which translates to "The God") exists separately from the creation, then how does that differ from other creator deity gods, like Brahma for example? In this case, the idea that Allah was not created and has always been, is part of the truth. What's missing is that Allah exists within, not separately. The Vedas have the concept of Paramatma, which is part of the truth. However, many wordly rites and rituals are performed around this concept, including idol worship and reclusing to mountains. What's missing is living in society while practicing truth, contentment, humility, compassion and love in the absence of; lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride. The question of "why did this truth only come 500 years ago?" is misguided. This truth has been around since before the beginning and countless beings have spoken and written about aspects of it from time immemorial. Loazi wrote about the Toa, the Vedas speak about Naam, and the Quran speaks about the One, but none were able to encapsulate the entire truth; that the Naam of the One inconceivable Tao exists within. So how is this truth realised? The Guru Granth Sahib shows that the constant remembrance and meditation on Ek Ounkar (the One inconceivable God that exists within and throughout all creation), along with the practice of; truth, contentment, humility, compassion and faith, whilst in the absence of; lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride, will lead to a removal of ego (the illusion of separation) and a realisation of Ek Ounkar. Akaal hi Akaal Gurbar Akaal Sacha Sauda hi Akaal. Bhul chuk maaf.
He started his religion very early so he very well knew wat he was doing. He wasn't that confused but he caused confusion. As causing confusion takes people away from their faith. His successors continued his legacy to mislead muslims and even picked up arms at one stage. It was a well thought plan

It's clear shamsi has no knowledge about guru nanak as people from around the world would visit him after hearing about his message and actions including famous muslims, guru nanak even had a lifelong companion named bhai mardana who was a muslim. Guru nanak was someone who came and guided not only sikhism but people from different religions and would tell them how to become better muslims and Hindus etc. Shamsi has uploaded a video about sikhsim which isnt accurate at all, belittleting the sikh man and has the audacity to upload it to youtube. No Sikhs don't see Satguru Nanak Dev Ji as a mere prophet, but the holy spirit called the Guru Jot which has gone through 10 human forms and is currently in our scriptures through the message itself. We don't eulogise prophets.

Over 500 years ago Guru Nanak Dev Ji said Pataala pataal, lakh agaasa agaas (there are lakhs of world, specifically stated in Dhan Guru Grant Sahib Ji that there are countless planets, suns, moons and galaxies created by Almighty Waheguru). Today, our knowledge of new planets, suns and galaxies is increasing day by day. Funny how none other than a single Earth, Moon and Sun are mentioned in the supposedly true Quran, the orbital nature and purported respective sizes of which are factually incorrect too. No religion comes anywhere near as factually and scientifically correct as Sikhism. Go and study it 100%, compare it to your current religious beliefs and then come back and say which belief system seems more factually correct. 👍

Guru Nanak says: “I have seen the light of Muhammad (with my mind's eye). I have seen the prophet and the messenger of God, in other words, I have understood his message or imbibed his spirit. After contemplating the glory of God, my ego was completely eliminated.”

Muslims never believe that their is something called logics. Guru Nanak inquired a lot into the existence of life, nature , religion and space etc . After lot of travelling talking to different PPL exploring new places studying all the existing religion. Guru Nanak gave the message of ek(one). This concept of ek is very different from Islam . He didn't need to prove the existence of earlier prophet etc etc to keep his point coz he gave a new dimension to religion and belief he is our first and last prophet .

