Katey sagal is such a great addition to the show. She's so good. She's such a good actress.
I expected Katey to say something like "What about being married to a shoe salesman"
Or a motorcycle leader or even a 20th century pizza delivery boy.
Or the leader of a biker gang who beats the shit out of you.
They actually have good chemistry 😑 I haven't watched this show yet but I've been watching as many clips all night. none of the actors have that connection anymore or chemistry. These two do.
These two are such gifted actresses. If you look at each edit in this scene, you can tell it was all filmed in one take. Normally, they film each scene 3 or 4 times and then edit it together and you can tell because props are moved or change hands between takes. But their flow was so perfect.

It's hard to believe that's the same woman from married with children! She still looks amazing over 25+ years later shes been in some really good series. The woman who plays jackie is also an amazing actress, but i really love her betrayal as roseannes sister.

Jackie's face at the 1:30 part is great.
This show has gotten better and better as time goes on. The writing was always the thing when it was Roseanne and that is the key here, too. That and a great ensemble of actors.

Well baby Jerry is a fisherman who is out to sea.and no one knows where Andy is.
Andy went off to college and gave all of his toys to some neighbor kid named Bonnie. Then the little brat tossed Andy's favorite toy in the closet so he ran off to live at a carnival. Oh wait... wrong Andy....
Apparently the show runners decided to retcon Andy's existence. They have not addressed him on the show at all, nor created a back story for him. They just decided he doesn't exist.
What happened to Andy (Jackie's son) and Jerry (The Conner's 4th child)??
Jerry is on a boat and has no service to call....and we are supposed to pretend Andy never existed.

I used to like the Jackie character early on in the original series. I always felt for her, as I saw her as someone who just lost her way, and needed the right guidance. Especially after the episode when it was revealed that Fisher was abusing her.
I really wanted things to change for the better for her, to find her self-respect, and someone that would love her the way she deserves to be loved. But even as the old season progressed, I began to lose empathy for her, because she just couldn't seem to dig her own hole fast enough.
She seemed too insular to learn from her own mistakes. Hence why her character would be wearing a p**yhat in the reboot. In the reboots, and in The Conners, she seems to have just gotten even worse. When Darlene called her a loser, she wasn't wrong.
This is in no way meant in disrespect to the actress playing Jackie. If anything, Rosanne did good picking her in that role, because she saw Laurie's talents, and fully utilized them. We really saw her acting chops during that episode when it was discovered Fisher was abusing her.

Jackie is a mess and made her bed a long time ago. The truth is she wants Dan and was always jealous of Roseanne's marriage, because none of hers ever amounted to much.
That's why she never respected Dan and Roseanne's space, always visiting too much.
They actually discussed this in an episode from the original Roseanne. Jackie and Roseanne's dad breaks his hip and Roseanne goes to help her mom to take care of her dad. It was early on, Jackie had just become a cop and was able to take time off. She spent days taking care of the house while Dan worked and Dan saw a different side of her. Jackie said she "let" Roseanne have Dan. In the episode, Dan told Jackie exactly what she was wearing the day they met and she clutched her heart but Dan is excited to get on the phone to go talk to Rosie and Jackie quietly leaves. I absolutely loved this show. I love John Goodman, he's not your conventional Mr. Pinup but he's got those qualities that would make you feel like you're the only one in the world. That adds a different allure.
I saw that episode and it didn't address the issue under discussion regarding Jackie's lack of respect for Dan and Roseanne's space but thanks for the reply.

I'm not overly impressed with Streep I put her in the same category as Tom Hanks (& a few others) who learned early on how to play the GAME in Hollywood by kissing the Liberal (commie) asses of those who run the show there. Jen I have always believed its getting the good parts in the good movies that fives those chances for awards for great performances. Hanks came in redfaced & embarrassed about his little tv show Boosom Buddies, and he made a couple of more embarrassing movies. But in a short time he endeared himself (climber) to the powers that be in Hollywood...Speilberg, Ron Howard, the sons of Old Hollywood masters, and one by one he got the parts. Its those parts & those good writers who made it happen. Streep is/was a very vocal Liberal...it has served her well all these yrs. Lauries talent seems so much more natural, and she is never out the telling people how to vote or what to think. She's loved because she is great at what she does and is a very real and loving person.
@Jenny Jen Totally agree! Laurie is there to do the work, and how well she does it! I'm going to look up her last Tony win...so glad for her. I fully agree Hanks acts the same in everything...his monotone drones on. Streep has won a lot of awards, but when you do as many movies as she has done (she seems to turn down very little) you have to hit it right once in a while. My opinion is that she is a bit too contrived in most of her parts. I catch her acting, and it ruins a movie for me when that happens...it takes me out of the movie into reality.

Wow! The show seems well written, but I couldn't get over what they did to Rosanne. I even had to skip all the ads for this video.
Roseanne did it to herself. She made a joke that was racist. She knew she had a TV show and as much as I liked the show, she was wrong. She did apologise,but the network decided to drop her.
Leah Ashton : that African-American female CEO who fired Roseanne was at fault, and it cost ABC multimillions. It was poetic that she was fired as a result.
