Thank you for this video. I could feel your pain and frustration. Photography is so much fun even when you think your images aren’t as good as you think they should be.
I loved that video !!! I’m new in macro and it’s refreshing to see someone like you struggling :-) You convinced me to keep trying again and again ! Thank you for being so honest 📸
I loved this honest footage showing how difficult it can be to achieve the result you had planned for. Your perseverance & constant willingness to change method shows how you learn photography, especially macro photography. Thank you
Well said and thank you Christoper. I thought it is important to show that not every attempt leads to success and that there can be many fails. So I do it again an try to fail better...
I subscribed because I liked the fail better bit. I learned so much from my own failures while battling with the macro lens. Your give a sound advice. Thanks for the video.
Thank you very much Geza! It is a constant learning process sometimes try and error is the way that leads to final understanding. "Try to fail better" is my standard advise ;)
Geat video!! I tried yesterday to get some macro shots and although they seemed pretty good to me, I could never get my background to be "focused" through the water droplets? -- How far behind the blue flowers did you have that red flower?? I appreciate your video - good instruction and your images are spectacular!!
Thanks for the nice feedback Gary! When you look at the last third or quarter of the video, then you get an idea of the distance between my subject and the flower in the background, it is pretty close. Tip: a larger flower is preferable. Then focus on the droplet itself and play around with the distance, until you have it positioned the way you want it to. Hope that helps.

It looks like you are having fun. Im looking forward to playing too. Thank you
Your patience resulted with great shots.
Thank you very much for your kind words Alonzo.
Oh yes, failure is good, but when you get it right - fantastic!
Sure, failure happens to all of us. The main message is: when it happens, just try to fail better next time. At least that's what I do ;)
Great honest advice!
Thank you David. I always try to be honest and that includes showing fails.
"Fail better." Excellent advice!
Glad you like it Bruce. I give that advise to many people and try to do it myself.

Love the T-shirt, mate, but your dogs are weird. Another entertaining and instructive vid. Good onya!
Cheers mate! If ou think the dogs look weird, you should see how weird they act... LOL
Good to know I am not alone in my macro struggles! Hopefully I will "fail better" next time :D Great video, Oliver! Thanks for sharing
No, you are not - but as long as our struggles are fun, everything is fine :)