I have Sikh friends/ work colleagues and generally they are good understanding people and usually just get on with their business and likewise with Muslim's alike we have good people and bad who follow their desires as opposed to true teachings and how the religion should be understood and followed. I am primarily writing a comment here for the Sikhs that watch this video. We Sikhs have no qualms against Islam and Muslims, but answering the claims and beliefs that are incompatible with Sikhi is necessary so that we remain steadfast on the Sikh Marg. Let me tackle some of the issues as per below: 1. The Muslim speaker here claimed that Guru Nanak is not a prophet because he does not fulfill the signs of prophethood as defined in Islam / the Abrahamic Traditions. There is absolutely no need for the Guru's to meet the criteria or proofs set out by Islam or the Abrahamic religions (i.e. Muhamad's character, Allah aided Muhamad, his prophecy, his miracles, his message and a prophecy about his coming by prophets before him - see 11:11) or any other religion. If these were the criteria, a lot of people would have been prophets and messiahs because prophecies are usually widely made and interpreted without any specific timelines making it easy for their fullfillment in the future; and even magicians perform miracles. So to us Sikhs these are not the signs of prophethood, but blatantly showing these powers (and we believe saints have) is a sign of egotism. Secondly, I agree that Guru Nanak is not a prophet, he is the Satguru, a status far higher than a prophet. He did not require any intermediary beings or mediums like the Angel Jibrail and dreams to get the message of God, as Guru Nanak was in directly connected to God, which is why we Sikhs follow Satguru and not prophets. 2. Secondly on the issue of the whole creation being God. Sikhs belive in two attributes of God which is Sargun (manifestation) and Nirgun (beyond manifestation). God as defined in Islam and the Abrahamic religions is simplistic because Allah does not have the power to create his creation and then be infused in his creation, yet to be separate from his creation (please correct me if I am wrong). To Muslims God must be separate from creation. Muslims will generally say that if you think logically then the creation and creator cannot be the same. To us Sikhs, Waheguru (God) is so great that he is beyond our logical capabilities and if my logical facilities could understand and deconstruct Waheguru, then I would be greater than God simply because I have understood him. 3. There is no doubt that Allah / Waheguru is merciful, and this is best demonstrated by Sikhi rather than Islam. For one, in Islam the concept of a non-believer permanently being in Hell / Heaven after Judgement day does not demonstrate the mercy of God. In the eastern faiths God's mercy is so great that post your judgement (which is immediate) you are once more given a chance to escape transmigration and achieve union with Waheguru. Secondly, in Islam, I find Allah's mercy to be conditional as it says you must only believe in Muhammad. So the rest are going to Jahanam. In Sikhi, no such conditions, as we believe the highest faith is the constant remembrance of God / Allah / Waheguru, not belonging and practicing a specific faith. Remembrance is universal, but the paths (religions) may not be. That is a far merciful criteria than the one imposed by Islam and the Abrahamic Faiths.
- Okay, but you still didn't give any actual evidence that Guru Nanak was the actual satguru (messenger, etc...) How can you be sure and PROVE that Sikhism is the true word of god?
What form of evidence do you require? I have articulated previously that the evidences for Muhammad's prophethood is based on the narrative that is self created and believed by Muslims. It's not an objective measure. This description will also be true for followers of all other faiths. Similarly, any measure that I provide will be based on the yardsticks of a Sikh, and most assuredly will fall short in your views, because you hold a different belief of the evidences and measures required for Prophethood. Thus, my point is that is a futile attempt to even go down this path of developing yardsticks and measures of prophethood.

What our Hindu and muslim brothers dont understand is Guru never said they are both bad religions he just said without good actions we all fail and also he told them "your religion is beautiful to you the same say my religoun is beautiful to me". Like for example we ask our gym instructor for tips on how to get fit and strong, we follow the principles and the advice/guidelines they give us and stick to the schedule then once we keep trying and eventually get fit and healthy too then theres the proof. We now know this so called claim works becusee we followed the advice and it WORKS!!! . we now have no doubt the same way we have no doubt that our Guru is the highest truth to exist in this world. The highest religon in this world is truthful living meaning compassion to all beings and Faith's. If we cant do that then we all fail.

