Congratulations on your first vegetable garden, Vita! You and your family should be very proud. You should research companion planting (some herbs, flowers and vegetables help each other when planted together, ex., basil & tomato, others don't like each other and need to be planted farther apart) and beneficial insects (nematodes, which can be attracted by the companion planting herbs and flowers or you can buy the nematodes at the store embedded in a sponge that you bring home, soak, put in the sprayer jar that you attach to the garden hose and apply that way) for next time for even better results than you can imagine. The beneficial nematodes eat fleas and other bad bugs without using chemicals. They multiply and are good until summer gets too hot or winter gets too cold, the extremes, then they die and you reapply by either method when the temperatures get comfortable again. They help give you better crops, as well. So sad about the woman who gave up her half Ukrainian children. Glad she saw them before she passed. Bright blessings and Slav Ukraine! 💖💙💛

Привет Вита! Your neighbour бабушка Катя is precious, please let her know that her stories reach all over the world - through your efforts 😊 Once again you succeeded to get results, no matter what the others advised - so fast growing plants!!! I know that Ukrainian soil is fertile, but it seems like you planted instant growing seeds 😮 And that God sent rain almost exactly when you needed it? Молодец 😊 Guess that you have been working on the vegetable garden for a while, of course the plants didn't pop up overnight like the fairytale of Jack and the beanstalk 😉 Still, it's wonderful 👍🏻 Next week you will probably be busy, schools open in UA, don't know about your university program... vita that's a nice vegetable garden even though that you planted it late you should be able to get something before it gets too cold, I recommend though red beets to grow the easiest second potatoes not just one type but I do purples red potatoes and the standard white potato, if you plant right now you may be able to get garlic to grow before it gets too cold but probably not in the spring if you put garlic and when you know that it's not going to be cold anymore you have gorgeous garlic same thing with Beats if you do your Beats when you know it's going to warm up Beats garlic the other thing you can do inside as long as it's warm and you get some sun is micro greens basically lettuce but different types of lettuce 30 different types of lettuce in a long 3 ft or 1 m long pot 6 in high and 6 in wide micro lettuce grows really good in that especially if you have direct sun and they only take about a month and you can start slipping out the greens and they'll grow back if you cut them with a scissor. I don't do traditional borsche. Mine is basically boiled red beets with a little sugar I usually use a cup sugar to just get a little sweetness after about an hour boiling I testable Fork to make sure that they're nice and not too soft take them take the whole pot off and pour off the liquid into a pan to cool down then I will peel off the skins and then I usually slice not completely through like six cuts and then six cuts across and then base it into dice cutter long cuts so I have nice thin slices of lovely red beets for all the good juice back then and stick it in a tupperware so can you use it later but I always have a nice gorgeous bowl of cold borsche with a nice helping sour cream oh it's so good my grandmother used to do that for me when I was a kid I loved it and I eat that all the time when I have the chance to cook it. Now I know Ukrainian traditional borsche is different it has potatoes and meat and red beets and sour cream it's a different type of borsche though.

I think I will not plant anything because I have to come back to Kyiv soon. My University work starts. I will drive to the village only on weekends. But I have to prepare the land and soil for spring. I have to get rid off weeds and to use special chemicals for them. Otherwise next year I can’t plant anything 🙃

❤❤The stories that this kind old woman tells can be used to make a movie. This grandmother has a good memory. If you are smart, record her memories and later sell them in the form of a book. I'm serious. I'm not joking.
An interesting point for me is a question
Your last video on TH-cam was 7 days ago. In the previous video, you did not say anything about the garden and planting plants. In this video, suddenly you have a garden and within 7 days the plants grow fast. The plant doesn't grow so fast within 7 days...... Is that right?..... So how did your garden grow?
a reason There is i think.... This video was recorded before the last video and even 20 days ago. But you uploaded it now to show the growth of the garden at the same time.... This means that you are a smart girl and respectively You do this carefully. Bravo....
Good luck. (That grandmother's story about Germans and that girl was interesting)❤❤

  • @joetaadaa7074

Wow, the story of the woman that gave up her half German twins is so heartbreaking. As a Parent myself just the thought of giving up my children has to be rough when you have to do it to be accepted back into your family and village. War causes terrible things to happen and dealing with the results after is even more tragic. You could do endless video's on the Babushka's and the stories about making it thru that war. Needs to be done before they're all gone.
Interesting garden set up. I have some observations, if you will take them positively. First thing I noticed is when it rained, was the roof run off into the garden. You might want to think of a gutter above the garden portion, so you don't have so much rain dumping in one section. Have it all runoff to the side, unless you collect it. The second was the black Poly that you used. What was your intent in using this? Typically, here in Maine we hill the row and then cover the hill with a poly that is perforated to allow water thru but not sunlight to burb weeds but let rainwater to soak thru. and then holes on top for the plants. And we use black to warm the soil to help with initial growing early in the season.
It's a nice start for your garden "experiment". You should put out a water trough for the cows passing by, like a good neighbor. Plus, you can "harvest" the cow dropping for the garden. Or maybe get a cow for yourself. You look like an authentic Ukrainian Cow Poke.🤠🐄
    Thank you for the video.
