Excellent video as always. Those interested in the Platypod may already be aware of the Decade - a competitor at $40 vs $100 on Amazon. Virtually identical. I’ve been using it for about 6 months with no issues. I also use it to when outdoors to hold a speedlight for back lighting or underneath lighting. Note the Decade does not have the angled feet option.

March 16 2023 and Platyod has run out of elbows! However I do have 6 mini clamps! Can’t afford the Extreme but the Ultra is good. Thanks for doing wonderful videos on gear and how to use it. I love macro but can’t afford all the gizmos - I did get the Vanguard tripod!

    Mike,
Thank you bringing Platypod back to my attention. I've had a Platypod Ultra for a few years and it comes in handy at times.

Why would you set ISO 2000 since you are on a tripod?

I just set the ISO which will work in all the different conditions I may be shooting in, so I don't have to bother changing the ISO from one situation to another. The fact that the camera will shoot clean images at 2,000 ISO, means I can just leave it there all the time and it will be fine. If I'm outside shooting in low light conditions and shooting at a high f/stop number with a subject that might be slightly moving in the wind, I will need it to be at that 2,000 ISO to speed up shutter speed. But in this video shooting indoors on tripod, ISO 2,000 will still work and no issue with noise. Most photographers are stuck in the past when cameras couldn't produce clean images at the higher ISO, but you have to get past that and know that the camera of today were made to shoot at the higher ISO with clean images.