I don't think those religions are actually Polytheist cause the literal meaning of diveties are deva*tees lights/guides. Rama and Krishna both worshipped God. For example Luxman was the ideal brother, Hanuman the ideal devotee, Sita the ideal wife.. that does not mean I mentioned 5 different gods now, it's just easier/entertaining to give teachings to separate them as roles of wife from roles of brother into two different entities. The Guru Granth says neither Hinduism nor Islam has the truth (p329 Kabir; p875 Namdev) and yet says that the opposite (contrary) is also true(p1350 Kabir).Guru Arjun Dev even validates the Vedas (p632 M5). And guru Govind Singh says Allah & Abhek (Ram) are the same and the Koran and Hindu scriptures are the same (Akal Ustat vs 16:86).
It claims that there is only one way to God (p920 M3; p1279 M1) and yet the Guru Granth also teaches there are many ways to God (p885 M5.7. It teaches that all humans are children of God ( p1118 M4) yet also says, not all, but only those who love Him are His children (p658 Ravidass).

The Guru Granth says that everything was created by the agency of millions of Brahmas (p1156 M5). Yet the one God created everything ( p1 M1).
Dhanna jat is said to have worshipped a stone and God appeared to him. Yet stone worshipping is condemned (p1160 Kabir).
Guru Granth gives no account of the creation of man and in fact says the Semitic books are false (p329 Kabir). Yet itself validates the existence of Baba Adam (p1161 Kabir).
13. The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
14. The gurus never called themselves divine, but in fact sinners in need of salvation by the Grace of God. (p156 M1; p536 M5; p261 M5; M5 p1301). Yet Swayyas sing praises and laudations to them and make them divine (p1405 Swayyas; p1407 Swayyas; p1408 Swayyas; p1409 Swayyas).
15. It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).

@Randomhandlename is actually laughable what you’ve done here. There are a lot of people that like to try to invalidate sikhi when really it isn’t and there are no contradictions. The first reaoson for this is when reading the scripture and taking quotes out a lot of Hindus Muslims etc like to miss out key bits of he quotes as seen in a basics of sikhi video where a Muslim preacher tried to tell bhai jagraj Singh one quote to then he missed out key bits of the quote therefore changing it to which bhai jagraj Singh then corrected him and he quote completely changed. And secondly even if you have read the quotes write the gurus written in such beautiful poetry that many people have different interpretations and unless you know Gurmukhi the language of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji marahraj then you will not fully be able to interpret what it is saying. There are many sects and groups in Islaam. In order to distinguish the true and pure Orthodox Islamic creed and methodology, the term Salafiyyah is ascribed. Salafiyyah is the only correct understanding of Islaam.

How to know which religion is true?
Employing the following simple criteria will help establish which religion is true and most likely to be from God:
1. The idea and nature of God should be simple and easily understandable to any sane human being, regardless of their level of education. Similarly, the practitioners of the religion should have a clear understanding of the core tenets of their faith, with no ambiguity or confusion.
2. This idea should be fully supported by the scriptures of the said religion.
3. The message of that religion and its religious book should be preserved without any human interpolation.
4. The religion mustn’t be tribal or ethnocentric; it should be accessible to everyone from anywhere in the world. Common sense dictates that if God wants humanity to follow a particular religion, it should be easily accessible to all.
5. The scripture must support the universality of its message.
6. The textual preservation of the religious texts should be verifiable by third-party sources.
7. The religion should be known to a large portion of humanity.
8. Its practitioners feel happy for others to join their faith and actively invite people to join or learn about their religion.
Prophethood and guruship are two different concepts, they cannot be equated. The truth that all the prophets and the gurus claimed were the same, in that there is one god without any caste, colour, creed, gender, association or indeed religion. The quran mentions that there ARE not were many other prophets and that the message has been sent to every people on earth. The only reason guru nanak is not understood to potentially be part of the Islamic 'Prophethood' is because he came chronologically after mohammed due to the line in the quran about 'We have now sealed your religion'. This does not necessarily mean that there chronologicallly can't be any other enlightened souls. Sikhism actually is not a religion but a philosophy that has been turned into a religion by its adherents, just like every other religion on earth. The word religion is a western word that has no real direct translation in punjabi or indeed Arabic.

