The first half was very shaky, but good coaching and execution in the second half proved that they have what it takes to be a top team in the nation. Even if it's not top 4 worthy in the eyes of many UCF has proven that the playoffs should be 8 teams going forward. We can all yap behind keyboards of who deserves to be there, but letting them play it out on the field will settle everything.

They are considered a high school football team. Any team that’s under rank 10 will CRUSH I mean it won’t be close UCF.
I’m so happy for these guys man. Lost their star QB only for the True Freshman to come out and have a hell of a 2nd half. UCF needs to continue down this path and switch over to the ACC in the next 3 to 5 years.
Darriel Mack Jr. is actually a redshirt freshman, not a true freshman; the point still stands though. They won't switch to the ACC or the SEC, they would never accept them. The conferences are full and they are not looking to expand anytime soon. Their best chance of joining a P5 is the Big 12, but they have been trying to ever since they considered expanding a few years back and keep getting told by the conference that they're not interested.
The AAC is extremely underrated simply because it is not a P5 conference. In reality, The AAC this season is better than the Pac12, the Big 12, and the ACC. They may even beat out the Big 10. The American has 4 teams in the top 25 for overall offense (5. UCF, 6. Memphis, 7. Houston, 24. Cincinnati) along with Cincinnati having the 10th overall defense in the country. UCF isn't only the biggest school in the state, it is the biggest school in the nation (over 66,000 enrolled). The problem is the AAC will never become a power conference since it wasn't around when the 5 were formed. In order for any of the teams to be legitimately aknowledged like people want them to be, they'd have to join a P5.

Wow! What a game. What season once again for UCF Knights! They deserve a shot. What a team. And Memphis also deserves their props too. They played great and made this a phenomenal championship game. Memphis is really lookin good lately and Henderson is a total beast. I dont know how many touches he gets a game, but he always seems tough to stop when the ball is in his hands.

hayden Watkinson Actually ucf beat Pitt by 30 who was in the ACC championship game. Other game was cancelled to hurricane. Great teams find a way to win, and we have done that every time for the last 2 YEARS. If ucf doesn’t make it then no g5 team ever will, the system needs to change.

The run was their bread and butter but they got away from it late because every team believes you must panic and start throwing the ball all over. If they had kept Henderson, Pollard, and Taylor in the wildcat, they would have likely won. UCF didn't get up late in the game by throwing all over the place. Most of their big plays and all their TDs were runs in the 4th.
Oh boy, dare I say UCF’s offense with Mack at QB is just as scary if not MORE scary than with Milton. Both stud QB’s tho!!

This was a truly amazing video, but if I could have made one change - I would have added in when Coach Heupel got the crowd fired up heavy when the team was down by 10, just a couple minutes before halftime. The crowd was electric, I lost my voice for nearly a week from that game.

I just think it’s crazy that UCF lost every game a few years ago, and they STILL have won 4 out of 6 AAC Championships. They are way too good for this conference whether anyone likes it or not.

David Krumme you have to play a power 5 team if you want in. Houston was going to be in in 2016 when they beat OU and Louisville if they didn’t fall off at the end. UCF doesn’t deserve to go to the playoffs playing close games with all non power five teams. Oregon would have a shot at going undefeated with their schedule.
David Krumme they have to schedule them tougher out of conference teams. They can’t put them in the top 4 if their best win is against Memphis. I’m a knights fan. But that’s just the reality of it. If they would have beaten a top 10 team this year. They’d be in the playoff. Not one team is ranked on their schedule right now.

And sec schools not wanting to play us and chicken out doesn’t help either. Teams are AFRAID. Sorry 2 p5 games got cancelled in back to back seasons due to hurricane. 25-0 do you even know how scheduling works? There are contracts most of the time years in advance. I know Bama has played ucf a few times in the past among many other dinky teams in dinky conferences with very little success. At least half of the teams in each of the power 5 conferences has teams that ucf could “offensively” run with. The PAC 12 maybe more. The big 12 has about 3 teams that ucf would loose too and the big 10 has 3, the SEC has 5 and the ACC has 1. You can’t win championships with horrible defense because ucf will get stopped more with the top 6 ranked teams and ucf won’t be able to stop those same teams, even Notre Dame. Ok I will give them notre Dame. Ucf isn’t trying to schedule Bama or Clemson, Ohio st or Michigan, Georgia or Texas or Oklahoma. They want Pitt or Indiana or Vanderbilt or Rutgers. They may be able to out score a top 10 team but not the top 6.

UCF played one power 5 conference football team ( Pittsburgh, ACC )! Georgia played in the toughest power 5 conference and dominated ( only 2 losses to LSU and Alabama ).

They need to join the ACC
Politics won't let them. When they applied and were accepted into the Big East conference it was a BCS participant. But the buy in and conference vesting period put UCF in the conference right before the power five realignment. The Big East pulled a bait and switch on UCF and now no power five conference will let them in. Plus don't fool yourself look at the teams remaining in the top 5 all are Blueblood schools UCF wouldn't get a 4 ranking even if they were in a power five conference. They're too young a school so they will always be disinfranchised by the older schools as they control power over college football. This isn't a playoff it's an invitational

amazing story with ucf. tough for memphis, a very good team but ucf is the cinderella story of college football. memphis again built a solid lead, almost scoring at will and you had to wonder if they would finally get the better of ucf but no, ucf's defense is lights out in the 2nd half while backup qb mack jr.kept coming after memphis' defense. the tigers score 38 in the first half and are held to 3 in the second half. how does that happen? idk but it did.

SEC teams get the most money both on the rule book and off it and get to recruit better players away from their states because of it. Yet these same fans act like that has NO effect on game outcomes. The SEC Network and ESPN have a contract together. FACTS. when an SEC team loses all the sports media will paint it as a "quality loss" because that's who pays your bills.

Since I am a Missouri Tigers fan, and we have not been in the SEC that long, I still have a more or less outsiders view of the league. The Tigers were an average SEC team this season. If we were still in the Big 12 we would have probably been in the top 4, with only Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia being better. Memphis has been one of the best teams in the AAC for a couple of years now. When Memphis played Missouri this season I actually thought they were a comparable team. I mostly based this on watching the games they played against UCF, which were always close. Once the Missouri Memphis game started the difference in athleticism on the offensive and defensive lines was massive. Do UCF and Memphis have some playmakers on offense? Absolutely. Are they remotely close to the level of play on defense or on the lines that exists in the SEC? Not a chance.

The second game was just because we had our back up qb. But also Missouri seems to have a really good team, yall beat Florida and some of the teams they beat but lost against to the same teams Florida lost to. I'd say you're just as good.
