Had to laugh at his opening story, I know exactly how it feels when you FINALLY achieve something you've been at for hours. Definitely feels like being a superhero.

Wonderful talk and I had the immense pleasure to be there live. Waooo… What you may not see or feel in this video is the energy in the room, the smiles, how people lingered at the end lining up to talk to Monroe and the beautiful NYC skyline in the backdrop. 🎉❤

"Don't wait for opportunities to float to the surface. Dive in and make your own breaks." Damn, that hit me hard! 🔥 I'm guilty of waiting around for the perfect opportunity instead of creating it myself. This talk was the wake-up call I needed.

"Reimagine your dreams, pull them out of the depths of your soul, and do everything in your power to make them come true." Man that part gave me chills! It's so easy to let dreams die but this reminded me to reconnect with mine in such an awesome way, thank you!

Thank you all for the support. I’m very happy that the philosophy behind my global not-for-profit break diving community finally is being shared more publicly with the world. I hope all of you watching this video who resonate with the Break Diving philosophy will come join us! We all want to meet you! And feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions. Either here, or you can find me everywhere on the internet. Just search my name. Remember. Don’t wait for opportunities to float to the surface. Dive in to the cold, and icy, shark-infested waters of resistance and make your own breaks in life. Break Diving: No rules. No excuses. No regrets. 🎉
PS - I clearly love public speaking. So much fun!

A super-rare professional’s professional, Monroe Mann has discovered practical ways to create success for himself and others. Dare I say happiness? I have known him for well over a decade now, going on two, and have never not known him to model his beliefs by leading by example. From his book Guerrilla Networking with Jay Levinson to his brainchild breakthrough BREAK DIVING, he has modeled a healthy and sustainable lifestyle and attitude that just feels right and affirms life itself. This TED talk of his reflects more of the light that is his special brand of authentic leadership. That he has not been a stranger to periods of darkness makes what he is talking about here on the successful end of the breakthrough process all the more relevant and reassuring. He is the real thing in a world where well-intentioned self help advice to fake it until you make it is often misunderstood to mean working super hard to earn breakthroughs can be bypassed. He is worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as other great motivational speakers you are so proud to have discovered. Congratulations, you have done it again.

What a genius. Monroe you are a superhero! Thank you so much for your constant persistence and desire to help others succeed. Very inspirational -
Also so encouraging since I’m working on a revolutionary platform to fund independent films with full transparency for investors and filmmakers, nothing like this has ever been done - making up my own rules and diving in - in a big way. This talk tells me to keep going and work even harder at making this dream come true - it’s called Big Film Fund (BFF) as I have a true desire to help filmmakers get their films made and investors to see how much money is really in film with transparent accounting !
Thank you so much Monroe - you’re amazing ❤

Wow. Monroe, you’re a really great speaker. We all live complicated lives and the way you talk, and the things you say here, it’s clear that our lives could be easier. I was thinking at first “but life just doesn’t work out sometimes no matter how hard you try” but then you said “No rules. No excuses. No regrets.” And I realize you are right. And you made a movie too?! You Can’t Kill Stephen King?! And you served in Iraq?! I learned so much about you from this that I never knew. Really a great job.

I like this speech very much. Monroe used to be my English teacher in WSE in ShangHai , I learned "No rules, No excuse and No regrets" from him. This sentence has accompanied me through many difficult moments in the past ten years. Whenever I thought of this sentence, I would fight up my spirit to face various problems in life and work, and then found ways to solve them. Break diving is a great learning community and Monroe is a great leader. I hope you don't miss this video.

Idk if I fully agree with the "no rules" part tho. Like, we still gotta follow laws and moral codes. I mean I get what he's tryna say about not letting unnecessary rules hold you back but sometimes you don't fully understand why a rule is in place until you break it