We do not insult other people's religions, but unfortunately it seems that Muslims have not been taught by their Koran to have respect for anybodies religion so they alway look for ways to insult and disrespect all religions. When we pray we say sarbat da bhalla, which means to bless all of humanity, not just our Sikh people. Islam doesn't ask God to bless all of humanity, just the Muslims. We do not marry our blood relatives and create babies with our cousin brothers or sisters, we call our cousins our brothers and sisters. Sikhi does not allow 1 man to keep multiple women. Muslim men keep multiple women. Sikh men keep 1 wife. Poor Muslim women, I feel so sorry for them, they have marry the man who is a cousin, a blood relative while he is enjoying relations with many women. No loyalty there. The truth has always been the same; that One inconceivable "Thing" (call It God) exists within and throughout all things. It can not be named, nor can any image accurately portray It. It's true name and image exists within the creation itself, and with the grace and guidance of a being who has realised this truth (Sat Guru), It can be experienced and realised. God is everything and everything is God, but the ego makes us believe we are separate. Even from a quantum physics prospective, quantum fields permeate throughout the universe and all things in existence are our mind's observable perception of these vibrating quantum fields.
Some say that the experience and realisation of God is subjective, but at a deeper level, all experience is subjective. How do you know that we are seeing the same colour when we look at grass, for example? What you call green and what I call green could be two completely different colours (we've both just gotten used to calling that colour "green"), but the objective truth of the the grass' existence, despite it's colour, would be agreed and realised by us both. Similarly, it would be like going to the beach. I could describe to you how the sand would feel on your feet and what the sea breeze would smell like, or you could go and experience it for yourself. Both of our experiences at the beach would be subjective (I might like it, you might dislike it), but the objective truth of the beach's existence could not be denied. The ocean wave is fundamentally a part of the ocean, it is not something separate. The ego of the mind separates them in an attempt to understand what's going on. It is all a part of the play.
You could analogise the idea that God exists within all things (including us) to an atom making up all the different things we see around us, yet also being able to take no form and just exist as an atom, similar to how before creation, there was only God. What did God make everything out of? Everything is made out of God, and is God. Some would say that there are many different types of atoms (deities) and some would say the atom is broken down into the "up quark", "down quark" and "electron" (Trinity). But fundamentally, the atom and all it's components arise from vibrating quantum fields. The atom doesn't fundamentally exist, only the quantum fields exist. Similarly, only God exists and all of creation is God experiencing itself. It could be taken one step further, since String Theory and Gurbani are extremely analogous (but we might be here a while lol). Others believe that the atom exists separately from matter (Allah and Yahweh), but the truth of the matter (pun intended) is that the atom has to make up said matter from within. In this way, God exists within, and fundamentally is, the creation.
The Guru Granth Sahib is a poetic and musical explanation of this truth. Before Guru Nanak Dev Ji's time, this truth still existed and it will continue to exist when the Earth and human beings are long gone. Guru Arjan Dev ji compiled the Guru Granth Sahib from the poetry of the previous Guru's and other Bhagats before them, who had also realised this truth. The importance of adding the poetry of other Hindu and Muslim Bhagats, who predated Guru Nanak, was to show that this truth can be realised by anyone. To show that fundamentally there is no Hindu nor Muslim (and by extension, no other religions either), there is only God. How does a pilgrimage to Kaaba differ from a pilgrimage to Kashi. How does the ritual of circumcision as a mark of faith differ from the wearing of a thread? What does it matter if you call God Ram or Rahim, if the essesence of the truth hasn't been realised?
The arguement then arises that the Guru Granth Sahib is just an amalgamation of other scriptures and that the evidence of this can be seen in the use of words and ideas from within those other scriptures. Had Guru Nanak been born in ancient Greece, he would have used analogies of the Greek gods and misguided people would have said he believed in the Greek pantheon of gods. The Guru Granth Sahib presents the realisation of the truth in it's own unique way. Written as poetry across several languages and sang in Raag, the experience and realisation of Ek Ounkar (the One inconceivable God that exists within) can be attained by anyone through the words of the Guru Granth Sahib. You don't have to change your religion or start performing rituals. In fact, the idea is to abandon religion and rituals and turn towards this truth. Truth is high, but higher still is truthful living. Living through this truth while practicing contentment, humility and compassion, all the while dismissing lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride, is in of itself the realisation of God.
If someone believes that Allah (which translates to "The God") exists separately from the creation, then how does that differ from other creator deity gods, like Brahma for example? In this case, the idea that Allah was not created and has always been, is part of the truth. What's missing is that Allah exists within, not separately. The Vedas have the concept of Paramatma, which is part of the truth. However, many wordly rites and rituals are performed around this concept, including idol worship and reclusing to mountains. What's missing is living in society while practicing truth, contentment, humility, compassion and love in the absence of; lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride.
The question of "why did this truth only come 500 years ago?" is misguided. This truth has been around since before the beginning and countless beings have spoken and written about aspects of it from time immemorial. Loazi wrote about the Toa, the Vedas speak about Naam, and the Quran speaks about the One, but none were able to encapsulate the entire truth; that the Naam of the One inconceivable Tao exists within. So how is this truth realised? The Guru Granth Sahib shows that the constant remembrance and meditation on Ek Ounkar (the One inconceivable God that exists within and throughout all creation), along with the practice of; truth, contentment, humility, compassion and faith, whilst in the absence of; lust, anger, greed, attachment and pride, will lead to a removal of ego (the illusion of separation) and a realisation of Ek Ounkar.

Today, our knowledge of new planets, suns and galaxies is increasing day by day. Funny how none other than a single Earth, Moon and Sun are mentioned in the supposedly true Quran, the orbital nature and purported respective sizes of which are factually incorrect too. No religion comes anywhere near as factually and scientifically correct as Sikhism. Go and study it 100%, compare it to your current religious beliefs and then come back and say which belief system seems more factually correct. 👍

Muslims never believe that their is something called logics. Guru Nanak inquired a lot into the existence of life, nature , religion and space etc . After lot of travelling talking to different PPL exploring new places studying all the existing religion. Guru Nanak gave the message of ek(one). This concept of ek is very different from Islam . He didn't need to prove the existence of earlier prophet etc etc to keep his point coz he gave a new dimension to religion and belief he is our first and last prophet .

I am primarily writing a comment here for the Sikhs that watch this video. We Sikhs have no qualms against Islam and Muslims, but answering the claims and beliefs that are incompatible with Sikhi is necessary so that we remain steadfast on the Sikh Marg. Let me tackle some of the issues as per below:
1. The Muslim speaker here claimed that Guru Nanak is not a prophet because he does not fulfill the signs of prophethood as defined in Islam / the Abrahamic Traditions. There is absolutely no need for the Guru's to meet the criteria or proofs set out by Islam or the Abrahamic religions (i.e. Muhamad's character, Allah aided Muhamad, his prophecy, his miracles, his message and a prophecy about his coming by prophets before him - see 11:11) or any other religion. If these were the criteria, a lot of people would have been prophets and messiahs because prophecies are usually widely made and interpreted without any specific timelines making it easy for their fullfillment in the future; and even magicians perform miracles. So to us Sikhs these are not the signs of prophethood, but blatantly showing these powers (and we believe saints have) is a sign of egotism. Secondly, I agree that Guru Nanak is not a prophet, he is the Satguru, a status far higher than a prophet. He did not require any intermediary beings or mediums like the Angel Jibrail and dreams to get the message of God, as Guru Nanak was in directly connected to God, which is why we Sikhs follow Satguru and not prophets.
2. Secondly on the issue of the whole creation being God. Sikhs belive in two attributes of God which is Sargun (manifestation) and Nirgun (beyond manifestation). God as defined in Islam and the Abrahamic religions is simplistic because Allah does not have the power to create his creation and then be infused in his creation, yet to be separate from his creation (please correct me if I am wrong). To Muslims God must be separate from creation. Muslims will generally say that if you think logically then the creation and creator cannot be the same. To us Sikhs, Waheguru (God) is so great that he is beyond our logical capabilities and if my logical facilities could understand and deconstruct Waheguru, then I would be greater than God simply because I have understood him.
3. There is no doubt that Allah / Waheguru is merciful, and this is best demonstrated by Sikhi rather than Islam. For one, in Islam the concept of a non-believer permanently being in Hell / Heaven after Judgement day does not demonstrate the mercy of God. In the eastern faiths God's mercy is so great that post your judgement (which is immediate) you are once more given a chance to escape transmigration and achieve union with Waheguru. Secondly, in Islam, I find Allah's mercy to be conditional as it says you must only believe in Muhammad. So the rest are going to Jahanam. In Sikhi, no such conditions, as we believe the highest faith is the constant remembrance of God / Allah / Waheguru, not belonging and practicing a specific faith. Remembrance is universal, but the paths (religions) may not be. That is a far merciful criteria than the one imposed by Islam and the Abrahamic Faiths.

What form of evidence do you require? I have articulated previously that the evidences for Muhammad's prophethood is based on the narrative that is self created and believed by Muslims. It's not an objective measure. This description will also be true for followers of all other faiths.
Similarly, any measure that I provide will be based on the yardsticks of a Sikh, and most assuredly will fall short in your views, because you hold a different belief of the evidences and measures required for Prophethood.
Thus, my point is that is a futile attempt to even go down this path of developing yardsticks and measures of prophethood.
Good conversation between two, but this particular sikh has less knowledge, if it was another Sikh well educated in religion he would had answers for almost everything,

What our Hindu and muslim brothers dont understand is Guru never said they are both bad religions he just said without good actions we all fail and also he told them "your religion is beautiful to you the same say my religoun is beautiful to me". The biggest problem religon had before sikhi came into this world was ego. We all suffer from it and as hyde park shows it still exists in all these preachers. Sikhi is the complete truth more than Islam and hinduism. Sikhi was given to the world as a gift from God through the light of guru nanak dev ji maharaj. Sikhi is based on experiencing God. We dont see God seperate from us and Guru had no ego that's why he was in the presence of the creator. How does a Sikh understand this so called claim?...Well we follow gurus basic principles of Waking up in the morning and chanting gods name with compassion , contentment and humility then we will experience the creator through the top of our head called the 10th gate. Like for example we ask our gym instructor for tips on how to get fit and strong, we follow the principles and the advice/guidelines they give us and stick to the schedule then once we keep trying and eventually get fit and healthy too then theres the proof. We now know this so called claim works becusee we followed the advice and it WORKS!!! . we now have no doubt the same way we have no doubt that our Guru is the highest truth to exist in this world. The highest religon in this world is truthful living meaning compassion to all beings and Faith's. If we cant do that then we all fail.

Other religions also praise God. I don't think those religions are actually Polytheist cause the literal meaning of diveties are deva*tees lights/guides. Rama and Krishna both worshipped God. For example Luxman was the ideal brother, Hanuman the ideal devotee, Sita the ideal wife.. that does not mean I mentioned 5 different gods now, it's just easier/entertaining to give teachings to separate them as roles of wife from roles of brother into two different entities. This knowledge isn't cheap so the symbolisms was very rare and hidden by 'the elite'. The Guru's translated these works and teachings into the language of the common folk. Anyhow I'm just saying all religions except true islam and true Sikhism, true x will not preach UNITY rather say only if you beleive our guide will you be allowed or permited to x even, people lacking understaning on truth or only 51% understaning it do this now so I dont want to critize or elaborate anymore if possible on topic of mistakenly making any division.
